**Update** : Team GEN released a newer build, called CFW 5.03 GEN-C Final. Please download and use this version as it fixes a few bugs found in the first release. The download is below.

Team GEN have released Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-C for ChickHEN (TA-088v3+ & PSP-3000′s with 5.03 OFW) Whats new? Well we can play all of the current game releases known, thats upto firmware 6.20. Backed up and unpatched UMD games all work (all known releases) As well as all PSN downloads. For example the new Metal Gear: Peace Walker demo due tomorrow should work with out a hitch.

The Team GEN have also tested the following games and can confirm they work on the latest 5.03 GEN-C builds.

  • Phantasy Star Portable 2
  • Naruto
  • J-League Pro Soccer Club o Tsukurou 6 Pride of J
  • Naruto Shippuden Narutimate Accel 3
  • James Cameron Avatar The Game

  • R-Type Tactics II Operation Bitter Chocolate
  • Bleach Soul Carnival 2
  • Battle Spirits Kiseki no Hasha
  • Yamada

  • In order to use this you need to be running Firmware 5.03 or less (On FW 5.03+ Sorry this isn’t for ya. ChickHEN only works on 5.03!)
  • Install chickHEN R2 and get it running. This will help: Guide to running ChickHEN R2
  • Once in the Homebrew Enabled Environment aka HEN, run GEN-C. That you installed to /PSP/GAME

      i have a problem with my psp 3006 i brought it from china or japan or sumink and when i click on to the game memory 5.03 Gen-C it comes up with qa black screen but it only ses i have to reboot my psp 5.03 gen-c and i dont have a clu what that means also ive got games on my psp but as they just load past the first 5 seconds it ses the game could not be started (80020148)some one please help

      Hello:

      I am never able to get the ChickHENR2 s/w to boot. Here is my enviro, and steps taken. I’d appreciate any guidance you can provide.
      PSP 3001
      FW 5.03 (verified)
      set default values, and selected English, default TZ, default device name
      set UMD autostart and cache to OFF
      set color to “NORMAL” (vs “WIDE”)
      8GB mem SanDisk mem stick DUO (2GB free)

      actions taken:
      Installed the ChickHENR2 h.bin in root (with PSP/MUSIC/COMMON/etc)
      Installed ChickHENR2 gifs/tiff in PICTURE/ChickHEN (dir that my PSP uses for “PHOTO”) and PHOTO/ChickHEN dir (“PHOTO” did not exist; created it)
      installed fw 5.03 GEN-C as PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP and PSP/GAME/GEN-C/EBOOT.PBP (I wasn’t sure which was used)
      powered off/on PSP
      selected PHOTO/ChickHEN
      watched gif previews refresh
      PSP hangs, then turns off with a distinct click/snap sound

      If I select the tiff, I get a white screen

      I’ve turned on and selected the ChickHEN PHOTO dir about 20 times, and never got the “flashing green screen” etc.
