November 20, 2009 at 5:49 pm
It’s not that easy (learning). Do you know anything about programming?

Hey guys, if some certain emulators like Daedalus and SnesTYL aren’t working/ crashing on you. Then click on the “bubbletune source” near the download button and download Game Catagories V11 from there which fixes these problems in V10. Or PSPFan could put that up instead.

Keep it up. Two thumbs up
is v11 bug free? Because if its n0t, id better stick with v9.
November 20, 2009 at 10:34 am
No I had actually switched back to v9 for a bit, then used v11 to see a difference. v10 is the same as v9 but with less bugs and an updater. v11 just fixed the homebrew issues.

Version 11 is now up.

My favorite plugin!!

I d/l v11 and when I try to use the update feature it freezes and shuts off
November 20, 2009 at 1:52 pm
It probably freezes since there’s no update after v11 yet. Or just a bug, who knows. No reason to update for now.
November 20, 2009 at 3:53 pm
True. I’ll see what happens when v12 comes out. .

anyone know why my isos are showing up as corrupted data in content browser mode?
November 20, 2009 at 3:52 pm
Had the same thing happen to me with some homebrews. I deleted the game categories config file from the seplugins folder and shutdown the PSP and restarted it and worked after that.
hope this helps.
November 20, 2009 at 6:28 pm
I had the same issue, however all I do is launch any game and quit and when it’s back on the PSP main menu the problem is fixed…..don’t know why though.
November 20, 2009 at 2:54 pm
ISO folder works fine for me, here’s a pic: http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/5193/snape.jpg
Make sure you have your .cso/ .iso under a CAT_ folder in the “ISO” folder in root of your MS.

Brilliant, Thanks again Bubbletune.

Hey guys can you help me, I’m having a big problem with “Content Browser” and I really don’t know how to fix it. I did everything correctly I think because the “Multiple MS” and “Context Menu” were working as they should, I’m seeing the icons in each category and I can run any applications. But when I switch to “Content Browser” the files in each category changed to “Unsupported Data” so they don’t run anymore. I appreciate your help because this “Content Browser” option is much easy and great to use for me than other category options so I want this in my PSP running. By the way my unit is PSP 2007 TA-088v3 CFW Enabler user. Thanks a lot!

Try moving the games category vsh entry up the order.I did the same and it worked.By the way i have psp 3k with 5.03 gen-b
November 21, 2009 at 9:20 am
Sorry I can’t understand what you’ve said about “Try moving the games category vsh entry up the order”. Could you please at least give an example. Thanks for the help.
November 24, 2009 at 7:49 am
For eg.:
ms0:\seplugins\cxmb.prx
ms0:\seplugins\game_categories.prx
VSH entry up the order
ms0:\seplugins\game_categories.prx
ms0:\seplugins\cxmb.prx
November 21, 2009 at 5:09 pm
I’ll use this plugin again when games can be organized within their categories, I don’t like having all my PS games all been in random orders, I’d rather have the Resi’s next to each other, the FF’s next to each other, the Tales of, etc.

Same here. Also gameboot isn’t showing..

It’s great and all, but POPS crashes when loading games, should we just leave the eboots uncategorized?
November 25, 2009 at 2:29 am
I ran another check and the uncategorized boots still crash, could it be a conflict with the pops plugin and game_categories prx? Or did I configure my pops.txt /vsh.txt incorrectly?
November 27, 2009 at 12:27 am
POPS issues w/ content browser since Game Categories 9:
I narrowed the problem down to the content browser only, the eboot games will almost never load- 1 out of 4 tries usually. Rarely they load but they crash after displaying the PSone logo.
Strangely, if I change to the multiple ms or context menu modes, the eboots load normally.
These modes also do not skip the game boot screen which might be part of the problem.
November 27, 2009 at 9:01 am
maybe trying to move the the game_categories prx plugin to the top of the list in seplugins might help it be more stable, try it. I’ve moved mine to the top and eboots dont crash.
November 27, 2009 at 12:59 pm
Weird stuff, I have tried moving it to the bottom or top of the vsh menu.txt list and there still is no change..
I remember something about the game_categories_config.txt skipping boot logo but I see none of that in seplugins either.
November 27, 2009 at 1:01 pm
I still use 5.00 m33-6 if that helps anything, not sure if this problem is very common.
November 27, 2009 at 3:46 pm
try not not moving the .txt, but the other file, the catagories.prx to the top if ya know wat i mean,
November 27, 2009 at 6:49 pm
You mean arranging icon in the folder list?
November 28, 2009 at 12:16 am
This plug-in is bugged with CFW Enabler so I gave up using this until have a fix. I also tried v9 still the same. Before I had a problem with “Content Browser” showing files in “Unsupported Data” but changing to Multiple MS and Context Menu they were working. I even put the plug-in on the top of the list in VSH.txt, no luck. I even delete all other plug-ins in my PSP and leave this plug-in on my system still no luck the “Content Browser” still showed “Unsupported Data”. I decided to change my Custom Firmware to GEN-B to check this plug-in. The “Content Browser” is working with no problems except that no game boot showed in starting the game, maybe change that in the next update. I don’t want to use GEN CFW because had bugs with my PSP and sometimes result a hang in the PSP. I only use GEN for checking other games or softwares. Waiting here for a fix with this problems because this plug-in is really great! PSP 2007 TA-088v3 CFW Enabler user
November 28, 2009 at 1:59 am
yes, arrange it so that in the list you will see game cat.prx at the top, and other things below it like pop.prx e.t.c
November 28, 2009 at 2:00 am
btw i gpt T6 running on my 5.00 M33-6 psp! yesterday evening, i was shocked to the core.!
November 28, 2009 at 3:36 am
I renamed the plugin to “a_cat.prx”,placing it at the top and “b_pops.prx” below it. Also updated the changes in the vsh.txt. The same crash occurs as expected, but thank you for the help as it is much appreciated.
As far as M33-6 goes:
I still find the context menu good enough cause it serves it’s purpose in organizing the content.

PSX eboots and new firmware:
I read on the psx-psp compatibility list, someone ran a test of an eboot called (“Dragon Valor” NTSC)and apparently got it working “crash-free”. Success was from changing the first disc’s game id to the Japanese version on the first disc, I still have a hunch it’s the GEN firmware behind it as I have already done this in the past with both versions of the game.
