Update: (v2) has just been released by to fix the booting back to the XMB issue.

Chinese hacker liquidzigong has also released an updated Custom Firmware Prometheus-3 version for users running 5.50 GEN-D3 or 5.50 Prometheus. You need to have a PSP-1000 or PSP-2000 non TA088v3 and running either a Prometheus Custom Firmware release or Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D3. This update has added support for games that require original in order to run.

Custom Firmware 5.50 Prometheus-3 changelog:

Improves the compatibility of CF with the latest games that require the official firmware 6.30/6.31

Instructions for installation:

  1. Make sure your on 5.50 GEN-D3 (Download below)
  2. Install the Custom Firmware 5.50 Prometheus-3 to your MS PSP/GAME/
  3. Run the installer from the XMB and then hit X to start the installer

    will this let me use my invizimals camera on cfw? i had to go official to play the game but its kool i got a 1000, the camera says that fw 6.20 is required

    HaS anyone tested ghost of sparta? Im willing to downgrade back to my cfw but if i dont have to use all that time to find out it doesnt that would be appreciated. :)

      Already finished that game (normal mode). lol. tried on CFW5.5gend3 works fine. not working on cfw prometius. however the game was patched by prometius game patcher.

    what if the game that requires 6.31 already patched by prometius game patcher? Is there any trouble that might occur when i used this CFW?

    wwe 2011 is not working.. my psp hangs up and turn the screen into black whenever i start the game.. i still have to change the ISO mode from m33 driver/sony NP9660 to OE isofs on the vsh menu to be able to play wwe… on 5.50 gen d3, wwe can be played without changing the ISO mode.. i went back to gen d3… Ü

    This thing is cruddy as hell. No offense to the person/people who spent time on it but it’s terrible. Reasons being? Examples of older games not working – Smackdown! vs RAW 2006, Midevil Resurrection, Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 Remix, and Lumines. And for new/newer games? Issues with Kingdom Hearts, Smackdown! vs RAW 2010 & 2011, and I’ve had UFC freeze a handful of times. And all of the aforementioned new games worked on 5.50 Gen-D3! This is garbage – point blank.

    I tried this on both of my CFW psp 1000′s…and got error..i had Promo 2 in them so figured why not upgrade to promo 3…guess what don’t! like i said got error..so went to system to check..it now said Promo 3..so i tried GOW Sparta again..and nothing! just stayed black..had to remove battery to shut off..so luckily i loaded Promo 2 again and that installed fine and now everything works great again..
    So if you not having any problems with Promo 2…stay with it.

      If you have this: hackable psp, pandora battery and magic memory stick then proceed .
      >> download the guide on how install cfw on your psp if you want to do it yourself but too risky for you. lol

    look around or look on Craigslist..they have tons of people on there that will do it for like 10 bucks..
    if you have a 2000 or 1000 psp…

    yea 6.20tn permanent on psp go tn did not test it on a psp 3000 but it confirm to work on a psp 2000 too so the psp 3000 will be permanent no release date yet.

     setup.exe (Smackdown VS Raw 2011 1.00 Installation) but when i run it, it shows me that “This Program must be run on windows xp/vista/7 but i am already having windows 7 home premium 64 bit. do u have any idea that what type of file is it?
