Firmware 6.20 Does indeed block the 6.10 FreePlay Exploit

freeplay save game exploit blocked in firmware 620

We told ya not to update to 6.20 and for a good reason, as has discovered that Sony did indeed discover and block the found in Firmware 6.10. That very same one that was demonstrated on the PSP Go running “Hello World”. So lets hope maybe we will see a release since its blocked?? And of course games that require will not play on Custom Firmware enabled machines. Even 5.50 GEN-D2. Were coming to have to wait for either a new Game Decrypter that decrypt or a new CFW.

So how did Sony know this? I personally think its likely someone informed them. Its not like its something easy to find. Who i wonder? Someone in the know thats for sure. Now the game required for this save game exploit has no doubt been removed or now requires FW 6.20……

      Well if 6.20 blocks the exploit then there is no reason why typhoon should not be able to release their hack for 6.10… or anyone else that is. This is how the ball rolls… first the exploit is found, then an update is released to block the exploit then the exploit for the older OFW is made public :) then those of us that know the routine (an do not update) are once again able to play the back copies of UMD games we already own :)

        Unfortunately, it’s Team Typhoon’s decision on whether to release or not.
        They already announced that they won’t release their HEN.
        Unless they change their minds, there is no reason why they should release their HEN.

      unless someone leaked the typhoon hack, i doubt sony blocked it. team typhoon was smart not to release instructions and only show us a clip of what we can never have…

    They should have NEVER announced they found an exploit. They don’t want to release there finds yet they brag about it so Sony can patch the exploit and block games from running on GEN D2. Bravo guys good work!

      Gen D2 uses a different exploit from freeplay isn’t it?

      So whether freeplay announced or not, it’ll still get blocked anyway because GEN exploit is public (Sony employees use Internet too you know)

      But announcing just for bragging rights, I think it’s childish and shameless. Fame and respect are not the same.

    i think freeplay is liying he wants to release the exploit at the right time
    there is no way to find the exploit how could sony find it ??? they dont know the save game or the exploit

      How could Sony find it? Easy they’re the ones that make the Firmware. It’s hard for the average person like me and some of us here to find the exploit but I’m sure Sony doesn’t hire uneducated or unskilled people in this particular field.

      Just my opinion.

      Obviously, Sony knows how to find save game data exploit.
      It’s not hard to find save game data exploit if you know how to do it. (I think there’s one tutorial in Wololo’s blog.)
      Do you think they wasted all these days to just add Extra menu on XMB?
      Most likely, Sony has been spent all days to check all save game data exploit.
      Sony is not dumb.

    Hopefully we will get an update that will allow us in to the Playstation Store but looks like we will have to keep up with Sony. Everytime they do a new update it will be required on the Playstation store as well unless someone can figure out how to bypass it.

    I don’t know how to make CFW so idk how easy or difficult this would be but maybe they could implement some kind of stealth into CFW that tricks the Playstation store.

    Just a thought.

      There used to be one but it got blocked a long time ago. Not so easy to find a loophole to hack .. and Sony can just patch it up the next day anyway. Guess no one bothers to do that now

    Well hopefully this will make CFW dev team smarter about what they publish. They need to stop the “look I found and exploit, but I’m not going to tell you what it is, or how I did it, and I’m not gonna publish it, but you can talk about it all over the internet so that Sony catches on to it and patches it”. Better stay quiet next time, work in secret and then release it. I much rather have the CFW than a preview of what may be or may not be something true, because once a preview its up there Sony will found out about it.

      Actually it didn’t matter either way because Sony can just patch it anytime. If they announce it gets patched. If they don’t, well what’s the point nobody gets to use it anyway.

    I think FreePlay gave his exploit to Team Typhoon and then they made the HEN for psp go……but I think someone in team typhoon was a loud mouth and told about it to sony……probably the motive is so this exploit is released

    team typhoon same thing how many people work in your group
    finnaly REMBER TEAM GEN also got the exploit and there probably alot of people working there so i think 1 of them leaked the info for cash or somethink ( also how many people work in the group )
    if u just add up all the people who knew about it then im sure u will get the leaker ( peronnaly i would beat the shit outa the guy for ratting out the exploit )

    freeplay could be lying and pretend it dont work so they make sony belive they fix it when they havnt lol
    and probz never will fix it then so unlimited HOMEBREW for them + latest firmware
    they aint gna release it so whats the point of ever telling the pubic it works just say it dont and make sony think they fixed it :D thats what i would do :P

    P.S i own a PSP1000 5.50 GEN D-2 and 5.03 PSP3000 GEN-B, so i dont care anyway since i dont have psp go or psp 3000 5.50+

    Thats a pretty bold and unfounded claim. Sony has unlimited access to their own development environment, Not to mention the fact that they hire real qualified experienced software developers, Not script kiddies.

    Sony doesnt release updates unless they have some kind a security update… they are all gay, but anyway, this question has been bugging me, can u internally hack your psp? like open it up(if thiers a way to open w/o ruining it…) and mess with stuff?

    so…. they can now release the 6.10 exploit for the other lower version who cannot use CFW’s. because im still using a ofw 5.50 in my psp3k wating for some exploits to work with it.

    i think sonny had made a research team/s that will test there products and look for alternatives or something like that to make their products more productive…

    I actually agree with those saying that the CFW devs will finally release their 6.10 exploits after polishing them up some. Then they’ll up the ante and find something for 6.20 based on 6.10. I’d LMFAO if the 6.20 exploit is through the Comic Book Reader.

    i have found a way to run TIFF image in 5.50 PSP 3006 but chicken hen still not works i thibk if i show them video then others would find a way so i will post a video on youtube my youtube id : COOOLFORCE

      If you’re thinking about converting the image to another format, that doesn’t work. TIFF files are special for their ability to run unsigned code easily.

      So it doesn’t work. TIFF images don’t work anymore and that’s the only file format that can run the exploit.

    Yes, freeplay has released the exploit on his youtube account, the game required for this exploit is mercury but sadly as per freeplay, sony has patched this game too, so now psp go and psp 3000/ta-088v3 owners with OFW 5.55+ as well as 6.20 are out of luck!
    Luckily i’m on 5.03 mhu CFWE on ta-088v3.
