Custom Firmware 5.50 Prometheus-2 for PSP-2000 and PSP-1000

Chinese hacker has just released an updated Custom Firmware Prometheus-2 version. You need a PSP-1000 or PSP-2000 non TA088v3 and running either the first Prometheus Custom Firmware released or Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D3. This update has added support for games that require original firmware 6.30 in order to run.

This isn’t to be confused with 5.50 Prometheus v2 (Released in June) As Prometheus-2 has 6.30 OFW support, v2 doesn’t!

Instructions for installation:

  1. Make sure your on 5.50 GEN-D3 (Download below)
  2. Install the Custom Firmware 5.50 Prometheus-2 to your MS PSP/GAME/
  3. Run the installer from the XMB and then hit X to start the installer

      true i’ve got 5,0m33-6 and i’m not upgrading to 5,50 cuz i’ve got many things that work on m33 but won’t work on 5,50…

        Too you both…..this CFW is more stable and will support all that you have on your PSP that’s running 5.00 M33-6. All my Emulators and ISO’s are working great. I am running this on PSP 1000. Shouldn’t make a difference except no more patching games are needed.

    IF Vosman and liquidzigong keep up this good work we wont need a new cfw. We got access to psn by liquidzigong and can play the latest games with vosman’s prom. and other stuff from ofw…

    no bug/problem so far ^^,

    should I delete prometheus 1 before putting prom2 or should i end up with prom 1 and 2 on my psp game folder? sorry newbie here. thanks!

    In the future I hope to see EBOOT support for official downloaded EBOOTs from the PlayStation Store. That’s a deal-maker or deal-breaker because I bought the majority of my games over PSN.

      i doubt you can ever kill him, and if he does then our little psp world would come to an end. mean while read the programming forums and try developing your own cfw. you have nothing to loose. there are guides and i have a second psp for only such trials…..

      Yea you either learn it or patiently wait. Its better to learn it though so you can atleast accomplish something by working at your own pace. With that you need a passion and the will to do it. You have to help other people exactly what these guys are doing. So feel free but as viked said and I quote “i doubt you can ever kill him, and if he does then our little psp world would come to an end.”

    It installed fine on my PSP-3000 but corrupted my NHL07 game save. Fortunately, I made a back up and was able to restore. I guess I’ll be using Prometheus with only newer games, and CFW Enabler 3.70 with old games.

    What’s the sense of running HBL on a CFW enabled PSP.?! Duh. HBL is made for those who are STUCK on OFW.

    Guys, I have installed Prometheus-2 in my PSP-1000 but the game Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 2 (from 2005) is not working in the console.

    Any idea in how I can play this game?

    i notice that this prome-2 is unstable on some old games like Virtua Tennis 3 and Fight Night Round 3.. the game froze then shuts down…

    the question i am asking is what do i need to do in order to make it download? what plugins to i need
    i have 5.50 gen d3 and i cant play my birth by sleep umd yet

      Birth by sleep works on 5.50 Gen B2 if thats all ur looking for.

    Using 5.50 prometheus-2 my psp won’t start with memory stick inside…

    I don’t know what I did but it was working before…I reformatted the flash and then restarted it and it still doesn’t work with the MMS inside.
