I'm sure many of you are also tired of that stupid clicking noise that the xmb menu
makes? I am, so I decided to make a tutorial for everyone on how to change it Smiley

BEFORE READING: This requires editing the Flash0 drive on
your psp. You can brick your psp by messing around in the flash drives or even
do further damage (rare but has happened) If you follow my tutorial, everything
will turn out fine and you will be happy, but if something goes wrong, like your
computer freezes I recommend just restarting the tutorial from the beginning.

Preparations:
You will need 3.71 M33 firmware, I tested this on my 3.71 M33-3 so edit your Flash0
drive at your own risk if you have other firmwares.

You will need a file from an xmb theme. The file will be called "system_plugin.rco"
That is the sound file of an xmb theme. It will not be included with .ptf themes.

I have a sound file the theme My Vista V3 made by Huh?. You can download it
 here:

http://www.2shared.com/file/2559586/7e239291/system_plugin.html

Tutorial:

I am not responsible for any damage that you do to your psp, this is
serious stuff here, only do if you want to take a risk and you know
what your doing...

1. On your 3.71 M33-3 psp, press select in the xmb menu. This will open the vsh
menu.

2. Change Usb Device to "Flash0" and then exit the vsh menu.

3. Hook your psp (in usb mode) to your computer.

4. Go into your psp mem stick(Removable Disk or something along those words).

     - Backup EVERYTHING in your flash0 folder to your computer.

5. Go into the VSH folder and then the RESOURCE folder.

6. Paste your system_plugin.rco into that folder and replace the current one.

7. Disconnect from your computer and go into psp vsh menu again.

8. Change the usb device back to memory stick, then reset device.

9. Enjoy your new sound Smiley!

If your psp bricks
1. Just go into recovery mode and reflash your psp using pandora.

Thank you for the comment, it helps to know I'm not doing this in vain (even if
you don't use it lol)  Cool

Hehehe. Doing it in vain?... I don't get it. :p
I'm sure to use it. I just don't have my PSP yet.
I'm getting it for Christmas.    The information
in my signature is from the eBay thread.

I wouldn't need to use this. Also you can have no sound at all by turning it off under settings.

You have a well organised skin TJ. If you would like me to make a simple graphic for you, I can.. maybe..

:| I have a nice skin? Whatchu talkin' 'bout, simon?
I don't think I need a graphic, either. I need to stay
on topic, so...

Can I use any sound? Does it have to be short?
Will long sounds mess it up? Thank you.  Cheesy

Umm, I would just leave it to the developers they know how to do this stuff..
the file isn't a sound file it's an rco file which I know nothing about. I'll look into
it though maybe I could learn how to change the sound  Cool

lol I just reread my tutorial and realized I had like 5 warnings....

I just wanted to tell everyone it's not dangerous unless your just prone
to messing things up, or if you have no idea what anything in the tutorial is....

Crap.. I meant to say sig ... I hate typing while thinking something else, it makes you type whats on your mind rather than what your meant to say.
