Custom Firmware 5.50 Prometheus for PSP-2000 and PSP-1000 *Updated*

Update: Custom Firmware 5.50 Prometheus V2 has been released with increased compatibility. Download below.

Not forgetting PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 owners, has released Custom Firmware 5.50 Prometheus for PSP-2000′s (TA88v2 or less) and all PSP-1000′s. So putting an end to all that patching to get 6.20 Firmware games to work. Its very easy to install. From , just extract the CFW 5.50 Prometheus folder from the winrar archive over to your PSP memory card PSP/GAME/ and run the installer.

      A: it can play your UMD games of Version 6.20, if the UMD wants you to update ofw 6.20, 5.50 Prometheus will let you play 6.20 UMD games

      Hints: I bought Toy Story 3 game, and I have cfw 5.00 M33-4 I started the game Toy Story 3, it says I have Version 5.00 I need to update 6.20, and so I update 5.50 Prometheus, my Toy Story 3 UMD game is starting the game :D

        hi there,
        if your brand new psp is a 3000, then you cannot run homebrew / isos … The only way that you could play games available on the internet is having a PSP 1000, a PSP 2000 (most of them) or a PSP 3000 prior or equal to OFW 5.03. By having a OFW 6.00 you cannot downgrade because there is no possibility to use a Pandora battery to do that.

        If you decide to buy another PSP please take in mind that if it’s a 1000, you can do everything with a pandora tool batery. If it’s a 2000, you have to check a list since i believe some can be fully hacked, some are only partial… If you buy another 3000, you can only have partial patch… but don’t forget that some of the 2000 and all of the 3000 cannot use that Pandora Battery and therefore the OFW cannot be over 5.03 !!

    Hi there,

    I have a question here. I have a PSP 3000 running CFW GEN-D3 with Prometheus patch – really great :)

    Meanwhile I got my hands on a PSP 1000 and I installed M33-6 yesterday but it won’t run newer games, so I was told to install GEN-D3 on it and it would run the newer games, but as far as I see here, i have to follow the same path that i took on the 3000: install GEN-D3 and then apply the Prometheus patch. Is this correct?

    One more thing: as the 1000 has a CFW now, i can install Chicken R3 so i can switch from CFW’s without using the Pandora battery again, am i right? Asking this because i’ve heard that M33 is better to run older games.

    Some of my CSOs have a problem with this CFW. When I play Jeanne D’Arc the music is choppy and my save data is corrupted so I can’t load it. However when I run the game under IRShell everything is fine, no choppy music and my save data still loads.

    my psp 2000 bricks after i use this cfw…..its happened when i want to change back to 5.50 gen D3 using X gen installer…..

      Yeah, same here. Never bricked my PSP before but this cfw does it nicely. Any other way of unbricking other than Pandora battery + Magic MS?

    Hi There
    Newbie question….upgraded to 5.50 all went ok only problem i have is i have 4 games that all load fine get to the start menu but do nothing after that no matter what buttons you press it just sits there and then eventually repeats the start up again…….
    Does any one have any ideas? (slim was on 4.0 then i took it to 5.03 with CH then took it to 5.50) fifa 2010 works fine and Ironman2 ??

    Installed the Custom Firmware 5.50 Prometheus V2 for my PSP-1000. When I was playing God Eater Buster, during the battle mode, any button I press will hang the psp. The psp will shutdown, is it the firmware or the game issue?
