Custom Firmware Enabler 2.51 Released.

2.5 Released.

Xenogears and Becus25 have released an update to their Custom Firmware Enabler, this small update is to address an issue causing PRX plug-ins to not load up properly. And before you ask, no it didn’t add PSP-3000 compatibility unfortunately.

What is CFW enabler? When used in conjunction with ChickHEN R2, 5.03 firmware TA-88v3 users can load 5.00 M33 custom firmware without fully flashing the NAND memory.

How to enable POPS in 2.5, First download Firmware 5.00. Start PSARDumper and decrypt the 5.00 Eboot. Now Copy the “pops.prx” and “popsman.prx” from the F0 directory to your memory stick under PSP/GAME/CFWEnabler/Pops. And then “Enable Pops Support” from CFWEnabler.

    umm..just wanna ask,,,will this not brick my psp?? they say if you have as ta-088v3 mobo, it will brick if you try to flash custom firmwares…please enlighten me

      Guys i need some help… When i try to save ISO/CSO games my psp freeze and then shut down???
      Anyone knows how to fix this problem???

      umm dont do this first then to be safe.

      1.download and run chick-hen r2.(follow this guide and yea it may take lots of tries to get it to work[took me 27]) http://pspslimhacks.com/guide-to-chickhen-on-your-psp-3000-ta88v3/
      2.install this and run it once chick-hen works: http://pspslimhacks.com/pspident-04-find-out-what-psp-motherboard-you-have/ (u place it in game folder i think in main psp directory)
      3.if it says u got ta-088v3 motehr board then u can use this. if it says something lower then dont. (ex :ta-088v2) and research what u should do i dunno i got the ta-088v3(if its lower ure in luck)
      4.then* run the CFW enabler if it is ta-088v3.

      hope this helps just test before trying so u don’t brick it.(chick-hen nor pspiden cant brick it i think)

    elow… how about tweaking my psp… changing font… changing themes using homebrew… what will happen?? is it working… i want to change the boot logo (when starting a new game)… can i do that with my psp 2000 japan ver??

      u need emulators…and HEN only runs homebrew and few other emulators so u cant play any psp games with it nor psx(i still want someone to give a better guide on running these im lost)

      no u wont can u stop spamming now…lol just reply to your own post. and u cant rely flash, flash u still cant flash anything that dont go through HEN and then some so its rather risky if u dont do your reading.

      im also stuck…my psp plays psp games easaly but i tried loading an iso psx game and it just shows corrupted data. what format does psx game have to be in “and” how do u “Enable Pops Support” from CFWEnabler. can people post productive comments and not

        you have to use dumper to enable psx game;place the 5.00ofw to yer mem stick root; then run the dumper;after that copy pops.prx and popsman.prx to the folder of CFW enable; then run the program.

      well seems to use the same method of this one….just alot smoother ill probably switch is its as hard to play psx games on it. god dammit. its enoying to load them in CFE

    how to use eboot, i have a bust a groove eboot and i cant run it everything just restarts after loading the bust a groove

      install v2.10 then reinstall v2.51 and stay with CFWE and not GEN-A if your psp 2000

      nope to get it to work you have to install v2.10 then reinstall v2.51 and stay with CFWE and not GEN-A if your psp 2000

        ……i got a problem loading chickHEN on my psp….yes i have ofw5.03,h.bin in ms root and chickHEN folder in photo….actually i got 2 psp…one eu version and the other japanese version…i cant get it to work on the japanese version…do u hav a solution for this???

    How do I go about using this to play PSX games? I tried loading a PSX eboot with this enabled and it said “Game could not be started” or something to that effect. I am, however, able to run PSP games off of the memory stick fine.

    I found in this version of CFWEnabler that plugins do in fact work, but when I launch the EBOOT and select plugins from the menu the PSP completely lockes up and shuts down. Therefore the plugin problem is half fixed you just have to activate them manually

    Roma650. You’ll have to enable POPS in order to play PSX games. Then it will work. Read the guide^

    I have successfully installed CFW 5.00 m33 by CFW enabler.
    Everything works great. I can use Emulators….
    BUT when I load ISO game. I got a error msg: “Game could not be loaded: 80020148″

    I google around to do a kernel change 1.50
    should I do that? anyway I cannot go recovery mode by holding “R” + power button.

    Any sugguestions?

    umm….i dont see the option “Enable pops loader” …i already put the pops.prx and popsman.prx to the pops loader but i still dont see the option..help pls

    I have a problem, after doing the chickHEN and the cfw enabler, my firmware is already 5.03 M33. Why is it? Am I suppose to get 5.00 M33?
