PSP firmware 5.01 released
Sony were quick to release a bug fix firmware update for the PSP. Firmware 5.01 fixes the previously posted issue where downloads from the PSP store would state you didn’t have sufficient memory space if you had a 8gb or 16gb memory stick inserted.
This download is available via the network update from your PSP XMB. (We will also have a link to the firmware once Sony update it to there website)

Kaspar, if there was another [easier] way, do you think people will still do this MMS Pandora battery way?
Ps3r, yes it’s for any official firmware. I accidentally upgraded mine to 5.01, now I have a CFW since I followed the steps.

hey could anyone tell me how to run iso and cso files in psp with 5.01 firmware
November 12, 2008 at 9:49 am
Were you even reading previous posts on this thread?
You can’t run ISO/CSO games on an official firmware. 5.01 is one, and there’s no CFW for it yet. Either way you have to downgrade your psp firmware and don’t start asking HOW, I’ve already answered it several times on this thread. If you won’t then buy games in UMDs.

And you followed this:
\/ Please Read The Following Instructions Carefully \/
1. Take out any battery and insert your magic memory stick in your psp
2. Connect your ac adaptor and insert your Pandora battery WHILE holding L (or whatever you assigned)
– If it doesn’t start automatically, just turn on the psp with the switch like normal.

Guys not sure if this was mentioned above (sorry for not reading) i have the same problem, upgraded to 5.01 m33-4 and couldnt play cso/iso’s, if you hit select you get the m33 VSH menu, on the 4th option down ‘UMD ISO MODE’ is probably on ‘NONE’ change that to the ‘SONY NP9660′ now i can play my cso/iso’s, hope this helps

I only have one question.,well, actually more than one.I will admit I am not very technicle lol, but there is only one game I want to play on my psp and that game is oddworld abe’s exodus.I have been doing my homework and I hear about firmware and such, but I don’t know anything about it.My question is :is there any way I can get an extra memory stick and download oddworld abe’s exodus to it and play it on my psp without to many complicated details that I will f*** up.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Terry
