Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D3 Released

Team GEN have also released Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D3 today, PSP-3000 users were treated first to 5.03 GEN-C while the mainstream 5.50 GEN users had to come second for once…Anyway its up and we have it below for you. Enjoy playing all current know games without having to patch them. All PSN demos should work too and that means the MGS: Peace Walker Demo due Thursday.

Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D3 Changelog:

  • * Compatibility with all known PSN Game/Démo from on 15/12/2009
  • * Compatibility with all known UMD on 15/12/2009
  • * Add ISO SPeed MS loading (Beta version non really tested because we don’t have any fake MS)
  • * Network update

    this is very urgent ! plz tell me does this crack work for PSP 3004 firmware 5.50

    which was unhackable yet,and can we play games thru memory card?

    also is this hack temporary,

    i mean HEN used to disappear if we switch off PSP. will this CFW work permanent ?

    and the last, can it hack 6.20 firmware ?

    plz guide me, i m new at it. i have to buy a new psp n need to see if it is hackable or not, else i wont.

    is there ne video posted on this CFW ? ne tutorial or proof ?

      This isn’t a crack, and it doesn’t work for your model and firmware.
      Besides, THIS ISN’T FOR 3000! If you installed it on a 3000, you’d brick your PSP. Good thing you didn’t do that. D:

    When i install GEN D3 in the system information it shows me 5,50 GEN D(FULL). why its doesnt show GEN D3??

      I have the exact same problem nicolas… it shows 5.50 Gen D (FULL) instead of 5.50 gen d3 also i ran the 5.50 gen d2 update and it worked! so im guessing we didnt download 5.50 gen d3 and just simply 5.50 gen d

        You forgetting it works on 1000′s and most 2000′s with the use of a Pandora Battery and MMS.

        It works, you need to select INSTALL XGEN PANDORA, and your mobo has to be Ta086 or below.

    I dont know if this has been pointed out before but if you have FATMOD (ms speed up for D-2) not only wiil your FAT PSP not play games (Unless you disable the pegasus.prx) it wont say 5.50 GEN D 3 in system info.

    I just uninstalled the FATMOD thing and it says D-3 now. I have a PSP 1001 (FAT).

        Upgrade to OFW 5.03, load chickHEN R2, then run Hellcat’s Recovery Flasher to flash 5.50 GEN-A (google all of those things).

        The downloaded file was mixed up. At least that’s what I’m hearing. Upgrade to gen d2 then download d3 again.

    my psp is doesnt have any pegausus.prx and my psp is PSP SLIM,PSP-2004,TA-085,5.50GEN-D2.whats a FATMOD?

      It’s suppose to be a Memory Stick speed up for GEN D-2.

        I think it only affects the FAT PSP’s.

    found a bug some of my cso games start freezing like i cant play formula 09 anymore in careermode the load screen keeps on loading and loading and loading and gues what loading :(

      Go to your VSH menu and clock it to 333mhz.

      CSO games are normally unstable, because they are compressed in the first place.

      Try changing the ISO driver to M33 Driver. If it is already on the M33 driver try the NP6600 Sony Driver. If that doesn’t work try getting an ISO version of the game.

    nope. Youre out of luck. chickhen only supports 5.03 firmware below.

    Here is the full tutorial to configure properly 5.50GEN-D3, put the French language and thus run all homebrew and ISO without problems. Ideal for those who do not fully use a custom firmware.

    Summary:

    1. 1 – Introduction
    2. 2 – Putting the language of the PSP in French
    3. 3 – Format Flash1 to restore the default settings
    4. 4 – Format the MS to create all the files
    5. 5 – Activate the VSHMenu
    6. 6 – Set VSHMenu

    Introduction:

    Installing an updated custom firmware is good. Learn to use it properly is better! This tutorial aims to teach you the basics of using a custom firmware. Nothing too serious program, and you can apply the knowledge acquired here on any custom firmware, since the tips described here are almost universal.

    So you learn to:

    * Return the French language
    * Format flash1 to reset settings
    * Format your Memory Stick
    * Activate your VSHMenu
    * Adjust your VSHMenu

    Read any good, because these tips solve most problems on a custom firmware. Good setup for all!

    i have instal cfw 5.50 gen-d2 before,then i run the 5.50 gen-b (full) updater which is hundred kb.the updater work successful but when i open my psp (after shutdown).the system information say 5.50gen-b (full).when i play a game then close it,the system information says 5.50 gen-d2.the problem is sometimes ths s.information say d2 and sometime says b (full).can some one tell me what’s the problem???

    For the last time guys!

    With this CFW, you CANT ACESS THE PSN! You can JUST PLAY DEMOS DOWNLOADED VIA PS3 OR INTERNET!
    THIS DOES NOT WORK ON PSP 3000/ PSP 2000 TAV83 with firmware ABOVE 5.03!
    Here… I’m not having any problem playing games, TEAM-GEN ROCKS! :D

    I found a bug. inside your recovery menu the option to turn your battery into a pandora n back is gone. n dats a prob for me cause now my bat is stuck as a pandora. i tried to make it normal usin da vsh button but in dosent work.

        Use the Ultimate VSH Menu plugin. That should fix it… I think.

    PSPGEN released a final version of 5.50 GEN-D3, I’ve been downloading the firmware like three times from the original source and it looked like that the first two were beta versions:

    metal slug xx doesnt with this firmware on my fat psp.
    theres also the thing where my system software displays as 5.50 gen-d (full), instead of d3. however i know that the update worked because in recovery mode>configuration it has the network option that wasnt there before. lol im just curious as to why its not showing up as d3.

      Disable pegasus.prx in the recovery menu.

    Mx vs ATV Reflex isn’t able to patch on Window’s 7. The GEN Team should have just made a new DECRYPTER. This stuff is too confusing. I’m using almost anything I can get my hands on on the internet so far the programs don’t run properly. I’m not the only one having this problem btw. I’m sure many out there are face the same thing.

      Im on windows 7 32bit,and patch worked fine for me,extract all from a rar and then put in new folder all files that u get from rar and then try to run patch

    do i need to install the 5.50gen-d3 (not the final one) first then update to the final version of D3?

    and if i update to the final version in system information wat ould appear 5.50GEN-D3-2?

    Hey guys, Updated to 5.50GEN-D3 a while after it was released on this site and I’ve been reading that some people have the ability to turn on the GEN Network Update. When I go to the Recovery Menu > Configuration it still says ‘Use M33 Network Update = Not Yet’. Can anyone use the GEN Network Update?
