Custom Firmware 5.03 released.

Update: Custom Firmware 5.03 Prometheus V2 has been released with increased compatibility. Download below.

creator of the Prometheus Module, has today released his own Custom Firmware for PSP-2000 TA088v3 + and models. The custom firmware requires you have a 5.03 official firmware on your PSP-2000 or in order to do the norm and run ChickHEN or MHUSpeed. This new firmware will run all the latest 6.20 games that have proven difficult in the past. This is without any special patching.

Custom Firmware 5.03 Prometheus Installation:

1. Install and run ChickHEN or MHUSpeed
2. Install
3. Extract the files in the Prometheus 5:03 to PSP / GAME
4. Start the installer 3.5 Prometheus
5. Install the 5.3 Prometheus by pressing X

Oh course we also have our All-in-One installers that will get you to 5.03 GEN-C, they include chickHEN, 5.03 GEN-C

Disclaimer: I haven’t tested this yet, since I no longer own a PSP-3000 or a PSP-2000 with a TA088v3. We take no responsibility if you somehow manage to brick your PSP.

    by the way.. for those people who is asking about switching off the PSP will make it back to OFW (answer is YES) unlike GEN, PROMETHEUS will go back to 5.03 OFW, you will have to install it again, and for safetyness follow the prodecure from HEN > GEN-C > PROMETHEUS..

    my only problem is I can’t make naruto 3 work. >,< help? pls? maybe my copy is being patch??? or something?? (BREAKOUT!)

    Hi. It’s me again.. I think i found the solution that I was looking for.. I already make NARUTO 3 work on my PSP GEN-C (FULL), I even try it in PROMETHEUS and it works.. the thing is, I put the KHBBS plugin back.. does PROMETHEUS really works? or it’s just my copy of NARUTO 3 is already PATCHED ( FIXED – EBOOT has been already MODIFIED, or whatever you call it ) by someone?? I only get it from my friend and he too doesnt know if it was patched by someone.. HOPE this help.. cause me too is confuse right now..

    Hello Everyone, just wanted to leave a update on prometheus 5.03. As I stated before all my emulators and games are working perfectly. Now, I wanted to see if the “sedna plugin” would work on prometheus
    and of course I was proven wrong, the plugin does not work, looks like the system doesnt recognize the plugin, which of course is what I expected, just wanted to see if it would work. Second thing I wanted to try is to put “custom Themes” by using “CXMB” and I am glad to say that it works. For those of you that have already done this, I am just comfirming and for those who havent because of the risk of the psp bricking, I can tell you that it will not brick. So to conclude this everything that Gen-C can do Prometheus can do, except for the Sedna Plugin. Hopefully someone will come out with the a similar sedna plugin for prometheus.

    it worked for me for the first time i installed it..but after a game crash i could not install it anymore..please help..im using psp 3000

      First load chickhen or mhuspeedv3(same as chickhen only faster to load) then load prometheus once u load that it should be able to play any game u want. When It comes to newer games some of them come already patched. What game r u trying to play?

      for load khickhen and promethus , u must use other new micro sd card .and then u”ll ok.

    hey guys, i got a problem. i downloaded the prometheus module posted above, copied it in my game folder, and tried to run it on my psp. but when the installer opens up and i press “x” to install, my psp just freezes on the install menu. i did this with chickhen and gen-c (final) installed. i’m on a PSP 3001 BRITE. hope someone can help. thanks. ;)

    btw, i have a copy of naruto 3 and kingdom hearts: birth by sleep. they run great with just my gen-c (final) cfw, with no lag or whatever. my only problem is my KH:BBS is in japanese.. (that sucks.)

    a follow-up question..

    i learned just recently that gen-c final can only run psp games up to 6.10fw requirements. so, are there any patches, aside from this prometheus module that would alllow us to play 6.20+ games.?
    and on what firmware would the new God of War run.? i just want to make sure that i could run it smoothly on my 3001 BRITE (5.03gen-c final) once it came out. thanks a lot.. ;)

      Mostly youre not gonna be able to run the new God of War which will be released soon,because all the new games require the last FW available.There is a plugin for 5.03 GEN-C which lets you play 6.20 games,but nothing past this FW.

    Dude, i know i won’t be able to run it with my current CFW. what i’m asking for is HOW would i be able to do it. You know, what other CFWs or plugins or whatevers do i need to make it work on my psp. I’ve already got games working on gen-c final, which others find difficult to run. MGS:PW, KH:BBS, Naruto accel 3,(which i believe are all under 6.20/6.10FW) WITHOUT installing any prometheus modules.
    Anyway, thanks for the reply. ;) and about that plugin you were talking ’bout.?

      No…You didnt understand.You cant do it AT ALL.There’s no plugin or CFW which would let you play that game.And BTW,those who think theese games are hard to run must be really stupid,and all those games require FW 6.10.You cant play 6.20 games on 5.03 GEN-C without plugins.5.03 Gen-C can play 6.10 games without any plugin,but not 6.20 games.You’ll need to wait for another Prometeus module for FW 6.30&6.31 if you want to play that game.

    So i just have to wait for Mr. Liquidzigong to release a 6.30+ module, right.? *sigh*
    guess it’ll be a long time before i can see Kratos on my PSP screen again. haha.

    Anyway, i really need some help installing this Prometheus firmware. i’m sure i followed the instructions, got chickhen & gen-c running, but whenever i press “x” to install, my psp just freezes on the installation menu. any tips.?

      Yeah,I know how it is…I really want to play the new Tenkaichi Tag Team on PSP…I was so dissapointed when I saw that the demo requires FW 6.30 or above…
      However,I do not know the answer for the second question.I do not have CFW anymore,so I cant help you.I can only tell you that some Custom Firmwares like 5.03 MHU need an OFW installer like 5.00.PBP…I have no idea if it would work here too…Sorry! :(

    HAAAAHAHAHAHAHA.!!! OMFG.!!! I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING.!!!!!

    but wait. i think the button descriptions in this prometheus installer are all mixed up. you see, the one that i pressed that triggered the install was the “L” shoulder button. hmm.. weird.. am i the only one who experienced this.?

    So how does this work? Have OFW 5.03>CHickhens>gen C>then start prometheus FROM the PSP?

    @Blazakenki, of course you start prometheus FROM your psp. it’s just like installing Gen-C, dude.

    @asonhon, i tried it, & it worked. so yeah, you can skip installing Gen-C, but i think it’s much safer to run it first before installing prometheus.

    what are the advantages of changing to the prometheus from gen-c. all my games seemed to have worked perfectly on it. the naruto 3 and even the tenkaichi tag team. the prometheus doesnt solve the problem of reinstallin after reboot so what does it really do. is it worth changin to it or sticking with my gen-c. pls help needed

    Hey uh…I kinda need help, my psp is acting screwy here.
    I updated to prometheus and played some God Eater Burst and it froze at the voice part as they said it would. After if rebooted I tried to go chickHEN>GEN-C>prometheus, but the thing is… GEN-A…
    For some reason it always says its stuck in GEN-A…I always thought it was a word problem the psp had, but now, pro won’t install, stuck on GEN-A (it was stuck on C til I rebooted it) and now I can’t play GEB >.<

    Any help?
    Also, I can't plug my psp to the comp, the usb port on the psp is broken

    I have a brick on a psp 3001 TA-090 …
    After update, i charge the psp on usb and turned off, no coming back =(
