Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-B Release delayed.

PSPGen have just recently posted that the release of Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-B for ChickHEN has been delayed. The reason behind this was they found a recovery bug that prevented certain games from playing. One of which was the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker demo. Instead of releasing it today and later needing to release 5.03 GEN-B2. Team GEN have decided it would be best to wait, fix it and have it ready for release tomorrow.

This is not a problem with the CFW but a recovery bug. If you remember,  the recovery of 5.03GEN-A already had a problem: all option lines were shuffled. The correction of this problem comes with another bug in some options like the “use version.txt” which doesn’t work anymore and prevents the launch of the MGS.

5.03 GEN-B is now set for release tomorrow night (French time that is) We’ll keep you posted and have it up for download the moment its released.

    Hmm its now 1:43am GMT+1 (Time in France) Doesn’t look like its coming out “tonight” Take a break and do something else. Check back with us later for any changes. But the odds are they are sleeping so it will be out tomorrow or expect an update at the very least. No point spamming the comments about it not being out yet.

    It is one very beautiful week that is ended this Sunday, the 1st of November. First, one of the most important information is certainly the position(attitude) in Custom Firmware’s line 5.03 types of GEN-B, which has for principal functionality of being able to throw(launch) the games that need a firmware over 5.55. Nevertheless, the position(attitude) in line, which had to be celebrated on October 31 has been rejected because there was a problem of compatibility that blocks certain options between(among) which there is the one that allows to use the file version.txt necessarily for the launch(throwing) of MGS’s demo, for example. But nothing burdens, Custom Firmware was OK releasé yesterday in the night.

    hmmm its tmrw and i still dont see 5.03 gen b. not complaining but is the delay just to play that one demo really worth it. come on its a demo not even the full game, i say release it and come out with the fix later for those who complain about wanting to play the games

    the real hero will be the person who can figure out how to perma hack the ta85v3 mother boards. wont matter what psp or ofw you have then. So I say to my hero dont listen to the can’t do people. where there is a will and the right smarts there is a way.

    Now that’s a bit too far. All the UMDs on my PSP are dumped from my own hardcopy. Same with PSX eboots. It’s just easier to have my games in digital format (in fact, I would’ve gotten the PSP Go if it weren’t for the fact that most games aren’t up on PSN yet).
    Don’t judge everyone based on a minority (or majority depending on how you see it).

    I’m not really going to lie about not having pirated games on my PSP since I do have a few ROMs that I don’t own, but are you saying people have pirated ISOs or ROMs? I and most others would never put an ISO or CSO on our memory stick that we don’t own. It really kills the gaming industry.
