kgsws has released his second update to DOOM Legacy, which lets you play the classic fps DOOM, DOOM 2, and on your PSP while on the move. The major update is all 3 games are now using hardware rendering, not software so its very smooth and looks awesome!

DOOM Legacy second update by kgsws changelog:

  • GU (hardware) rendering
  • little code cleanup (for example software renderer removed)
  • fixed some legacy’s bugs
  • removed some things (for example old status bar)
  • new bugs added (but i don’t know them yet)

P.S in order to play these games you’ll need the original data files. Shareware or original.

    Data file could be download on some website. Some could be bought.

    However, this is only for CFW??? We PSP3000 users(5.51) still can’t install it?

      sorry if i come across as ride, but STOP asking as no homebrew can EVER run on OFW. All apps have to be signed by sony to run on the psp. unless we got sony’s digital signature nothing on this site will EVER EVER EVER EVER work for OFW. im sorry, i do feel your pain. if you want, you can try replacing your psp by saying the UMD drive is broken or something and getting a CFW-able PSP.(stay away from dissidia and rock band bundles, get a core as 9/10 it is below 5.03 as of now).

      well, i guess hhe 3000 is officially iunhackable all over again once the last 5.03 units are off the shelves. sony own…im starting to have doubts that the go will be hacked at all…

    The .WAD files you need are in your installation directory of your Doom, Doom II, and Heretic games. Just copy them over to the needed directory.

    This is assuming you own the games, of course.

    welll i have a question… has every1 given up on making a cfw for ofw5.50? because ive been told no to update but now i think i should since you guys might find an exploit for ofw 6.00 b4 u do for 5.50

    This is great but i wish they’d make the controls like psp quake; joystick to move. Just like with quake you dont really need to look up and down in doom. Either way it runs great, just hoping for some control changes in future releases

      It runs at a set rate-try disbling running if it’s too fast.

    It seems like everyone gives up PSP3000 with OFW higher than 5.51. The only advice for these people is that please do not buy??? There is bunch of people get their PSP3000 with an initial OFW 5.51. Sorry!

    I saw the transparencies in the fireballs, but i didn’t happen to see any dynamic lighting coming off of them. is the psp powerful enough to handle the dynamic lighting? that was my favorite new feature added to doom legacy because it created an entirely new atmosphere for the gameplay. it still looks awesome, though. great job

    it is possible but you are asking to add content and not work with existing content, heck we can have bloom, real time shadows and even bump mapping but it needs to added in and it can be allot of work and quite hard to be bug free

    psp scene = for every 1 person out there who knows whats up in the scene there are at least 8 people who have no idea what is going on … quit asking if this is hackable o when this exploit will be out or my favorite…can i run this on ofw.. if its that important to you … code it!

    works great on psp1000 cfw5.50gen-b, tested doom.wad, doom, heretic, the plutonia experiment and the doome tnt.wads, ..miss hexen support and only wish there was a way to turn left/right with square and circle.. this doesn`t seem to work.. only strafe when set.. can you fix this pls? :) thanks though

    Awesome,until I got to level 27 of Doom 2.It freezes just after the level begins.Anyone else have this problem?
