Custom Firmware 6.60 ME-1 Stable

Earlier we posted Nuer0n’s Custom Firmware 6.60 ME Beta 2. Well here’s the stable release of Neurons work labeled 6.60 ME-1. A LCFW (Lite Custom Firmware) will be out soon once some1 has finish working the new 6.60 kernel’s. Nuer0n was also kinda enough to port a few popular plug-ins to work on existing and future Custom Firmware 6.60 builds. You can also download these below

Release notes:

– What is this?–
This is CFW work on PSP1000 and PSP2000.

The degree of stability is still unknown.
Please test it on your own and refer to different people’s test reports.

From 5.00M33 -> OK
From 5.50GEN -> OK(may need to edit version.txt)
From 5.50Prometheus -> OK(may need to edit version.txt)
From 6.20TN-D -> OK

–How to Install–
First, you need to install CFW or HEN in your PSP.

1. copy UPDATE folder at ms0:/PSP/GAME/.
2. Put 6.60 official update at ms0:/PSP/GAME/660.PBP, or let the program download it for you can use a wifi connection.
3. Run installer from xmb.

– features —
Hold R trigger and turn on the psp, you can enter recovery menu.
Hold Home button and turn on the psp, you can Boot OFW.

I have 5.50GEN and want to update but I don’t get it since the 6.39 what they mean with “may need to edit version.txt”
What does that mean ?

need help again, my psp is saying that my system version is 9.90, how can I get pass that ?

  ……..go to VSH, change usb device to flash0, connect to PC via usb cable, go to VSH folder and look for VERSION.txt and edit all 9.90 to 5.50 and all 990 to 550.. save it then you’re done

    just found the first “9.90″ and chaged it to “5.50″ like you said, found no more then, the update starts but it says that no 660.PBP was found and I downloaded it from playstation.com and put it in x:\PSP\GAME and name it 660.PBP, and if I hit “x” for it to download, it kicks me out and gives me an 80020148 error after that :S
    
    I know I’m rusty since 5.50GEN I’m out of the PSP Scene but what am I doing wrong here or what am I missing ?

  your psp thinks it has version 9.90. since you try to update with a “lesser” version your psp won’t allow it. you have to access the text file that holds the version number and change it

  ROOT/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/660.PBP or try renaming 660.pbp to EBOOT.PBP are you sure u want 6.60? there is still no downgrader for it.. stick first on 6.39 since you’re using a hackable PSP

    you can upgrade to 660 me by using 6xx downgrader 4 by someone if you are in CFW state above or on 620 and having issues with version.txt. The downgrader will simply run the eboot regardless of version but you need CFW and as batter above 78%

hi guys please help i got a 16gig memory card 2 x 8gig sd cards in a pro duo adapter but it shows magicgate unknown i have lcfw 6.39 running on my psp 3004 but when i want to play the games it gives me 80010013 error game couldnt not be started please help

Guys there is no need to update to 6.60 CFW-for now it’s more like POC(proof of concept) then a complete and tested cfw-it’s just the first steps of the 6.60 CFW and despite the label stable it’s not very stable for now.
For old mobos I recommend 6.39 pro b8 with cipl flash and for new mobos 6.20 pro b8 + permanet patch

  Yes this is known for a long time-I would say it again-it will take time 6.60 cfw to be as good as 6.20/6.3X

    But as already said 6.60 cfws aren’t stable for now so I’ll advise U just to downgrade

Ok, Same guest from before. Now I KNOW something is wrong. Now the stupid thing won’t turn on unless I take my memory stick, currently a photofast adapter with 2 16gb micro sd cards, out & then power it on! What can I do to fix this?! Oh, and my game categories lite plugin won’t work either…rrrrrrr

    Well, I got my categories working, thanks for the tip anyway; now I just need to fix my memory stick issue. Once again, it’s a Photofast dual micro sd adapter with two 16gb cards. It seems t take forever to read it & when I fully power it up, it acts like it’s bricked. I have to take the memory stick out to power it on.
    
    It never did this on 5.50 GEN D-3. If there’s a way fix this or to downgrade either to 6.39 ME-9.2 or even back to 5.50 GEN D-3, any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!!

    As I said this must be caused by some enabled plugin or some bug from 6.60 ME
    I would recomend delete all plugins and install the ones that are compatible
    IF it’s still not OK go back to d3 then install 6.39 ofw and install 6.39 pro b8 + cipl

Got my categories working btw. Now it won’t even let me format my memory stick…this is extraordinarily infuriating…been up for over 3 hours trying to fix this. If there is ANY way of going back to 5.50 GEN D-3, PLEASE let me know!

I installed the firmware and now when I click the select button I don’t see the menu and I can’t control anything. When I turn and turn off the PSP THEN I see it. When I exit the menu I cant control anything. When I play a game, the same thing happens when I click the Home button. I can hear the game reacting to the button when I’m trying to select the Yes button to exit the game. Also, for example in Wipeout the car keeps going to the left. PSP wasn’t doing that before. Any ideas how to fix that? I’ll try to reinstall the CFW, but please suggest other things.

EDIT: reinstalling the CFW doesn’t help.

can neuron made a custom firmware without the need of reading the IDStorage because a lot of psp;s cannot update even with an official firmware im still stuck with 5.50gen d3 Neuron please do something if u can do it thanks for your work

hmm… i tried installing it after loading ChickHEN R2 and it asks me to download 660.PBP. i said ‘yes’ and now its just stuck at please wait….

i left it on all night and its still on that screen and i don’t believe there is a file called 660.PBP in the .rar file…
