Custom Firmware Enabler 3.60 Released

Xenogears and Becus25 have released another build of their famous . Version 3.60 now and brings us the following changes:

- Free UMD Region.
- French language.
- Network update fixed.
- Version patching improved.
- SHA1 verification of installation.
- CFW flashing system improved.
- Code improved.
- Pops flashing improved.
- PBP is now smaller.

    Hi All,
    I’m using PSP 3004 original firmware 5.03.
    Mobo version (checked with PSPIdent 0.4) is TA-090v2, Brite 03g, Data Code 8D.
    Has some tried to run CFW and install Custom Firnware on it?
    I don’t want to brick my new toy….

    Yes you have exactly the firmware you need to run cfw do not update yet! So first you download chickHEN R2 follow the instructions in the readme. Make sure u get it to work, it will say 5.03 chickHEN R2 in system software. Now you can load Homebrew. Then download the file from this download site. Follow the instructions in the readme file, always. After that you will have a screen that looks like the one at the top of the page when you click on the CFW enabler icon in your games menu. Flash and start, and you can now load ISO CSO files.

    I can see that tis method of putting your psp in cfw means you cannot shut your psp down. The very same with cfw gen-a. But is there a way on one of these methods to set CTF themes?

    Hi guys,

    I’m using PSP 3006 with chickHEN R2 and CFW Enabler 3.30. The problem is only God knows how much i have to try to run the chickhen thing. And even if its works, I can only play a game or two before the system reboot to the original firmware. It annoys me much. Please can somebody help me? It sounds simple but it just doesn’t go away! BTW iim not using pandora battery.

    I heard that CHICKHEN R3 is coming out soon.And it will work with psp3000 vers5.50.
    and if i download it and install it into my psp, do u think that i can download this custom firmware enabler?

    question… i have cfw enabler 2.50 and i want to update i to the latest version which is 3.60… can i update directly to 3.60 and skip the other versions that were released before 3.60?? i’m confused.. tnx!!

    Will this work on the psp 3000 im a noob and will it have any problems?? and when I have games like cso and iso where do I put it please give the exact thing like not just imagine :in the you folder but where do I create a you folder? and also where do I put psx games? please I know im a noob so please help me and I need 5.03 right?

    Hello,

    I have a PSP-2004 TA88v3, i got chickHEN R2 loaded on OFW 5.03, and for the first time when i loaded CFWe 3.60 it worked just fine, but then later my battery ran out and i had to reload chickHEN, but now when i try to run CFWe 3.60, the PSP crashes after showing a blank screen and does not reboot. I have tried this many times but without any luck it keeps on crashing. Can you pls tell me whats wrong and how can i fix this.

    Also to clarify the PSP is not Bricked, its just that the CFWe 3.60 does not load.

    Looking forward to some help pleaseee…

    A quick step for PSP3006 owners:

    Preparation steps:
    ==================
    1. Check PSP3006 that it is on system firmware version 5.03.
    2. Download from Chick HEN R2 and Custom Firmware Enbler v3.60 and unzip them.
    3. Get a small and fast memory stick and formatted by PSP3006.
    4. Copy whole ChickHEB folder (which contains 4 gif files ChickHENa-d and slim.tiff) into PICTURE directory of the momery stick; Place h.bin in the root directory of the memory stick.
    5. Place CFWEnabler folder into the memorystick’s \PSP\GAME\
    6. Insert Memory Stick into PSP3006

    Activation Steps:
    =================
    1. Restore PSP3006 to the factory defaults
    2. After self-reboot from the restore, enter system default language, time, name, etc. and confirmed (the screen should be in Black & White.)
    3. Check and set UMD options are all “off”
    4. Check system version = 5.03
    5. Go to Photo and memory stick by pressing “o” button only. Let the system to read and display the gif and tiff files automatically. Don’t anything. After a few seconds, the screen should flash and self-reboot.
    6. Note: If no self reboot, then the ChickHEN load is failed and you can retry the above or seek someone else to help.
    7. After the self-reboot then check system firmware version. It should read “5.03 ChickHEN R2”. Otherwise, the ChickHEN load is failed and you can retry the above or seek someone else to help.
    8. Go to Game and memory stick and press “o”, you should see”3.60 CFWEnabler”. Press “o” to activate CFWEnabler. Donot press any and just wait forPSP3006 to self-reboot.
    9. After the self-reboot, check system firmware version = 5.03MHU.
    10. If yes, then 3.60 CFWEnabler is installed successfully.
    11. From here on, donot perform full power down. Standby Power Down is OK. But donot let PSP3006 completely drained.
    12. Otherwise, you need to restart the whole process from top again.

    Note: the whole process is very safe and does not impact your original PSP3006’s system firmware. Anytime, you can perform the system restoration back to the factory defaults.

    Hello Guys,

    I just thought its important to post this here, please be sure that you don not Overwrite a CFWe 3.60 with
    Gen-A or vice a verse without uninstalling the previous one at any point of time, because some times it causes problem and would not allow you to load Gen A or CFWe and the later keeps on crashing, it seems some problems occur when you re-flash the CFW. In case you have done this completely switch down your PSP and don’t try a reload for a couple of days (at least it worked for me). Then try loading a CFWe 3.51 which will ask you to uninstall the previous Flashed CFW, click on uninstall and then re install CFWe 3.51 this should hopefully install the previous CFWe, you can then repeat this last step again with CFWe 3.60 to restore you latest CFWe.

    Hope this helps, in case some faced a similar problem like me :)

    Hey, just wondering, I saw that the Undead Knights demo also posted on this site is said to world with 5.5 gen as long as you use version.txt

    I saw an option for version.txt in the CFWE 3.6 recovery menu, and I was wondering if it was possible to use version.txt with CFWE 3.6. If it is, where do you put the txt file? Any help is appreciated.

    I thought flashing anything in PSP-3000 means brick?

    Gah, something is wrong with my psp!

    Okay, so here is the story. I used to have CFW Enabler and it worked like a charm. However, I heard that the GEN-B system is much more sufficient (and can play Tekken 6) So i decided to try it out. However, no matter how many times I tried to run the program it never worked. I gave up and deleted the stuff, and put in this. The thing is, whenever I try to run it my psp turns off! Please don’t tell me GEN locked my psp!!! D;;;;;

    ok this is my situation … i just got my new psp (3006) and im tryin to hack it, i can get chickenhen r2 workin no problem but when it cums to gen A/B or cfwe they all do the same thing i flash the memory n when it needs to reboot into the cfw it just hangs(black screen) and shuts down, i turn it on maualy n im back to ofw 5.03 . They all do it cfwe 5.51 / 5.60 , gen A/B ….i seriously dont no wat to do, any geniuses out there who can help me figure this out would be much appreciated

    after like 5 days i finaly got it workin ……it was either 2 things
    - i had chickenr2 files in the root of the pictures folder and not in its own chickenhen folder that it came with
    - i started from scratch and formated my memory stick and started with just cfwe 3.60 …no ‘GEN B’ …so i guess i just overloaded the memory stick with junk from the other cfw, but its weird coz it was doin the shutdown problem when i started out with just GEN B
    anywayz hop this helps anyone else with the same problem
