GamesCom 2011 : Tech specs put the end of the PSV halved rumor

For months a rumor that the PSVita’s RAM has been halved to 256 MB in the developing process due to pricing. Then a confirmation of one of the developing studios popped up and all of the supporters of the rumor were satisfied. But then came sudden change of gust as the developing studio said that actually they don’t have any idea whether the RAM is reduced or not. In order to put out the fire Sony announced that the RAM of Vita hasn’t been touch since we first saw it in January but made a statement that the RAM hadn’t been announced at all which only made the situation worse. Now it’s high time to stop the rumor and put out the fire permanently.
And Sony did it by releasing the final tech specs of the Vita. Here there are :
So to summarize the RAM stays intact at 512MB ,the cameras get detailed, the VRAM is announced at 128 MB and as for the video playback for now PSV will only be able to play the same codecs as the PSP.
