Custom Firmware Enabler 2.51 Released.

2.5 Released.

Xenogears and Becus25 have released an update to their Custom Firmware Enabler, this small update is to address an issue causing PRX plug-ins to not load up properly. And before you ask, no it didn’t add PSP-3000 compatibility unfortunately.

What is CFW enabler? When used in conjunction with ChickHEN R2, 5.03 firmware TA-88v3 users can load 5.00 M33 custom firmware without fully flashing the NAND memory.

How to enable POPS in 2.5, First download Firmware 5.00. Start PSARDumper and decrypt the 5.00 Eboot. Now Copy the “pops.prx” and “popsman.prx” from the F0 directory to your memory stick under PSP/GAME/CFWEnabler/Pops. And then “Enable Pops Support” from CFWEnabler.

    I don’t see why a PSP 3000 version isn’t developed yet. If a custom firmware is developed for the PSP Go… I give up all hope on the PSP community.

    I dont play psx game, iso and cso are enough for me.. I think you should focus on how to permanently hack psp with ta88v3..

    to 2 in 1 the diff is that they tried to fix a bug in 2.50 which didnt happen so they released 2.51 which fixed it……dont know wats the bug

    Now that i have the copy of the custom firmware enabler. Chikkhen, and PSARdumper, can any one give me step by step procedure what to do with this, I have PSP OFW 4.01 from japan.can i play ISO games w/ these or just homebrew games. sorry but i really dont know much about these. Thanks in advance

      1. check your motherboard if it has ta-88v2 or lower (Determine using pspident, you need to activate chickhen first)
      2. if it has ta-88v3, enable chickhen (its easier to enable chickhen if you system is restored to default settings), then run CFWEnabler then choose flash and start. Then make a folder called ISO on the root of your mms. And Your DONE. move your iso/cso to the iso folder

      If You have 88v2 or lower, just use easy cfw installer.

      Did the 4.01 OFW came with the PSP?? or did u install it from 3.XX? (XX=number) If it came with 4.01 from the box then u can use chickHEN and install CFWEnabler but if u upda8ed it from 3.XX then u can install CFW.

      By the way. If it came out with 4.01 then it is unhackable but can load CFWEnabler. Hope this helps.

    hey ppl i have news i downlloaded the game gripshift and the save game exploit and then the blurry screen came out and i guess hacked my psp ta88-v3 i installen the gen cfw (because gen cfw is the only compatible cfw with the gripshift save game exploit) and when i off my psp it is still the cfw gen i will be posting a video soon
    note:i have the cfwe enabler

        hey 2in1 the gripshift game has a buffer flow invernability meaning it cant brick your psp besides my gripshift game was a rip

    Agreed with RAHUL. Start buying UMD rather than cheating sony etc. You may play ISO/CSO games, but if you LIKE IT, BUY IT!

    the game couldnt be started

      Run the CFWEnabler then go to settings.. then… (Looking into PSP) go to configurations.. then go down to UMD mode then press X to change teh Driver.. Make it M33 Driver.. this should help you to play ISO.. i think.. it worked for me.. Enjoy!!

    Shut the hell up about getting CFW on 3k PSPs. THIS IS NOT THE SITE WHERE THE HACKS ARE BEING MADE. If they can make it work THEN THEY WILL. If only to shut people up.

    hea DaedulusBear! I think you should shut up. This website is designed so that we can talk about anything anywhere. Anyways CFW on psp 3000 does have to do with this CFW enabler because it could encourage them to devolpe one for the psp 3000.

    hope all type of psp slim 200x will be compatible to the new chickHEN R3. Still few psp 2000 slim series can enjoy the chickHEN R2. Mine still not compatible with the present chickHEN released.

    Everybody!!! I Cant play Final Fantasy Crisis Core.. Could someone Help me? Everytime I run it it just Freezes and Shuts Down.. then.. you know.. what happens to chickHEN wen Shutted down.. Luckily I managed to run ChickHEN on it again.. Then Installs CFW.. I run the FF : Crisis Core.. the same thing happens.. Now im just playing DJ Max Portable 2.. Please help me… will crisis Core ever work for me? please reply..

    PS: I’m not willing to take to risk to run FF Crisis Core again this time..

      U probly have a bad or partial iso copy the game will start but if locks up all of it might not be there.. re-download it..

    Hey Hummer, if you learned to read you would see that they have said MANY times that they are looking into the PSP 3k hacks. Not to mention if you had read what I said, the person who runs this site DOES NOT have ANYTHING to do with the devs that create the hacks. He just finds the material and translates.

    I’m just tired of peoples real issues with getting this to work being buried under ZOMG MAKE FOR 3K PLZ KTHX posts that are not any way associated with this topic…. That’s why they have the fucking forums.

      You are right that the makers of the hack doesnt post this download. BUT when many people want something like a cfw for psp 3000 then usually somebody will make that happen. The makers of the hacks wont make them if there are no one to use/want them

      Already answered. Pls. read a little. For your sake I will repeat it for you. If other ISO games worked for you rather than FFVII your iso file is corrupt. Try deleting it in the MS then recopy again. If still freezes delete your old FFVII and download again a fresh copy. Try other links. This would fix your life risking for FFVII. LOL!

    what “without fully flashing the NAND memory.” mean?

      In your PSP you have a few flash caches and a main BIOS cache. With certain PSP’s, attempts to flash the main BIOS will cause your PSP to brick, or not function. What this CFW enabler does is flash to one of the minor caches which are rewritten every time you boot up your PSP, which is why you have to reload after every power down.

      I found in this version of CFWEnabler that plugins do in fact work, but when I launch the EBOOT and select plugins from the menu the PSP completely lockes up and shuts down. Therefore the plugin problem is half fixed you just have to activate them manually using usb

        I flashed pops as stated in the instructions (step by step) then converted the disc #1 of FF8 to eboot using PSX2PSP and everything works fine.
        Im still in 2.50 but when upgraded from 2.10 I did not have to re-flash the pops.
        I haven’t added any other plugin, just pops.

    Hi guys just a few noob questions,lol, I will like answered.

    1. After I run the custome firmware enabler 2.51and my psp will read 5.03M33?

    2. If I turn off my psp, will I lose the mod and I will have to run over CHickHEN R2 and the CFWE 2.51?

    3. Is there an easier way to run the CHickHen R2?

    4. If I have CFWE 2.50 already installed, who do I install CFWE2.51?

      I dont know all the answers to your questions because i have a psp 3000 but i can answer some

      2.It is only when you reset your psp when you will have to reactivate the exploit and the files will still be there
      3.There is no eaiser way to run the ChickHen (if you are having trouble activating the HEN then restore the setting to defalt settings on your psp then try it right after that. That always works for me.

      1.no it reads 5.00m33 since its made for that eboot firmware
      2.yes you will have to reload
      3.no there is not
      4.just run the eboot. it will already know that you have older version, so it will update.

      i don’t see why cxmb wouldnt work, as the only thing it flashes is what the FW belives to be PTF data, and it doesnt overwrite anything (Except the previous theme data )

      BOTH of their homebrew’s run promarily on HIS MODULES

      All HEN does is basicly the “Test M33″ feature you see on DC, just adding\removing some modules

      And all This does is load the iso modules….

      This IS DAX’s work.
