Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-A coming…

and the guys behind 5.03 GEN-A firmware for the PSP-3000 are working on Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-A. Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-A which will be out soon will give users the features of 5.50 but with the homebrew options of . Reading the translations from French its clear the PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 are only supported at this stage. And we can expect to see a release before midnight Friday 12th (French time) And for the PSP-1000 (PSP Fat) 1.50 kernel add-on Custom Firmware for 5.50GEN.

PSPGen have also noted that they are working on 5.03 GEN-A v2 too, but 5.50 GEN-A will be released first. We’ll keep you posted.

Note that we also work on a V2 and V3 of 5.03HEN-A which should offer some new significant and appreciated. However, wanting to please everyone, we put these online versions after 5.50GEN-A.

        I understand your confusion due to bad translation LOL! It’s only for flashable PSPs (PSP 1k and 2k v1 or v2) and this is a permanent CFW..

        Your making yourself look stupid.. 5.03 GEN-A does support PSP 3k via HEN but NOT 5.50 GEN-A.. If you read carefully, it’s only for PSPs that are flashable (PSP 1k and 2k v1 or v2)..

    its given as psp 2000 v1 and v2…….. both are hackable and downgradable… so whats the big deal… and the 5.5 OFW features aren’t mindblasting…..

      It’s not for HEN and it’s only for flashable PSPs..

    So is this a hack for those with 5.50 OFW or is this CFW with the same features as the OFW 5.50?

    I’ve got a TA-088v3 motherboard and my firmware is OFW 5.50 so is this some light at the end of the tunnel for me or am I reading this wrong?

    what ever happened to the updates on homebrews on this site? this site got me into the psp scene again but ever since the cfwe and gen-a came out the writer of this site has not been doing updates on homebrews :p anyway I know 5.50 firmware hack will be real b/c gen-a was made from the ground up.

      When it comes out for v3/3000 it will need chickhen on 5.03. it will be like the gen it has now.

      Don’t you know why we can’t put permanent FW on those consoles? its because the pre-Ipl checks… look it up

    All I can think is that they are creating their own homebrew in other words their own ChickHEN to run this 5.50 GEN A… At least of what I know ChickHEN does not support 5.50 only 5.03…

      It clearly says that it’s only for flashable PSPs meaning, PSP 3k and PSP 2k with 88v3 are not supported.. It is for 5.50 OFW and it is a permanent CFW ..

    The news editor that made this post is stupid. This is not close to good news for those who upgraded to 5.50, because it only works on “hackable” PSPs (as they state: PSP1000 and PSP2000 v1 and v2 — not v3) which can be hacked with Pandora even if they’re on 5.50. This is not an exploit in the 5.50 FW. Those who have a v3 and/or PSP3000 and have updated to 5.50 still have no chance of getting homebrew for a long time. Stop posting crap on the website.
