This guide explains how to install CFW using only a Slim PSP with Official Firmware. That means if you have a PSP Slim with ANY Firmware between 3.60 and 3.95 this WILL work. That means If you have a Daxter Pack, A Star Wars Pack,a God of War Pack or even Just a PSP Slim your in luck. If your still wondering why you reading this, This guide explains how to make a Magic Memory Stick and Pandora Battery which you need to install CFW on any PSP. Just having a PSP Slim with any OFW will do as long the battery is a SONY brand. So enough talking time for the guide.

The File You Need:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IRQGBU1N

Cool Follow All these Directions Exactly!! Read each one twice if you have to! Cool
Warning!!! This is only for Windows XP

==============
*Download the "File You Need" located above
*Extract The File You Need to the Desktop and Open it
*Open the MS Format folder
*Copy both the MSINST and MSPFORMAT folders located inside
*Now go to Start>My Computer and under Hard Disk Drives double click on Local Disk (X:) --(X=Drive letter)--
*Now paste both the MSINST and MSPFORMAT folders you copied earlier into your local disk
*Hook up your PSP to your Computer using a USB Cord and Enable USB MODE on your PSP
*Now copy EVERYTHING you see inside of your memory stick and paste into your Desktop
*Then Go to My Computer and under "Drives with Removable Storage" make note of what letter your PSP is                                                                          -(It should be Removable Disk (X:) Where X= letter your drive is)-
*Open Command prompt window ( Start > RUN > CMD ) or use the shortcut in The File You Need
*Type in the following command "CD C:\" (note: with-out quotation marks) into CMD and press enter
*it should take you to -----> C:\>
*type the following command "mspformat\mspformat.exe X" (where X=psp drive letter) note: NO quotation
*Press Enter then youll see a warning "All data will be erased", this is why we made a backup of your memstick earlier
*Press Y to continue
*it should say "Drive succesfully formatted, and partition moved." now minimize the CMD window
*disable USB mode
*remove the memory stick from psp and re-insert back
*re-enable USB mode
*Now go back to "The File you Need" and open it
*Open the Despertar v3 folder and COPY everything inside
*PASTE it into your psp memory stick.
*go back to CMD window.
*type the following command "msinst\msinst.exe X msinst\msipl.bin" (again where X=psp drive letter) note: NO quotation
*Press Enter and It should ask you " Are You Sure ? [Y]
*Press Y and Hit ENTER
*The last line should say " Write MS BOOT CODE "
*Now take out your memory stick and turn off your PSP, then reinsert the Memory stick and turn on your PSP.
*   Tongue Success!! You now have a Magic Memory Stick Tongue

Great!! You have a Magic Memory Stick and a Slim PSP, But no Pandora Battery, Well dont worry below I have 3 ways of obtaining a Pandora. All 3 options below are REVERSEABLE no matter what option you choose your pandora will not be permenant. Choose which ever one applies to you.

1.) If you want to softmod your normal SONY battery but dont want to open your battery or have a friend with CFW then weep no more. This link is for the Datel Service Tool, it converts Any SONY battery into pandora and back! Remember its reverseable your battery will not be a Permenant Pandora!!

http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/PSP-Battery-Service-Tool__EF000530.aspx

2.) If you just have your normal SONY PSP battery that came with your PSP Slim then follow the guide below. This method is reverseable!! Your pandorized battery will not be permanent!!
Use Option 6b in the Guide below!! The Trace Cut Method is alot easier and simple!!!

http://pspslimhacks.com/forum/index.php/topic,984.0.html

3.) If you have a friend with a Custom Firmware PSP then tell him/her to follow this guide below and make a Pandora for you. This method is also reverseable, the battery will not be a permanent pandora!!!

http://pspslimhacks.com/forum/index.php/topic,1290.0.html

After youve obtained a Pandora Battery, take out your Magic Memory Stick out of the PSP. Then reinsert the Magic Memory Stick and then the Slim Pandora. If you see the menu in white font congrats!! Press X to install 3.71 m33 and enjoy the l33tness of Custom Firmware

I really dont know. I have never heard of a problem like that especially if your using XP. It might be an old version. have you installed SP2 from Microsoft.com? If that doesnt work I woould go ahead and try neways the MMS to see if it works. If the command prompt flickers or closes then keep going on with the steps and see if it still works.
