*****Note*****

I do realize that their are now Pandora battery makers that work on Slims and Fat Batteries, without the 1.5 kernel(i think) or CFW(i think). Im not going to reccomend something i haven't tried myself, as their is no need since i've already got a modding package. My way works great (check the views on this bad boy). So it's up to you.

THE PANDORA MEMORYSTICK MAKER DOES NO WORK WITH WINDOWS VISTA CORRECTLY SOMETIMES. TRY TO USE AN XP PC :D

Things you will need:
-Organized Clean Work Space( its easier to work around)
-USB Cord
-Psp Fat homebrew enabled( AKA running the 1.5 KERNEL)/custom firmware running(e.g 3.71m33-2/3/4)
-Memory card pro duo(no less than 512mb, i used a 1 gig)
-Psp Fat Battery( I recommend that your battery is FULLY CHARGED)
-Wall Charger

*DO NOT USE A PSP SLIM BATTERY TO MAKE A PANDORA'S BATTERY. ITLL DIE!"

Instructions:
1) Download Spikerosoft/MrDude's Universal Unbricker/Easy Installer :

http://rapidshare.com/files/62997201/Pandora___Universal_Downgrader_Easy_Installer.rar.html
MIRROR:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7QQOWPRR
2) Unzip, the folder to your desktop for easy access.

3) Plug your homebrew enabled/custom firmware running Fat PSP into your computer using the USB cord. *Make sure you have a memory card with nothing valuable on it, if so i reccomend backing it up, you can do this by going into usb mode on your PSP while it is plugged into your computer, opening the drive e.g " Removable drive [F]", and copy and pasting the files inside it to your desktop.*

4) Again, make sure you have a Fat PSP battery and the Memory card you don't mind being formated in the fat homebrew enabled PSP.

5) In the folder you extracted previously from the link above, start the " autorun.exe" file.

6) Follow the Steps, they are very straight forward.

7) Once done, your memory card is now a " Magic Memory Card" capable of making a Pandora's battery which we will need.

8) Restart the Psp

9) Once the psp has been booted up, Go to the Game Section in the XMB(main menu), and select memory card. Their will be 3 files. Corrupted data or a blank space , Pandora's battery, and 1.5-2.0 upgrader.

10) Select Pandora's battery, once the menu has loaded, press Triangle to backup your battery. The Program will close. Start it again and press X, which will make a Pandora's Battery.

11) Now take the memory card from the Fat Homebrew enabled psp you were just using, and insert it into the Psp (fat or slim) youd like to turn to 3.71 m33(soon -2/3/4).

12) Next Insert the Pandora's Battery, The psp will automatically Boot. Make sure the Battery is in securely, and don't toss the psp around.

* I reccomend when the menu first pops up, that you Click Square to Make a NAND-Backup. A NAND-Backup is basically an Image of ure psp, that can be used at a later date to fix it if it ever Screws up large. I personally didnt use the NAND-Backup tool included in the pacakge, and i've seem to have lost the file i used. But a quick glance around the forums/www.pspslimhacks.com or www.psphacks.com will surely get u waht you need.

The Nand Back-up will be stored on your psp mem card your using now. Once the backups complete, turn off the psp, put in ure original battery and/or wallcharger and bought up the psp. Go to usb mode, find the nandfile, and drag it to ure desktop. I suggest backing this up on a disc/externalHD/internethosting. Delete the file of ure memcard, put the pandora back in, and continue the process below.

13) A menu will pop up, press X to install 3.71 m33(not -2 yet). You will see a bunch of text scrolling down your screen, this is normal, If successful it will say " Installation Complete, press X"...so press X!

ALMOST THERE!

14) The psp will then shut off.( if not turn it off)A BLUE SCREEN MAY APEAR, THIS IS NORMAL, PRESS " O " ON YOUR PSP AND WAIT, ITTL RESTART. IF NOT TURN IT OFF> Take out the Pandoras Battery. Plug the psp into the wall charger. Now Hold R(the shoulderbutton on the topright) while turning on the psp(without the battery in)

15) If successful the recovery menu will pop up, Go to Advanced. Then select " Flash 1 and reset all settings"(located at the bottom of the list). This will install 3.71 m33-2!!!(the psp will turn off when done, or itll promt you to press X i forget :D)

16) Now turn ure psp on and Voila! The begining setup menu will appear. Fill it out and press X at the end. You now have a successfully modded psp(fatorslim) with 3.71 m33-2!

17) But were not done yet, we have to return that battery back to normal. Get the Magic memory card we made, and put it in the homebrewed psp from the begging of this Tutorial. Than plug the psp into the wall charger. Turn the psp on. Once booted to the main menu, put the Pandora's battery back in.

18) Go back to where we saw the Pandora''s Battery maker ( in the game/memory card data section) and start the Pandora's battery maker again. This time, Select return battery back to normal.( i think you press Square/Box or w.e u may call it)

19. Put the Magic Memory card in the psp you wish it to be used in, and go to settings than system settings, than Format Memory Card. It will be cleared and ready for use.

Q. It gave me the message "Installation Complete", but i keep going back to the 3.71m33 installtion screen!

Ok Folks, a new Program called PSP Grader V.003 Has been Released.

This is similar to the good old " Pandora unbricker/Easy installer" That is used in the method above. Except, that this goes Directly to 3.90m33-3, and can be used by those who want to save time and dont need to use a firmware between 3.71m33-2 and 3.90m33-2 which the "pandora Unbricker/easy installer" is capable of.

I will try to get this Tutorial Out Promptly, but im currently having exams. Not to worry, Physics is easy!.

For now heres the download link:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=S4OGCD50

( this is so he saves bandwidth, im not trying to claim the program is mine in any way"

Be sure to visit the maker of the program "Klutsh" 's website: http://v2.x-projects.org/index.php

Congrats, best step by step instructions in the world !!!

I have neither a psp fat or slim. I am planning to get a slim soon, however I have a quick question.

I found on other forums that a magic memory can be made through a psp slim.  I also know that I can purchase a pandora battery for cheap online. There is an even a Slim Pandora Battery along with the Fat.

http://us.codejunkies.com/shop/product.asp?c=US&cr=USD&cs=$&r=0&l=1&ProdID=986

Question:

1. Can I just buy a pandora battery and make my own magic memory (via the PSP Slim) and follow your instructions to successful add CFW to my psp.

Thanks,

P.S. Your answer would be greatly appreciated.

Well, theirs a couple of things.

Check what firmware your friend does have. Theirs other techniques to downgrade the way pervious version like 2.70. It depends when the last time your buddyboy upgraded right. You just have to google it. Im not sure on any of those procedures, as i only own a slim.

You could buy a pandoras battery off the internet. It's kinda silly because it takes 2.34343 seconds to make normally, but your outa luck right?

Thridly, their is a technique floating around on these forums, where you physically mod your battery. You take a connecter pin or something. But i read it renders your PSP.. to a PS(no portability lol).

So a summary:

1. Try to downgrade your buds psp(if possible) to 1.5.
2. Buy an already made pandora's battery.

Answer:

1. Yes you CAN! And i reccomend buying the white psp slim. First off it comes with starwars battlefront renegade squadron Cheesy. And i find that the silver one(taht comes with daxter) has a really loud umd drive. I ended up taking 2 of them back before i got the white slim.

Now its all modded and awesome.

I have OFW 3.71, a Pandora battery, and a MMS that I made with the TotalNewbiInstaller and put CFW 3.71 m33 on it. My question before I move on is that from these specs I should be fine for going to CFW 3.71m33 from my old OFW 3.71 since I have all of those or do I have to be OFW 3,60 to go to CFW 3.71 m33? Thank you!

Since this is the version 1 of the 3.71 CFW wasn't there an issue with not being able to see it on the Slim PSP screen, all the options?

- I am asking because I want to create a nand dump and I am not sure what button to press, and I am not sure how to tell once it is done dumpiong those files onto the mem stick.

- Second after I would press X will it shut down after it goes through the whole process, and about how long will it take just so I dont worry about it the whole time lol.

Thank you very much!

what he's refering to is the recovery menu.  After the custom firmware has been loaded, the PSP will ask you to press X to reboot.  You can then replace the pandora battery with an original battery or plug it in using the A/C adapter.  Holding the "R" button while turning on the psp will get into the recovery mode.  Thats where you select " Flash 1 and reset all settings" and press "X".  Thats the "X" he was talking about.

As for your question about 10, I haven't actually used a softmod to make the battery.  But it seems if you made the battery through the menu, you should have passed by the settings..."Go back to where we saw the Pandora''s Battery maker ( in the game/memory card data section)".  I'm sure if you found it it should be pretty self explanatory(ie.-Turn normal battery to pandora/pandora to normal battery.)  The keys that are needed to be pressed should be on screen.

And with your two other friends you can use the same Pandora battery to hack all three PSPs.  Everything should go down the same using the same files.  Just remember to do a Nand dump for them just to be safe.  I have a feeling that you're going to need a link so here you go...HERE
