Custom Firmware Enabler 2.50 Released

Xenogears and Becus25 have popped out another update to their Custom Firmware Enabler, sadly still no PSP-3000 support. This releaase features a few bugfixes and tweaks. When CFW Enabler is used in conjunction with ChickHEN R2, 5.03 firmware TA-88v3 users can load M33 custom firmware without full flashing of the NAND memory.

How to enable POPS in Custom Firmware Enabler 2.5, First download Firmware 5.00. Start PSARDumper and decrypt the 5.00 Eboot. Now Copy the “pops.prx” and “popsman.prx” from the F0 directory to your memory stick under PSP/GAME/CFWEnabler/Pops. And then “Enable Pops Support” from CFWEnabler

Changelog:

Fixed bug that prevented version and patching of the hen to leave a game.

Improved system pops, now you can install a flash version (whatever that is 5.00)

Fixed a bug that prevented either activate the plugins.

Improved detection system version, you can install over previous versions (not recommended).

Improved detection system model, no longer crashes with modified versions of the hen (original versions are recommended to avoid problems.)

Fixed a bug that crashed into the setup menu randomly.

Improved the patching system ChickHEN.

It is not necessary that the folder is called CFWEnabler.

I read on another page that you are supposed ton move pops popsman and impose prx to the pops files foldeer is this correct because i only used pops and posman

POPs doesn’t work.

I flashed those 2 POPs files.

Then I start Harry Potter 1 for PSX and it says Error 80000004.

Does anyone know a fix for this?

This is my tutorial for Pops..
there is no readme for CFWEnabler so here’s some help..

If you are getting Error codes (80000004) for loading pops you need to install it over

First load: chickhen r2, then any of the cfw enablers, hit select and
change Usb device from memstick to flash 0. Go into the kd folder ( you
need to have windows vista show hidden operating system files) delete 3
files pops.prx, popsman.prx, pops_installed.
“you do not have to delete popcorn.prx”
Exit usb connection change Usb device back to memory stick from flash 0
hold powerswitch up and do hard reboot or goto vsh menu and shutdown device..

1. load chickhen r2
2. load cfwe 1.0 (install into flash)
3. load cfwe 2.10 (install flash over 1.0)

load PSARdumper after loading cfwe 2.10 not b4

4. download PSARdumper put in PSP/GAME folder
5. download 5.00 sony firmware ( put the EBOOT.pbp in the root of your memstick)
This has to be done on your psp that you want pops to work on.
Here is the most Important part to get pops working “When in PSARdumper press X not [ ]”

6. Copy pops.prx popsman.prx into CFWEnabler/Pops folder
7. load cfwe 2.10 ( now install pops.. if it says overwrite the files push yes for everything)
8. load a PSX game. presto!

you can overwrite the cfwe 2.10 with the new cfwe 2.50.. install again
and flash pops once again.. everything will work if you have done it
correct in 2.10
Psx games must be .pbp format and put in the PSP/GAME folder

This process will fix the “Error 80000004″ when starting a PSX game. So pls. stop begging about how to fix this error. Anyways this process was posted here many many times. I don’t know why people don’t want to waste time reading for what their looking for.

Anyways could you help me about Resident Evil 3 to make it work? It freeze in PS logo at the start. It is said that I must use lower versions of POPS.Currently our POPS version is 5.00. And I don’t know how to install lower versions of POPS. Anyone tried? Could this end with a brick? Thanks.

When I try to do the step the 3 there is no flash and start the only thing in there is Settings and Pops Loader

dude, where do i find these pops.prx popsman.prx files. i loaded HEN, installed the CFW and then what? were the hell are these files i changed usb device into flash0 and i still cant find them.. HELP

whats the exact instruction on chickhen r2 coz it realy wont work on mine…..

what i did was
1. reset all settings to default
2. set the umd cache and umd start to disbled.
3. copy the chickhenr2 folder to g:\psp\photo\
4. copy the h.bin to g:\
5. go to the psp pictures then let it load the egg.gif and the slim.tiff

the psp freezes and shutdown….

is there wrong in what i did? i did it 10x yesterday and still the same it wont work

On your psp go to Photo->Memory Stick->Open the ChickHEN folder then scroll down fast, and let it just like that.

In my case, i used chickhen r2 n0t the modified one.. The h.bin file is 30kb and make sure you put that file in the root of your memory stick.. Then the chickhen folder must be on this path, ms/psp/photo/chickhen n0w your all set.. First, set your psp to default settings (dont change any settings after you restore it to default) after that go to photo folder and click the chickhen folder (dont scroll, let it load) if you are succesful, you will see a green color flash on your psp and it means chickhen was loaded on your psp..

question…will it rename the firmware?……coz it always flash the gree light….but it didnt rename the firmware to chicken…………..and also will chicken reboot my psp…coz it wont too…

Yes! Your firmware will became chickhen r2.. If the chickhen is succesful it won’t reboot your psp, it will only load the chickhen in your system. (note, if the process is succesful the green color will flash on your psp’s screen )

No, it won’t brick your psp.. Try as many as you can until you make it work.. Timing is also important in running chickhen..

I mean before you click the chickhen folder, pause atleast 3 seconds then you may now click it.. Its up to you if how many seconds you want..

Hey you guys.. I have installed this CFW and I want to run a plugin but how do I get it to activate. I hear you need to go into recovery mode but it never works. But I heard several people with motherboards of TA-088v3 have gotten plugins to run but how?

i got mine working am able to play iso..for those who get error after clicking game(u get pass the psp logo) then the error..put a game umd in the tray..
