This is pretty amazing, just look how good Mario 64 runs! Very smooth. I never thought the PSP with have the power to do it…

Lol “made with an apple”!
January 27, 2009 at 3:33 am
and here i thought nothing good came from apples. . .bout like, nazareth. guess even apples have their uses, lol.

Here’s hoping that it actually works as well as they say… I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time now. Good luck fellas.

January 22, 2009 at 6:05 pm
I’m going to be trying this out pretty soon. Considering my final evaluations are almost done.

January 22, 2009 at 8:54 pm
the song is tight…
i wonder whats it called..
but that is tight…cant wait till i can play those 64 games on the psp…n finally it wnt b laggin it..
January 22, 2009 at 9:13 pm
This is great! I have been playing Starfox 64 on Daedalus Beta 1 with some lag (most of the time, it’s pretty much perfect) almost since it came out. I am really, really stoked.
These games don’t even play right on our family’s new Mac desktop. (Mac emulators suck)
Also, Project64 kept crashing my video drivers when I played Starfox on the computer, so…..
I would say the PSP is doing just fine for emulators!
January 22, 2009 at 11:45 pm
how do we know its on psp? it never shows the psp itself
January 22, 2009 at 11:49 pm
There’s really no reason for them to lie about the system. They’re not making any money off of this project.
January 23, 2009 at 11:09 pm
Why would they fake it? what do they have to gain?
January 23, 2009 at 2:23 pm
That’s cool I guess, but someone should be working on a better working snes emulator.
January 23, 2009 at 8:00 pm
snestyl works perfect for me dude. u just gotta play with the settings.
January 27, 2009 at 10:12 am
I’ve found that it freezes if I try to use a save point in FF6/Chrono Trigger/Mario RPG, and it runs racing games really slowly. The only game that works anywhere near perfect is Super Mario World, and even then it’s a bit buggy.

So, am I the only one who plays Starcraft 64?
My only reason for asking is that I am addicted to StarCraft and would like to have a way to play it on-the-go.
January 23, 2009 at 10:52 pm
i play Starcraft 64 to, alot, but i have to say it’s 2nd only by smash bros. (just a little)
January 23, 2009 at 11:44 pm
i would like to play starfox64 on psp full
speed the emulator i use is ok but it runs slow
January 24, 2009 at 3:06 am
so now we can use the sound???????
January 25, 2009 at 4:02 am
Good question. No mention of sound being enabled…
January 24, 2009 at 11:05 pm
lol i really believe this is real. heres why:
I just read an article from 1990 saying new super laptops released. The proccesing speed was 8 mhrzt. If we advanced so much in 17 heres sure we can make a fing emulator.
January 27, 2009 at 10:14 am
We’re not in 2007. Plus, that point is moot. The N64 came ut in the late 90’s. In 1990, the NES was still big.
January 25, 2009 at 1:49 am
wrong place for this but older posts do not answer. Since the cpu is under clocked from 333 to 222 and on the 3k system u cant change this. but would it be feasible to sue sony for lying to us then look at this web page http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP/Systems/TechSpecs/default.html
It clearly says a couple lines down that the clocked speed is 333 mhz. but in reality its under clockedto 222 mhz

Wow,so they’re finally getting Paper Mario to run? I see a big improvement based on the super mario part. When you go on the first area,it goes about 15fps and looks choppy so on there at least its running smoothly instead of as slow as before
January 25, 2009 at 1:42 pm
Don’t mean to sound cynical, but I’ll believe it when I see it. The last release video of the lat version showed basically the same and it didn’t back up the video and it really wasn’t any better then previous versions.
January 26, 2009 at 3:40 am
The video is no longer available…

I got alpha source and compiled it (So the version I’m on now is kinda like Beta 2) and I was able to play Starfox 64 and Super Mario 64 with NO LAG. I was even able to do it with sound. The sound isn’t working perfectly, but it is pretty impressive, all things considered.
They should focus on making PC applications more efficient with CPU usage, that way when programmers go to program something for a cell phone or something, it won’t seem so foreign to have to make it efficient.

UPDATE: I just played Mario Kart 64 and it works. I enabled the sound and was able to play it without lag. This is on an alpha from about two weeks ago. Really, this is a GREAT app! Playing N64 games on your PSP isn’t just a Nerd Party trick, it’s actually enjoyable.
Just today, I let someone play it on my PSP who was a huge fan of Super Mario 64. I enabled the sound and everything. He wondered why sony had made Mario 64 for the PSP! He didn’t know it was emulated and did not notice any lag, even in the sound.
Trust me, guys. This is on the level! This is a superb example of homebrew code!

When will the new emulator come out? Can it play both Zelda games?

YOU GUYS FUCKING ROCK! I cant wait to play mario 64 on my psp, I also wonder how good Banjo kazooie works
Zelda looked kinda crapy, but i know that you will overcome all the problems and make all games work perfectly! you work for free and the job you do awesome! you should get Nobel prize or something
February 17, 2009 at 11:31 am
what i have found out about this emulator is that it does work but not as fast as it seems on the video it only runs anywhere from lets say 45 sync to maybe 60 sync it runs a lot faster when its on the main screen of the games but slows down a hug amount when u r acutely playing the game but that’s just my input
February 23, 2009 at 10:00 am
I’m starting to worry…
When’s this second beta coming out?
February 24, 2009 at 9:45 pm
i wonder how you have heard that, because there is only beta 1 out there right now, and this is lot better than beta 1 is. cant wait this to come out
