Real working 6.20 Exploit found. Works on all PSP's.

Here’s the facts, PSPJoke has found a real save game exploit for firmware 6.20 Quite a few top people in the scene are now working on this Firmware 6.20 save game exploit. Its confirmed working on the PSP-1000,PSP-2000, PSP-3000 and yes even the Go for now (till Sony removes it from PSN, when they find it). This is not a fake! The team behind this are now working on a form of HEN or Eloader. No word on if they will publicly release it and the info behind it.

No files or videos are out at this stage as proof. But many trust-able people in the scene have confirmed it works so that is enough. And being that fact its a save game exploit of a certain PSN/UMD title once Sony find out they will patch it within hours…This half the issue if your a PSP Go owner after the exploit. I’m afraid too many people are getting there sticky fingers in this one and its spreading like wild fire.

We don’t know what the game its is, but its on UMD so PSP owners with a UMD drive are safe (stay on 6.20!). I suggest you keep up with the latest news incase its leaked in order to grab a copy before Sony patch it or remove it from PSN.

DayPR Rev 6 Beta Released.

Lilmnm’s has released a bugfix for the recently released DayPR Rev 0.6 Beta. Which to be noted is a mod of SANiK’s original NitePR. Not sure what this is? Well DayPR Rev 6 is a cheat code plug-in for your PSP running CFW. This tool can be used apply certain cheats to game and search and find cheats for whatever game it is your playing.

Whats fixed? Fixed is the scrolling bug where it didn’t show the last cheat in the Hacks tab.

Battery Warning plug-in.

Zack has released Battery Warning Plug-in v0.3.1, the handy little prx plug-in that warns you when your battery is about to die and how much time you have left. Comes in handy for those times you don’t see that little red LED light flashing low battery.

In the next release there will finally be the configuration manager. I have started it and it wont be long until it’s finished. However been that in essence this is more of a new plugin than a updated version (since I had to start from scratch) I want to be certain people enjoy the same level of success with it as I do before bothering to release a customization manager.

MediumGauge has just rolled out an update for his awesome PSP Filer application. Looking from the translated changelog we see that various bug fixes have been applied. And some changes to the picture viewer.

This application lets you, dump UMD’s to your memory card in ISO format, extract 7-zip, WinRaR and Zip archives. Plus Copy, Paste, Move files and lots more. A must for any Custom Firmware enabled PSP.

The new trailer is out for Dante’s Inferno Minions of Hell, this trailer shows off a bit of the gameplay action. Oh and yes its such a God of War ripp off….100%..as you can see. Oh well still looks a decent game. And its safe to say if you like GOW you will like this game. But this trailer’s graphics look a little to good to be the PSP version? Games out in 9 days, so not long at all to wait.

Homebrew Sorter GUI

Slightly annoyed with a bug present in Homebrew Sorter GUI beta 2, suloku has reworked homebrew sorter GUI beta 2 source by Valentin and fixed the 1.50 hb crash bug. Which he thinks was caused when the application was trying to load the icon from a data.psar file named eboot.pbp. Homebrew sorter GUI is compatible with Game Categories so you need not worry about that.

*Update 26th Jan, This video here seems to have a little more weight to it, no strange cuts and the video’s audio remains continuous. I would be more convinced if it was a PSP Go or PSP-3000. Nevertheless it is interesting…The author claims that he will release this only when Sony patch it with 6.30 Firmware. I guess we just wait and see. We’re also maybe given a hint -- Exploit 6.20.MP4. This post is for all those that keep commenting that the PSP scene is finally dead..We have heard it all before since 1.50 exploits were patched back in the day,but time and time again the scene bounces back. And here’s a little something for you… An apparent “legit” PSP hello world for firmware 6.20. Is it fake? Could be, again we love it how these type of videos always seem to be short and very blury. Recorded on a 50 dollar mobile phone. So take it with a pinch of salt. Could just be a hello world like Free Play’s which will lead to nothing much. By the way were is Free Play? I’m sure he’ll be back to debunk this video…

And now something a little more positive from the PSPGEN team, they talk again about that fact that Sony has really pulled out all the stops to prevent exploits and custom firmware in firmware 6.00+ However the good part is PSPGEN do say that a Custom Fimrware 6.xx GEN is possible. But it will take sometime to do.

So, there is hope..The scene isn’t dead just yet…

Total_Noob has released Dayviewer V7 via TeamGEN  / PSPGen, Dayveiwer allows you to display the Day, date and time in the upper right hand corner of your PSP’s XMB as you can see here above *cough* if you can get past looking at the hot lady…

You can also set dayviewer to show you the exact battery percentage remaining, rather than just the normal 3 bar battery logo. You can also remove or add whatever text you want displayed there by editing dayviewer_config.txt of this PRX plug-in.

Forum user KG6ZVP has updated his video converter to version 1.05, this video convert is slightly different to the others out there. It does everything for you it automates video conversion from any source to PSP format. It calculates a PSP compatible resolution (like: 480-x272-) based on input aspect ratio and determines the best bitrate for the encode. Its all run for a one off batch file.

Its in beta status as there is a small hitch, KG6ZVP is after some help in order to get a GUI working for the application. If you can help out with a GUI why not PM KG6ZVP over in the release thread.
