Custom Firmware 5.55 MX inbound next week?

Apparently there is a new Custom Firmware on the way from as they call themselves. This new firmware is said to by pass the latest 5.55 security features and will be released next week. Interesting to note that is Spanish and well so was Dark_AleX? Could the two be related?? Check out the video above for some proof of a 5.55 MX custom firmware beta in action.

Edit: Could it be a fake? Yes and no.. I know a lot of people think it is as there is not real hard proof. But we will wait and see if it is released next week and take it from there.

    ok, So I have a PSP 3001, with firmware 5.51. So do i have to update it to the 5.55 for me to install this? If so, with this, can I play backup ISO files?

        we wont know anything for sure. you should wait before you update to ofw 5.55. its only a few more days. patience is a virtue :)

    Wow, this is one the worst fakevids i have ever seen… For example: why isn´t he using a game requireing 5.55 and where´s the information board? This could be any cfw between 4.00 and 5.00, NOT 5.55.

      early in the video there was a message in Spanish that said that the system version he is using is 5.55, so it’s showing that the cfw they made can make the psp believe it is in ofw 5.55

    According to the webiste of TEAM MX many of the XMB features like Camera, information board and other stuff were removed because the firmware was not running properly and it would stop installing at 27%. To me it would seem possible to create a CFW 5.55, since its already 95% decrypted and not to mention already usable in a DC8 MOD, but i highly doubt it will function properly, but then again we won’t know until the beta is released, its supposed to happen between Friday and Monday.

    i use Google but theres no 5.55 eboot so how can we use 5.55 cfw.. if 5.55 ofw does not exist ? im using psp 3001 with 5.51

    maybe its just a coincidence that this team and Dark Alex is a spanish.
    maybe DA is helping that team to surpass the m33 cfw.
    is the 5.55 MX gonna be in its beta stage when its released next week?

    But I’m no guru in this field-all I know is I’m waiting for the next “perfect” firmware to upgrade from 5.00m33v6

    Well, I think it would make sense to hear of a rumor like this. A couple weeks ago, an app came up that can decrypt the latest firmware 5.55.

    This is 100% FAKE
    OFW 5.55 has Information Board under PSN
    There is no Information Board so it is FAKE!!!
    So there won’t be 5.55 CFW…yet

    I have a slight problem that I thought you might be able to help me with. My psp’s firmware is 5.51 and i cant seem to find a Gameboy Emulator that works with it, do you think that you can point me in the right direction?

      You need CFW, which there isn’t for 5.51 yet.

    WOW a custom firmware that can play a game thats almost 3 years old!!
    if i check my system settings im currently running 99.999 firmware .
    i hope im wrong but this video means nothing.. why couldnt it show them
    playing Gi joe or soulcaliber?

    Video should have showed a 5.55-only game launching, so this just looks like a hex edit.

    If It’s Custom Firmware why would he choose UMD GAME to run in his video rather than the games ISO save in Memory Stick? I seriously doubt this video, the custom firmware written might behex edited.

    On the other hand if it’s true, that would be a great news for all of us who wanted to play G.I Joe and Soul Calibur Destiny (JAP)

    Let’s wait ’till next week if there’s progress on this custom firmware…

      the name in the top right corner is from dayviewer.prx. It lets you edit a name (most likely an abbreviation ex: monday -> MON) for each day of the week. This one is the team name instead. they used a pre 5.50 cfw, 5.55 version.txt (edited or dumped from 5.55 ofw), and sysname spoof (5.55 Team-MX above the nickname could easily read 6.00 m33 which ALSO doesn’t exist. the infoboard from 5.50, 5.51 & 5.55 is also missing. no 5.55 ISO played either. no 5.55 folder features shown….

    well for TA-88 V3 theres a downgrade if you update to 5.51 downgrade for 5.03 so you can use gen-a or cfenabler!!

    You can already run Soul Calibur on a CFW psp, you just need 5.50 GEN B on a PSP Phat (doesnt work on 2000/3000 psp’s)

    Im looking forward to see if this is indeed Real, CFW 5.55 on a Slim would be great.

    I have psp 3000 slim with firmware 4.01 until now i didn’t touch nothing insade psp,i playing only games from umd discs,can i update my firmware from 4.01 directly on 5.50 or 5.55.

      Never 6.00 is out if there is going to be a new cfw it will be 6.00 gen.

    Im a noob when it comes to PSP, can anyone explain to me how I can tell which PSP I have?? I notice some say PSP 1000, 2000, 3001 or mb TA-90v2….all I can see is that I have a ver. 3.80… what would be the best firmware to get in order to read most games?

    I have psp 3000 version 5.55 the mother will leave is not a break in her next week or that will take more much time
