How To Dump Your Own UMD Games And Movies

This will show you how to backup your games and films using just a usb cable and a 3.71 M33-2 enabled psp.

First insert your UMD, then press Select on your psp, this brings up the following menu

Change the USB Device to UMD Disc then hit exit

Activate USB Connection and open up the psp memory stick on your computer

just drag the UMD9960 file to your desktop and it will start to copy

Once its completed, just rename the file to whatever the game is called.

Dont forget to change the USB Device back to Memory Card after your finished

The whole process will take between 20-30 minuites and can be done to both UMD Game and UMD Video

nice! this will come very very very handy!
few things...u said first to change USB device to UMD Disk, and in the menu u r showing at the picture there is no UMD Disk, the most close is UMD ISO mode...
and then im going to memory card, and the game file is just there? where in the memory card?
and finaly - u said at the end not to forget to change from USB device to memory card, but we as at UMD Disk mode (even if its not there, maybe u meant UMD ISO Mode) so maybe u mean u change from UMD Disk to memory card, but agian, there is no memory card mode there...
u got it all mixed up, can u make a short video without the transform from PSP to COM?, just with what u pressing and all that, its will take 1 min... its really handy but i cant understand this tutorial...

That would make a lot of sense that it wouldn't let you do it if it doesn't see it.  You can't try to start a umd if its not in the drive, right?

Hi,

I have PSP Slim with cfw 3.71 M33-2, which someone modded for me (cost me some $). I want to dump my UMD games, but when I follow this tutorial and  press "Select" button, no "M33 VSH menu" comes up. Anyone knows why?

Thanks.

Are you running Vista on your PC. M33 doesn't seem to like  >:(Vista Angry, or maybe its the other way around, Huh I don't know for sure. What I do know is that I tried this at home with my Vista PC and it didn't work but when I tried it on my XP PC it worked fine. Needless to say i'm downgrading my home PC to XP asap. Tongue Now that I have my UMD's on backed-up How do I go about playing the back-up on my PSP?

Put the ISO or CSO in the ISO folder of your memory stick: ms0:/ISO/here

I must be missing something. The game registers in the game menu but when I select it I get the PSP logo then a black screen then "Game could not be read". Could  I have messed it up by changing the name of the ISO. I can't think of anything else I could have done wrong.

Ok I tried it again without changing the name and it did the same thing. I'm running 3.71 M33-4 and the game is Final Fantasy. If any of that helps.
