Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-5 for PSP 1000 & 2000 Updated

8th of June update: Nuer0n has added the following to Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-5 : Added RecoveryMenu option in VshMenu.- Fixed OEdriver bug. Download below as per normal.

Nuer0n doesn’t seem to sleep as he has pushed out another CFW update. Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-3 has been released which adds a few more extras. Most notable is the Make AutoBoot Battery in the recovery menu. Downloads below.

Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-3 changelog:

Added ResetVSH in VshMenu.

Skipped sceLogo after exit RecoveryMenu.

Added “Make AutoBoot Battery” option in RecoveryMenu.

After the fast release of LCFW 6.39 ME-3, neur0n releases and update to his normal Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-3 for PSP hackable PSP 1000 & PSP 2000 Models. Don’t try this on a TA-88v3 PSP or you’ll brick it.

Hey guys, can someone answer a few questions for me? I updated from 5.50 prom-4 to 6.39 pro b-7, should/Can I change to ME-5? What are the diff between the 2? Also I know how to get to the recovery menu by holding down R, but what options should I pick. I picked m33 for iso loading, should I change that to something better, is their something better? I also know how to load OFW by pressing down Home while booting up the PSP. Can i puchase stuff from PSN while booting into OFW? Can I play on PSN while being loaded into OFW? Sorry for the basic questions but after looking up for some answers they are not that easy to find. If anyone can help me great, if not thanks anyway!

sup guys im going to get my gf a psp go shes got a slim which i cfw for her along time ago since the psp keys were leaked etc whats the cfw story on psp go my girl usually plays the cps1 cps2 neo geo and ps1 games i covert for her like spyro and crash etc will the psp go with cfw do this

  hey keith, You should try it your self for you to see.. But here are the answers for you question..
  ok for the comparison, For me ME-5 is better because most games play well on ME driver. I noticed that when I use Pro, I have to switch iso drivers often for compatibility issues but ME has less of it..
  About the PSN, you can use it flawlessly even un ME state. (no need to go to OFW state). I can buy games, play them, download demos, play them of course. You can use it fully functional. So try it.. See for your self.. And good luck mate..!!

    BTW… You may want to use Sony Media Go to back up your official PSN downloads just so you downgrade, you may reactivate them again… If not, there will be a license error… you can install ME while PRO enable or by using the CFW 6.39 ME-2 installer for OFW 6.39… Be sure your psp is 1g or 2g…

Is it possible to add Prometheus M33 Driver and NP9660 Driver to your next firmware release. Because for me some old games such as Tekken 6 don’t seem to work..

Is it okay to upgrade from Prom2 to CFW 6.39 ME-5? I’m using PSP 2000. And what is the difference between this one and the Prometheus CFW? and lastly, can I play GOD Eater Burst and Patapon 3 in this CFW? Your answers are greatly appreciated^^

  you can upgrade, but you need to edit version.txt in flash0
  ( or the psp will say by updating you have version 9.90 lol)

6.39 cfw is like the old golden 1.50 cfw redux it can beat sony at their own game meaning meaning 1.50 cfw,6.39 ofw, and sony had a threesome and made a smart intelligent baby lol it does everything like the ps3 commercial says i havent found one thing it doesnt do everything works everyone needs to get the 6.39 me cfw and forget the old crap i hope they get it to work on the pspgo then i will get one of those too nuff said later

hey i was wondering if anyone could be able to make a custom firmware for 6.39 but i need to be able to open up the VSH menu with something other then the “select” button. like maby be able to open VSH with the “home” button again?

I haven’t been caught up with CFW in awhile but I still have 5.00 m33-6. Is it worth it for me to upgrade to this ME-5 FW? If so, what are the pros and cons. I am fine with my current CFW but I assume it is outdate and missing new features.

hey if any one reading this man please help me
i upgraded from 5.50 prome-4 to 6.39 me-5 i installed it completely no error
but when the psp restarted it wont show xmb or boot up sony logo
but when i press R-trigger it goes to recovery well showing 6.39 recovery menu at top
and also it boots up as ofw 6.39 while holding HOME button
the problem is that it wont boot up as cfw it stucks at the start and then shutsdown

please help me help me i m n real trouble!!!!!!!!!!

hey guys, i got a question. Im on 6.39 ME cfw now and im am trying to play metal gear solid peace walker for multiple player but it seems that me and my friend cant pair. We are on the same cfw. Hey folks..currently running 5.50 prom-3 on my 1001..I cannot play Tatics Ogre as I need 6.35 upgrade..which custom firmware would U all suggest…I’m a little out of the Phatty loop as I’m running 6.35 pro on my Go and Brite and Slimmy…haven’t used a phat in a while..thankz folks..(I’m a little busy rite now to check our forum,sorry)

Well Final Fantasy Type-0 necessity a high custom firmware which means I can’t play it with my 5.00 M33-6
