DaedalusX64 Team talks beta 3
With DaedalusX64 Beta 2 released, the developers have started to look at ways to yet again improve on the N64 Emulator. In DaedalusX64 Beta 3 they plan to do some major bug squishing, add a new GUI, some code clean up, add dynamic buffers based on ROM size and PSP type.
With Beta 2 successfully out the door over the weekend. I thought it was time for an update from myself as far what my plans are for Beta 3. I wasn’t as active this time around, except in the background this time around, but Howard and Strmn’s work was amazing. Having fallen way behind, I plan to start on the new GUI (a Coverflow kinda of GUI with some extra ideas I had.) I also am going to try to get as many of the bugs in the Bug tracker closed as possible and take a look at why Async audio is unstable. Finally, I am going to look at making all the Buffers Dynamic based on ROM size, PSP type, etc… Howard plans to move at least part of the CPU to the ME. Wally and Salvy are going to make sure the Microcodes are correct. Not sure about Chilly’s or Strmn Plans, but I know Strmn, plans on some code clean-up. Well that’s it for now enjoy the release. Don’t know when I’ll update this next, probably when I get started on the parts I plan on working on.

It’s nice to see that there is active working going on for once on something. They should talk to people more often, since a couple of months of silence is BAD.

How fast is it now?
I hope it is faster than last time; anyway, each version is faster than the previous one and I think it’ll be fast enough soon.
Congrats!

Well to all those who had no clue like myself.. once you install custom firmware you have to reformat the memory stick for your programs to run properly. now my question is why when i play the roms on Daedalus_X64_Beta_2_Update they seem to not run load or run at all. if i press the select button i do see the menu for Daedalus but when i chose resume emulation the screen is blank.. i have cfw m33-6 am i doing something or are my settings wrong, or do i need a faster memory card? i’m using a sandisk memory stick pro duo 4gb and my cpu speed is set to cpu clock xmb 333/166 and cpu clock game 333/166. can someone please help!
