Custom Firmware Enabler v2.1 - Added POPS support!

Custom Firmware Enabler v2.10 has been released, Xenogears and Becus25 have released an update to their Custom Firmware loader, version 2.1 now supports POPS (PSX Emulator). When used in conjunction with ChickHEN R2, 5.03 firmware TA-88v3 users can M33 load custom firmware without flashing.

How to enable POPS, First download Firmware 5.00. Start PSARDumper and decrypt the 5.00 Eboot. Now Copy the “pops.prx” and “popsman.prx” from the F0 directory to your memory stick under PSP/GAME/CFWEnabler/Pops. And then “Enable Pops Support” from CFWEnabler

Oh and the PSP-3000 is NOT supported, yet…..

Fixed a problem when you change settings for the plugins.

Fixed a problem that caused a crasheo accessing plugins and have no plugin.

Improved detection of release.

Fixed a bug in the installation of the Pops (The PRX MD5 is different on each console, so the test worked, but then not)

v2.01:

Fixed a bug not detect either a previous installation (caused that could not be installed above the new version)

v2.00:

System pops native activation.

System configuration Custom Firmware.

Verification MD5 of files that are installed in flash, if you have not installed either, re-install.

Nice interface.

Safety flasheos unnecessary.

Protection from ChickHen load the Custom Firmware.
(It is necessary that this ChickHen in a folder called “ChickHEN inside Photo or Pictures.)

Changed version of the system (now shows 5.03 M33)

Tips:

When selecting the “Option O button: flash M33 custom firmware files into the flash” It doesn’t overwrite any files when flashing, but if your PSP was to lose power when writing to the NAND flash it could equal a brick. So make sure you do this with the PSP powered via the power adaptor and a full battery charge just in case!

POPs support: “The PRX MD5 is different on each console” so that means you have to make your own “pops.prx” and “popsman.prx” using one some else made won’t work it seems. Its unique for each PSP….

i got this to work on my slim PSP2003…..but my little sister wanted it but she has a PHAT PSP 1003 and when i try to load this on it I get a “This is not a PSP2000″. Is it possible to load this on that PSP or is there anything else I can do

Hey guys! I flashed my psp back as 1.0 now I have a firmware of 5.00 M33 which still works well but how can I get it back to 5.03 M33??

Guys if ur KD folder is missing you can open it through run then type in The Drive of ur PSP then KD folder. Like this: X:/KD/ X can be any letter that is assigned to u r psp!

hey guys! can anyone plz help me with my psp 2006 piano black with ta-088v3 mobo. i can’t play my iso. it always says “the game could not be started.” I have installed the cfw enabler 2.10 and it says in the system information i have 5.03 m33 fw. I also have changed the umd mode to m33 driver. but still i can’t play my iso. I haven’t tried any other iso, though! Plz help me!

  You are using cfwev2.10 right? If thats your problem, try to go back to cfwev1.0 and try to play y0ur iso again..

  mine works with chickhen r2 and cfwenabler… to activate the chickhen smoothly.. restore your psp to default settings and in about 1-5 tries, your chickhen mode…. then download the cfw enabler…..

Is this version support other POPSLOADER version?how to install different POPSLOADER version?Because I want to play PSX game Resident Evil 3. It stated that nid to use other POPSLOADER version to avoid freeze in the game. I cannot start the game! I think its in the plugins but i don’t know how to use it and I’m afraid to brick my PSP. Pls help! thanks alot.

How to make this WORK!!
1. Format ur memory stick
2. Restore to default ur PSP
3. Disable the UMD cache and Auto Read of UMD
4. Do the Checkhen and so on..

This should work fine..

Help me guys. How to install other POPS version in this CFWEnabler 2.10. Because I want to play Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. The game does not start, it freezes in PS Logo. I read in compatibility list that RE3 need to run other POPS version to avoid freeze in the game. And also you have to edit its ID something. I don’t know how to do this. Is this process safe and don’t end up a bricked PSP? Help me guys! Thanks again.

  1.download PSARDumper then put it in PSP/GAME
  2.copy the EBOOT file from the Firmware 5.00 then put it in the root of your MS
  3.then load PSRDumper that should work after this…

you currently cant since you need the pop from PSARDumper to make it work, you cant use a psp that u download somewhere else

yeah… better just use the PSRDumper… I’ve had a hard time figuring how to install that one too so I decided to just use the PSRDumper and so far it works just fine for me.

  Please can you explain more clearer. I said I already know how to use PSARDumper, I’ve done it before because I can play other PSX games. My problem is what will I do to PSARDumper to be able to switch to other versions. As far as I know currently my POPS version is 5.00..What will I do to switch to other versions? Have anyone tried playing Resident Evil 3? Mine is always freezing.Maybe required lower versions of POPS but I really don’t know how to do it. Please help! Thank you.

  You can use any path you like. Mine is working both. But if you really can’t get into ChickHEN in one folder (example:PHOTO folder) change to other folder (ex.PHOTO folder – can’t really load ChickHEN, change to PICTURES folder, or vice versa).

im a guy getting the 80000004 error, and what i did for fun is to format the drive, the flash0 3 pops file, put system to default , tryied to install it all over again but with 2.50 and when i try to install the f0 pops files to cfwenabeler 2.50 i get a new error which is more like a tru error, like prolle why the 8000004, maybe im wrong lol but well the new error is when patching pops for the first time with 2.50 = error calculating MD5 pops.prx )flash) MD5. ,maybe this can help to solve my prob <3 , thx again every1

guyssss with 80000004 i made it!!! i dont know how at 100% but try this , take the pops and popsman that you got from the encryption in f0/kd , cope paste them to your desktop, switch to flash0 mode in the cfw2.50 setting, go usb , in the kd folder of your flash 0 , put the 2 file from your desktop and voila, i think it was an error or copying i dunno , but this worked from me a direct copy paste, so tell me if it work for you guys !

  This is confirmed working! Just make sure to backup the files in your flash 0 and you’ll be safe

i dnt see the kd folder…..i turned on show hidden folders and turned off hide system folders but still it is not there????

in the same place oyu did that , there is a box to check or uncheck to see the protected windows operating file something like that, you need to be able to see then kd folder appear as one of them.

find a list of compatibility of pop for re director cut, cause if its only compatible with old pop version your screwed for now i think since we cannot use other pops version since there is only one that psardumper will create and its the only one you can use. To be sure try others ps1 game like syphon filter work good for me .

Hey guys!

My slim now will not do anything… I tried running a .cso that did not launch, which in turn shut down the psp, when I turn it back on, it shows a green light, but nothing on the screen, no button presses bring the screen up, and the backlight button is what I tried several times as well..

Looks like a brick, so be careful, I hadn’t updated my cfwe any higher than 2.10 yet…

It will not do anything, via ac adapter, leaving batt out for over a day…

any idea’s besides SOL?
