Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-5 for PSP 1000 & 2000 *Updated*

8th of June update: has added the following to -5 : Added RecoveryMenu option in VshMenu.- Fixed OEdriver bug. Download below as per normal.

Nuer0n doesn’t seem to sleep as he has pushed out another CFW update. Custom Firmware ME-3 has been released which adds a few more extras. Most notable is the Make AutoBoot Battery in the recovery menu. Downloads below.

Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-3 changelog:

  • Added ResetVSH in VshMenu.
  • Skipped sceLogo after exit RecoveryMenu.
  • Added “Make AutoBoot Battery” option in RecoveryMenu.

After the fast release of LCFW 6.39 ME-3, releases and update to his normal Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-3 for hackable 1000 & 2000 Models. Don’t try this on a TA-88v3 or you’ll brick it.

Changelog:

      How you tryed holding down the L-trigger? but take out the battery, and plug-in the AC charger! Helped me when i bricked mine :) or was it semi-brick. .

    i am still using custom firmware 5.50 promethius 3 and i also tried custom firmware 6.39 but cant play some playstation 1 game, game category isnt working too, pop loader doesnt work. iam going to wait until something better comes.

      you dont need popsloader for 6.39 fw they have more compatibility with most psx/ps1 games and actually popsloader does not work on 6.38=>6.39 cfw/lcfw,try to download the patched game category for 6.xx firmware and download ctf themes for your specific fw….

        why are you actint like a baby, are you listening to what iam saying 6.39 doesnt play all game psx game. psn store doesnt have all the psx classic, which mean i have to create my own and that is when 6.39 fail do you get it now! you see where iam coming from!

        The best custom firmware out there is 5.50 d3

        2. Have you even tried if psx works? If not, get lost.
        3. There are LCFW’s for 6.39 and full CFW’s. You can download your legally owned psx game as a psp eboot by using thepiratebay etc.

      Dude relax. 5.50 GEN-D3 has loads of bugs, i had lots of problems with mine when i had it. That CFW has to be the worst ever!

        I totally agree GEN-D3 was a really bad cfw as soon as I installed it I switched back to my old M33-6 cfw… BUT now there’s these cfw’s which aren’t that bad :D
        I have alot of respect for Neur0n keep up the good work
        (I’ve been in the psp scene ever since chickHEN for 5.03 first came out for psp 1000 and I can assure you that I’m no noob) :D

      Ignore the noobs above. It DOES work if you change the Fake Region in vsh menu to Debug I

    My daughter psp is 2004 and its been hacked before by CFW 5.0 M33, but she accidentally update its to OFW 6.37 OFW and she cannot play iso,,cso file anymore. what should I do, is this hacked will work any advice

      DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL 6.39 ORIGINAL FIRMWARE THEN DOWNLOAD PRO-B6 AND INSTALL IT.

      The M3 firmware is set to UMD driver by default , you need to go into recovery mode and enable iso driver ..
      bad thing about this cfw is that VSHmenu wont show up when u press select (at least on psp3000)

    i really like this , when my psp is 6.39me-3 then i switch to 6.39pro-b6 after i fully off the my pro-b6 it turns into 6.39me-3 again so cool , i played 6.39pro-b6 bcuz of dragon ball tenkaichi :D cuz it doesnt work no me-3 :(

    Will ,tried to install this CFW 3 Times from 5.50 Gen-D3 ,and i got a brick each time ,i tried also from 6.38 Me-2 ,and my psp got bricked again ,can Somone help me i dont want to keep pandorizing the hall week.
    i’m gonna try and install another CFW then the 6.38 Me and see what’ll happen.

        i’ve tried the method that you gave me but it gives me a new Error ( cannot decrypt 1g table ).
        i’m getting tired from pandorizing my PSP ,maybe i’l stick with 5.50Gen-d3 promethus

    I wonder if somone here can help ,i had CFW 6.38 ME-2 Installed on psp slim 2004 , and i tried to install CFW 6.39 ME-2 ,but the upgrade process stopped at 89% and i got the folowing message (LPFFFFFFFFFFFE) or someting like that ,and my psp got bricked ,i reinstalled 5.50 Gen-D3 and tried to install 6.38 Me-2 or 6.39 ME-2 or 6.20 but i keep geting the same error ,so if somone can help me out so i can enjoy the benifits if the marvelous 6.39 Me-3 i’ll appreciate it a lot.

      I think you should upgrade to 6.39 OFW first,that’s because 6.38 kernel is different from 6.39.
      Then download the installer for the 6.39 ME-[X] for your PSP then fire it up from the XMB.

        i already tried to install 6.38 OFW / 6.39 OFW / 6.20 OFW ,but i still get the same Error ,i have event formatted the All the flashes but no luck at all.

    No freezing unlike Pro freezes most games…. More plugins are compatible…. And is the latest 6.39 perma CFW for hackable psp’s…

    ive found some bugs:
    - Some games doesnt work (tried all cpu speed and driver combinations). E.g. Bejeweled, ys seven 1 and 2.
    - No sounds when connected to tv via psp av cable,but works fine using the ofw (holding home while bo0t).
    - Some umd works only on Normal driver, cannot be started on other drivers.
    - Save data cannot be viewed, when cxmb enabled.

    Installed this version but when I run Vagrant Story (converted by Klown), loads the psx bios and them give the 80010002 error. I’ve already set the speed 333 in vsh menu, for both xmb and game.

    There’s any solution?

      that’s because custom made psx game, people usualy make custom game when they cant find it in psn store so they download the original psone iso game and convert them with (iceTea 1.3) or psx2psp!

      what firmware are you running on and what psp do you have?

      download/rip an unpatched tekken iso…. totally clean…. then use np9660/me driver….

      hope it’ll fix the problem….

    Congratulations for all the efforts, but I must say that I’m using cfw 6.39 pro b-6 on my psp 3000 and I have no problems with it. Although I don’t have any experience with those ME CFW’s, but they seem to work only with 1000′s and 2000′s. The PRO CFW work with all models, even GO.
