Custom Firmware 6.39/6.35/6.20 PRO-B7 Released

Share

The PRO team has released an official update to their custom firmwares. For those of you using the nightly builds you should definitely move on to this official release as it’s sure to be much more stable, plus it’s got tons of improvements. This custom is for all PSP’s and has the new memory speed up feature that is very similar to Dark_ALex’s old MS speed hack, which helps improve read rates.

To clear things up, some unofficial builds have incorrectly been referred to as “″ This build is the OFFICIAL release, straight from the developers themselves. Sorry for the confusion in the past.

Anyway, here is the changelog for the official PRO-B7 build:

[!] Fixed NODRM Engine (DDF012 DLC Costume Bug)
[!] Improved Inferno Game Compatiblity (GTA China Town, Corda2f, etc.)
[!] Updated scePower_driver NID Resolver
[!] Added Configuration Reset on PRO Update
[!] Added DA psp-packed user module support
[+] Added UMD VIDEO / GAME XMB Mount Feature (No UMD required, allows for Game Updates)
[+] Added Custom IPL Flasher for 6.39 PRO (1g, 2g hackable mainboard permaflash)
[+] Added non latin1 filename support
[+] Added memory stick speedup option
[+] Added ISO cache option (available in Inferno and NP9660)

As stated before, if you’ve been keeping up with the nightly builds then this release should include many improvements. A big hanks to all the developers who contribute to this project, including Coldbird, VirtuousFlame, neur0n, and anyone else I’ve missed. Keep up the great work guys!

  • angel

The sdk file is for developers, you don’t need it. Just put the proupdate and fast recovery files in psp/game and the rest should be easy.

thank you, i was wondering what it was for and i thought it was important to the update.

Is PSP Custom Firmware 6.39 PRO-B7 Permanent on The PSP Go?
Is anyone Permanent on PSP TAv83.

only 6.20 pro-b is permanent on psp tav83

    • NeW 1

@rob. yes it is permanent on the TA-088v3 PSPs. However, i only installed the ‘PRO-B7 6.20′ on it since my current OFW is 6.20.

I love the PRO team. No homo. I swear those guys are making the world a better place. If you guys are ever in Jamaica say hey. Nuff respect. Thanks Guys.

i live down by the beach, can i call that jamica?

LOL. Ur funny Beldra. It’s strange how most think that Jamaica is a beach populated with rastas. U would be surprise if u visit.

  • joseph

lol the psp vita has game cartridges now so they say , so it will be hackable , i think sony learnt their lesson with the pspgo with the lack of a umd system

    • Yoshi King

there still won’t be a UMD slot on the VITA. They’ll be using cartridges like the 3DS

      • joseph

        thats what i just said

      • Wamphyri2b

I hadn’t heard that, but I haven’t really kept up on the Vita much. I’d rather be happy with the launch product then mad at everything they promise but drop to save cash, lol.
I have to say though, adding DS/3DS cartridge type access on it is one of the dumbest things they could do. I see PSV Flashcarts within a year, lol.

      • MrZer017

agreed, man they really amped up their stupidity.. UMD’s cannot be pirated ,they did good on that but why the heck did they go for cartidges? it’s like telling a fat kid not to eat at mcdonalds or something..

nope, i’m afraid the lag issues in crisis core is dependent on the model.. psp 1000′s get lags on cutscenes while slims and go’s don’t..

Where I am making mistake? I put the 2 files (proupdate and fast recovery) in the psp/games folder. After that I have started proupdate file from the psp, everything went good, in the System Info I had information that this is 6.30 Pro CFW but when I switched off the console and after that switche back on I shold have install CFW again. Is this normal? I thought I should’ve have the CFW without reinstling it back after switch off?

    • 2die4

after you install the cfw you need to do the recovery every time you switch it on one folder is called pro update and the other recovery

I currently have 5.03 GEN-C on my psp 2000.. I know this CFW is really old. :) I was not able to update it for a long time. Will this new CFW be compatible with my psp? Or do I have to update it first to 6.39 from SONY and install PRO-B7?

    • NeW 1

update it to either OFW 6.20, 6.35 or 6.39. I’d recommend updating to OFW 6.20 and then installing ‘PRO-B7 6.20′ as it’s got a permanent patch, but it’s your pick. Once you have updated to the OFW of your choice, you then pick the PRO CFW corresponding to your chosen OFW. If you still need help let me know.

    • NeW 1

I think it’s one of the main compatible ISO modes for playing games. The way how i think it’s used is, if one mode doesn’t work on a game or you experience problems when playing, you basically switch modes until one complies with it.

I bought a PSP 3004 with firmware 6.30 (my first PSP).

I want to be able to run ALL ISO/CSO games (such as Tekken) which could be downloaded via Torrents.

Can anyone please direct me to the best hack? I’m only interested in running offcial games (no homebrew stuff).

    Thanks!

Hi ppl , cam any 1 tell mi how to upgrade from prob6 to b7 thanks

    • NeW 1

run the ’6.20 PRO-6′ patch to uninstall it. Then run the ‘PRO-7 update’ file and then the ‘PRO-7 patch’. Make sure you run the ‘test mode’ just in case.

  • Log70

Running Flashed 6.35 (6.35 PRO) on PSP 3001
    Attempting to run the 6.35 PRO-B7/6.39 PRO-B7
Neither are coming up as runnable. Both are corrupted. I have downloaded several times. I then assume it’s that I need to run the CIPL Flasher first than run the CFW update. The Flasher stops on startup and says “FW ERROR.”

Any Idea’s? I’m sorta a noob to this kinda stuff. If any downgrading is necessary please say so. I can downgrade to as low as 5.00 OFW.

    • NeW 1

DO NOT use CIPL Flasher on your PSP 3001, you will brick it. CIPL Flasher is for PSPs that are fully hackable. As i’ve mentioned in my other posts, i suggest you downgrade to 6.20 OFW, then use the ’6.20 PRO-B7′ patch and see how it works out; i’ve personally never had any problems with it. Again, use the ‘test run’ feature when installing any patch: if it takes you back the the XMB/Main menu on the PSP, then it works fine for you PSP.

guys plz help me.i was gone from the scene and now im back so im still in 6.31 wich hen/cfw is the best i can get now??? plz answer

    • NeW 1

No problem. Just update to 6.35 OFW – or alternatively downgrade to 6.20 if you want – and then use the ’6.35 PRO-B7′ version. Since I had no problems on the ’6.20 PRO-B7′ version, i’d recommend you downgrade and use that one.

Anyone please help me?? i hav psp go with 6.20 OFW (after downgrade from 6.38)…i don’t know anything about psp stuff like hack or such.honestly i’m just a noob.can someone tell me what should i do, what cfw to install and is it risky that it may brick my psp?hope you can give me instruction. the reason i want to install cfw is bcoz i want to play djmax 3 and get custom firmware theme.pleasee help me!!!

    • NeW 1

Alright, you’ll need to tell us what kind of PSP you have. Do you have a PSP Phat, Slim, 3000 (a.k.a, brite) or a PSP Go? What firmware is it on?

      • http://vamcyberassassin.blogspot.com/ theDUDEwithN0manner

forgot what i just said in the previous comment. : ) … okay, i had a psp go, 05g, with OFW 6.39.
can u tell me what cfw should i install? i just got a psp and donno anything and i also don’t want my new psp to brick as well… i just want to play djmax 3 and to get cfw theme.. thats all.thanks for reading this.wish u can help a fresh noobs like me.

  • NeW 1

Sorry about that, i read your post too quickly. Alright, since you have 6.39 OFW, you’ll need to use the ’6.39 PRO-B7′ version. It’s really easy to use,, you can’t go wrong.

    • http://vamcyberassassin.blogspot.com/ theDUDEwithN0manner

so, i just install pro-b7=6.39 pro-b7…i don’t hav to downgrade to 6.20 and then use 6.20pro-b7…okay..i’ll try..thanks for your time!

  • ?

to all psp 2000 – ta88v3 mobo, 3000 – 3g,4g,7g,9g, GO – 5g owners with official 6.39 firmware, use the cipl flasher after installing the pro b7 update then comment here what happened. =)

  • http://vamcyberassassin.blogspot.com/ theDUDEwithN0manner

thanks to new one for your time! but 6.39 doesn’t hav permanent for psp go coz i read that it may brick so i just install 6.20 pro-b7 PERMANENT and it works fine for now.can i delete the 6.20 pro, the fast recovery, and the permanent patch in the game xmb menu after i’ve install the permanent 6.20?my psp already got permanent cfw so, does my psp still need those 3 file?MILLION THANKS TO = The PRO team!!! now i can play djmax 3!

    • NeW 1

Always glad to help. Sorry, i should have mentioned that ’6.39 PRO-B7′ didn’t have the permanent patch as i just assumed you wanted to stay on OFW 6.39. And no you don’t need these three files anymore, the perma-patch and recovery works fine without them now that it’s been flashed permanently. In regards to the recovery menu, I’ve tested it on my PSP: you can access it via the VSH menu and when pressing ‘R’ trigger during boot up without any problems.

      • http://vamcyberassassin.blogspot.com/ theDUDEwithN0manner

        thanks for telling me this! i’ll delete those 3 file~ : )

Does anyone having problem with dissidia 012.. My game start but it crashed in the starting of Lightning story.. When i click to play lightning story the whole display turn white.. Now i cant progress a single step.. Plz help..:’( :’(

    • New 1

Normally there’s something wrong with the ISO/CSO file itself in cases like yours, but have a go at changing the ISO modes and see if it fixes your problem. Otherwise i’d recommend you getting another ISO/CSO file. I have been playing DISSIDIA 012 for some time and never experienced any problems on PRO-B7 and recent versions too.

  • Imran_peter

My firmware 6.20 pro-b7 in psp3004.. Plz give me solution about how to play dissidia012 duodecium..

Did you even try out the advice i gave you above? changing the ISO mode in the recovery menu may fix the problem.

      • Imran_peter

Thanks so much new1.. Yeah the problem occurs for some plugin.. I just formatted my memory stick now Dissidia works.. Thanks so so much..^_^

  • Kanyaman

my psp is slim 2000 with TA- 088 v1/v2 and has 5.50 prometheus what update s possible for me thanks. which is the three update will be compatible for my device.

    • New 1

It all depends on which OFW you are on – or which OFW you want to update to if you’re currently lower than 6.20. There’s a permanent patch for the ’6.20 PRO-B7′ version so i think it’s best you go to that one. The permanent patch will be stored on the flash so PRO-B7 launches everytim the PSP is switched on. When you do choose to install the permanent patch, make sure you run the ‘test feature’ first. When running the test feature, it should take you to the XMB/Main menu to show that it works for you PSP. If it freezes then it’s not compatible with the PSP, but with your PSP model that’s highly unlikely. Hope this helped.

      • Kanyaman

thank you so much. and good day.

  • poopie

how is this different from the leda thing, im gonna try to update my psp after a looooooooong time, i think its on prometheus.
