PSP-3000 Pandora by Datel
The new blue service battery by Datel has been tried on the PSP-3000. So it puts the PSP-3000 into service mode. But results in just a flashing light and dead black screen. So its not REALLY a hack by Datel to allow users to flash custom firmware if that’s what you were thinking. It still needs to be bypassed or needs someone to hack the pre-IPL hash process.
From Sceners:
…it’s confirmed that this over exalted battery will leave 3k at least like the 88v3, just with a flashing light, a black screen and nothing but that LED indicator, as we announced.
…
Now onto the 88v3 IPL. You might remember this post from where part of the signing (there were 2 functions missing) was hacked from Brokencodes; so being as partial as it is, it would be interesting now to say, after reading about it on all the PSP-related webpages, that is NOT conclusive or definitely, so please, be aware that a “hack” for this couple of mobos might need further and longer study.
More about the false PSP-3000 Datel battery can be found over at sceners.

woot first poast
-why anyone would think they could beat DA to the psp-3000 CFW punch is beyond me. good luck DA looking foward to when you pawn the psp-3000.
December 2, 2008 at 7:15 pm
hmmm, hopefully dax would be able to hack it cause i realy need my friends psp hacked so that he will pay me muahahahahah, lol
December 3, 2008 at 2:46 am
Actually, I dont think Dax is going to hack the 3000. Brokencodes is.
December 3, 2008 at 5:09 am
i dont see why it matters, i have hopes Dax, is actually taking time to himself, and not spending every moment trying to hack everything from PSP, hes the best hands down, he deserves his own free time, and above all why does the 3k need hacks, the screen makes it useless

The microphone already gives us plenty of options/ideas for homebrew.
December 3, 2008 at 7:38 pm
i cant wait I hope they can get past that screen
December 3, 2008 at 11:35 pm
@FR350Z: You can hardmod a microphone into a Fat/Slim PSP.
@Twit: They won’t. Apparently it’s a feature. =S
December 4, 2008 at 5:35 am
I actually like the new screen better…
December 4, 2008 at 7:18 am
@naruto: But for those people who don’t know/don’t want to hardmod, it’s a bit more convenient.
December 4, 2008 at 8:40 am
@FR350Z: Yeah I know. But, either way, both would go great.
December 4, 2008 at 10:35 am
Uh, the PSP has the skype attachment, which I wouldn’t doubt uses the same tech (would require no additional programming) to use.
Further, I believe I read somewhere (maybe here?) that you can deactivate the enhanced screen effect.
December 4, 2008 at 5:34 pm
@Eric: Don’t forget the prettyful screen. The thing your talking about, people claimed to hack (which they didn’t) it with a 2000 CPU. All they did was just switch cases and use remotejoy.

DA wouldn’t do these kinds of things if he didn’t enjoy it.

Hello to all
Please excuse me for this newbie’s question but I think do nothing bad:
I just bought a “PSP Black Piano Edition” (Serie 2000, with FW 4.01 originally* integrated) 1 month ago, and I think* it unfortunately contains a TA088v3 motherboard but I’m not sure.
Is it necessary for me, to buy a Datel PSP Slim Battery Tool (and make a Magic MS) to try to hack my new psp, please ?
(Or I should just wait the new way to hack TA088-v3 Motherboard ?..)
Thank you in advance for your answers !
cooljojo.

Just to let everyone know, there are some reports that the Datel Lite Blue BAttery is not going to be released until Janurary. Can anyone back me up with details??
December 28, 2008 at 3:31 am
I want to buy the psp3k as a present for my bf but I’d rather if it was cracked.
So I’m wondering if I should buy the datel lite blue tool-in most sites & forums I searched it said that the dlbt will only put psp on Service Mode. Any updates on the preIPL/MMS stuff?
Would the DLBT be enough?

Hey s3:
The Datel battery is supposed to “hack your psp 3000 into service mode and let you install custom firmware on it”. Well, this isn’t the case, for now anyways. The “Lite Blue Tool” that was supposed to be shipping to people the first week of December, has been delayed to be released in Janurary. One of my friends pre-ordered the battery November 28th, and have still not gotten it yet, so even if it did do what it said it did, I would not order it unless you plan on getting it somewhere in 2009.
I would suggest buying your bf a psp 2000. Most are hackable, except for the psp 2000s that are shipped with the TA-088v3 motherboards. For example, if you buy a limited time Madden Football PSP package(blue psp) chances are you are going to get an un-hackable 2000. Your best bet is to buy a PSP “piano black” edition. Heres a picture of the package: http://www.slipperybrick.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/sony-psp-2000-console-preorder.jpg
There are still a number of hackable psp 2000s out there, so buy them before they are all sold out!
P.S – If you buy a psp 2000, you will still want to buy a Pandora battery to hack it. I hope this helps.
Cheers!

NO!
January 3, 2009 at 4:14 am
The Datel Lite Blue is not a scam. It does what it says it does. It puts the psp into service mode. That’s all a jigkick battery can do. It needs a compatible ipl to inject. It’s not a scam.

January 9, 2009 at 5:20 am
@jacota
let me know if you get this:
The “lite blue tool” will be released on January 16th. Although it won’t do all that it said it will. They totally changed the product details!
read this: http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/PSP-Lite-Blue-TOOL__EF000726.aspx
and this: http://sceners.org/?itemid=174
Hope this helps!
January 9, 2009 at 9:52 pm
then what will it do then i mean if it does not do the thing that it sais it does then what does it do?
January 9, 2009 at 10:06 pm
i read what you said on sceners.org well how do you know for sure that the psp light pandora battery will not work no body has ever tried it before exept datel and all the things they know are classified so just tell me what exactly does the new battery do
January 10, 2009 at 1:20 am
datel probably released this knowing it wont work. they probably expected hackers like dark to use it and make software for it that will work with it.
January 10, 2009 at 1:57 am
you probably mean dark alex and it will probably work you dont know nobodoy knows exept for datel who knows it will probably work so i guess we just have to wate untill january 16 to find out if it really works
January 10, 2009 at 2:02 am
@jacota
I am 99% sure it won’t work on a psp 3000.
Datel even said it, and the reason I know is because(if you look closely on the product page) It says “use this battery to put psp 2000 into service mode, OR use it as a REGULAR battery for a psp 3000)
So that’s why I think it won’t work. Take a look at that page again.
January 10, 2009 at 3:22 am
you know i think your right i shouldnt of got the psp 3000 i thought it was cool because i just came out but i will order it online and try it on january 16 and i will tell you if it works or not but keep me notified if you hear anything
January 10, 2009 at 4:59 am
and i looked on the box it never said that or you can just use the battery for a normal battery psp it said it enables you to put psp slim/light into service mode
January 13, 2009 at 10:20 pm
it wouldn’t have happened that quickly quickly, i mean the ps3 has not been chipped yet so how can the psp – 3000 because Sony said that it was made to be unhackable, and it is for now anyway, but if there is a way then Sony will force them not to release it to the press like they’ve done to Datel. but i give my bravo to the person who has chiped the PSP – 3000 and please start on the PS3.
January 16, 2009 at 10:38 pm

February 1, 2009 at 10:44 pm
Well, they might have scammed people by telling them it will hack their psps. As long as it puts a PSP into service mode, than that’s what we should think about.
We should try to see if we can get the key used to put a psp-3000 into service mode, and upload files such as hex dumps to the internet. Possibly with any data obtainable off a lite blue tool.
Than we should see if we could recreate this.
Than once a custom firmware can be installed using the currently secret kernel mode exploit, we should try to build a magic memory stick which could install it in a way like how the kernel mode exploit might be able to.
Than we need to get the internal lcd monitor working with a cfw.
It seems like a good idea. But than again, likely to be somewhat obvious.

So, About A Month On,
Has Anything Been Achieved?
Pre-IPL Has Been Hacked Yet?
Maybe Thinking I Should Have Bought A Psp-2000 Instead… Should I Think This?
March 3, 2009 at 5:08 pm

there are no achievements on psp3000..
maybe next year, the psp3000 will be hacked..
or maybe it will be released this year..
maybe after 4months of carefully preparation..

so could this (re)install 5.03/5.02 official firmware on a psp…I think i simibricked my 5.03 psp 3001:(
and a question about psp updates in general – if you were to “upgrade” the firmware in a normal method, does it completley rewrite flash 0, 1, and 2?
