Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-A on its way...
EDIT: CFW 5.03 GEN-A is out !!, now that didn’t take long did it. Get it here.
PSPGen have posted a FAQ for their soon to be released Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-A for Hen, which by the way was meant to be released about an hour ago…. I guess we will see it today? (6th of June) They have commented that its not fake, will not cause a brick and that installation is easy. You just select what PSP model you have either a PSP-2000 or PSP-3000 and the installer takes care of the rest.
We hope PSPGen can at least release this today, as I’m sure we’re all growing tired of seeing these hyped up releases only to be followed by delays.
Here is the FAQ PSPGen have posted, again this is translated from French into English.

I have followed the instructions all was ok. I’ve got cfw 5.03 Chicken R2. But, After flashing, then I press O, my PSP simply turns off instead of rebooting into the CFW. anybody can help?

I’m having the same problem. The firmware is 5.03 ChickHEN R2. The files for cfw 5.03 gen a confirmed transfered to the MS. I verify this via the existence folder files in the MS root (12 files inside).
I’ve ran the install-loader and installed the cfw into flash once (press R). But after I press O, it simply shutdowns istead of reboot into the cfw.
I’m using PSP2006v3.

i was looking for post 18, but post 18 seems un related. was expecting the cause was due to non-originial MS i am using. It is not. It is caused by non-original source of the cfw.
For anyone having the same issue, you can download directly from pspgen and the problem solved.

as long as you put your psp into stand by mode you will not have to repeat this process but if you shut it down you will have to…..!!!! im tired of telling people this !!!! read through the forum before you ask!

Any ideas on how to run PSN Demos under GEN-A on a PSP 3000? The demos run fine under ChickHen R2, but can’t run them when I go to 5.03 GEN-A.

when i execute the wizard to install the CFW I type in the drive letter where my PSP is conected but it doesn’t copy the files to my PSP it just copies them onto th same folder where the LAUNCH ME icon is WHAT DO I DO???? should i just copy and paste the “files” folder manually directly onto the PSP any help is great THANKS!!!

can anyone please help me???? i was able to load the chickHEN r2, now when i try to run the “lunchme.exe” for the gen-a.. it says “the program fails to initialize the application (0×0000135)”. so i tried downloading stuff, and was able to get the loader. when i ran the loader, it says systemctrl_02g.prx not found so i downloaded dark_alex’s file for that, but now it’s saying pspbtjnf_02g.bin not found!aborting!!!……. help me please, i think im missing a whole file. someone sent me a file but i think it’s for psp3000.. help!! please…

Right now there is also a CFWE (CFW enabler) 3.50 (Actually 3.60 also) as long as chickhen works just go to the eboot and then flash and start! although its easier, u will get m33 CFW. maybe that could be better. it is for me
