PSP Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-6 Released
Dark_AleX has released Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-6. This same update is DAX’s attempt to correct the low speed Memory Stick issues that has been somewhat of a problem for some users since 3.71 firmware was released.

What type of PSP you got and Mobo? You might be able to start M33 CFW with the HEN.

I have upgraded to 5.00 m33-6 but when i try to launch a game it says that the game could not be started (80020321) Anyone has any advice?

Get the official 5.00 firmware, rename it to 500.PBP, place it in the UPDATE folder alongside the EBOOT.PBP for 5.00 M33-6, put it in /PSP/GAMES/, turn on your PSP, select the update as a game, follow the on-screen instructions.

what’s better is if you just download the m33 from http://www.dark-alex.org and then when you go to install it from the psp it will promp you to download the official firmware.. it will do it automatically for you and then you can just update from DAX’s website through the PSP from there on. xD good luck xD

You should download official 5.00 Eboot then put it to the folder UPDATE with the name of 500.pbp
I guess you were change the file EBOOT in the UPDATE folder
But I do not recommend if it’s true that 09 games aren’t working
If your PSP is 2000 series 3.71 M33-2 will be allright

first you need to install custom firmware, after that you can update as above method by putting official firmware update and custom m33-6 in the same folder called “UPDATE” and by putting it in “GAME” folder on your memory stick.

how come all 09 sport game doesn’t work in this firmware, i got madden 09, basketball 09,Fifa 09 is working before when i have 4.01 M33-2, then when i updated with 5.00 M33-4,6, it doesn’t work anymore, now i can’t down grade anymore …. anyone can help me???? and yeah people if you have 4.01 M33-2 keep it like that ….. i think there is no point keep on updating your firmware as long as everything is working …..

I am having the same problem and I have a severe case of PTSD, and if you put 2 and 2 together something bad is going to happen. I hvent been to sleep for 3 and a half days now because I have to finish this task before I am a ease.

I don’t have any 09 sports game to try at this moment, however, if I were you I will try switch to a different UMD ISO Driver in VSH menu to find out:
There are 3 different driver you can try:
M33
OE isofs
Sony NP9660
For the games I have, all three works.

I am new in this homebrew thing, so please bear with me. A frien modded my psp to the 5.00 m33-4, he then gave me a few games in a .pbp format, how can i play those? I have no problem with the .iso or .cso.

put the .PBP in a folder lets say the pbp is a psone game make a folder u can use i remember 25 character to name it then put the pbp inside the folder you just made then that folder put it inside your “GAME” folder mmm something like this
x:PSP/GAME/”FOLDER U MADE”
now check the psp and u should see the game

Could you play ISOs Before w/o 5.0 M33-6?
If no then maybe you havent successfully installing the CFW. or “SonyNp90″ (something like that) isnt enable.
To check: Put a UMD in your Machine, Then Start the ISO. It would fix your Problem.

I downloaded a game wich I had the licence of and every time I play it moving foward is realy slow but moving backwards etc. is as fast as normal does anyone know how to fix this?

For some reason, I formatted the flash0 memory of my freakin’ psp… but b4 that i copied the whole thing in it including the hidden files and placed it in my desktop. after formatting… i restored all the files and exited from the recovery menu but then my psp wont open already… what will i do? please help me….

Hi,
I just downgrade my psp slim from 5.00 M33-6 to 5.00 M33-4… with using the psp tool v0.8…However I need to downgrade to 3.71 M33-4 actually…but not very sure do I need the official firmware 3.71 update file and change the file name to 371 or 300.PBP and put into the root of memory stick then run the psp tool and select the proper dcv in order to downgrade to 3.71 M33-4??

i updated to OFW 5.03 recently. This is my first try at hackin
. i know that if i try to install a lower version than 5.03 it will say corrupted data. do i hav to remove OFW 5.03 and if so how do i remove it.
i do not hav a pandora yet or a MMS but i just need to know what to do. the tutorials dont help right now either

just a few noob questions… i have a blue madden ofw 3.95, downgraded to cfw 3.71 m33-4 and i saw the latest cfw is at 5.00 m33-6. should i upgrade? is there any benifit? and what are the add ons?

my psp is a slim and lite.recently it was just a 4.01 version cause i’m just a newbie in psp’s so let someone upgrade it because none of my downloaded games be detected by my psp i even tried to borrow my friends memory card but it didn’t work so he upgrade it cause his version is 5.01 m33-6 now he upgraded mine into a 5.03 but still my psp coudn’t detect games and it costs me 300 pesos(in my country 300 is alot and with thathinks his mr money i can let a PROFESSIONAL handle my psp unlike that stupid,damn-moron who thinks his Mr. Know-it-all)

Man i had custom firmware 3.90 M33 and put this firmware because the flashplayer wasn’t working ( youtube:p) and i hoped that this being newer version it would fix it i haven’t had the chance to see if it did but know i can’t play games anymore it says: The game could not be started.
