Custom Firmware 6.39/6.35/6.20 PRO-B8 Released

Finally the PRO Team has released the official PRO-B8 Custom Firmware for Firmware 6.20 , 6.35 and 6.39!

Developers notes:
Too bad that I can’t really say I’ve been a big part in this one…

Yeah… my summer job ranks higher than PRO… sad but true. I hope I can get that one done fast…

On the bright side however, my companion VF does a great job to maintain the code in my absence!

Supported Kernel and Hardware Revisions:

* 6.20 [1g, 2g, 3g, 4g, 5g]
* 6.35 [1g, 2g, 3g, 4g, 5g, 7g, 9g]
* 6.39 [1g, 2g, 3g, 4g, 5g, 7g, 9g]

* [!]Vshctrl code refactored
* [!]Disabled “Pause Game” on PSPGo while ISO cache is enabled due to incompatiblity
* [!]Disable ISO cache by default on PSPGo
* [!]Fixed potential lag while displaying ISO movies
* [!]Added support for Popsloader in PRO

    Hey guys, I’ve been away for some time so I missed everything since the release of TN-D. I have a PSP Brite with TN-D and I want to use PRO-B8 instead of the TN-D. Should I just upgrade straight from the 6.20 OFW to PRO-B8 or should I also do something else before that? Thanks in advance.

    • NeW 1 says:

      I strongly recommned you uninstall TN-D first by running the same TN-D patch. Then you’re able to install you next LCFW.

    Which is the best CFW to use? There seems to be a few to choose from, I mainly want ISO/CSO play ability.
    My PSP currently has 6.00 OFW.

    • aod81 says:

      CFW pro-b is the best fw for gameplay. It has the most compatability for iso/cso’s. I’ve yet to come across a game that doesn’t work on the latest version of pro.

    I have messed up my PSP Go While fooling around with some of the recovery mode settings. I am not sure which setting did it but here’s what has happened.

    When the PSP Go is off and I use the original data cable and AC adapter I get no orange light and the PSP will not charge.

    With the PSP Go turned on, when I plug it into the AC adapter with the original cable it detects it as a USB data device and tries to connect. After a short period the connection fails so it does not charge.

    If I allow the PSP Go to connect to the laptop with the original data cable it charges fine whilst connected.

    The original data cable will also charge fine from a USB car charger when the PSP Go is on or off.

    Now for the strange bit; I purchased a 3rd party data cable and charger. The 3rd party data cable will charge the PSP Go normally from both the new and the original AC adapter. The old, original data cable still refuses to charge from either AC adapter and still tries to connect to the AC adapters as if the were a data device.

    does this work with psp 2000 slim? or will it brick?

    hey guys. Currently running pro b8 on 6.35.. I am curious if there is any benefit to upgrading to 6.39.. I am not worried about a perm patch, as fastrecovery only takes a second and works just fine on a cold boot. Just wondering if there is any compatability or feature benefit to 6.39 over 6.35.. Thanks in advance.

    Can i directly install 6.35PRO-B8 with ver. 5.50GEN-D3?

    • droyd666 says:

      I was wondering the same thing but i wasnt sure if it was really worth it to from GEN-D to PRO-B8. I havnt had any compatibility issues yet while using GEN-D so i will wait until games and apps are no longer supported by it but i might still give the PRO-B a try just to see what im missing.
