Seems and Team Typhoon are currently working on a new ChickHEN released dubbed ChickHEN R3 (release 3). Its going to have a few fixes and add new features. Interesting to note it will have PRX plug support and a VSH menu much like M33 Custom Firmware. No release date on ChickHEN R3 has been set. Its currently work in progress.

New features being worked on:

- XMB / Game Version Spoofing
- Photo menu redirections
- Patch Playstation Network
- Hide pic1 (already present on CF)
- NandGuard
- System Settings / MAC Address Spoof Version
- VSH Menu
- Plugins
- High Memory for PSP 2000/3000
- Compatibility with some modules M33

      i heard about sedna firmware..it says that this firmware used in psp with chickHEN that even though it will reboot and no need to install chickHEN..is this true??is that so,what are the steps in installing this one regarding the game.txt and vsh.txt..please help me regarding this matter..
      also if the chickHEN R3 is good??no need to install the chickHEN again if possible that the psp will reboot?? thank you…

    Hi! I truly love ChickHEN R2! I bought a brand new PSP-3001 (sealed in box) from someone who had it since Xmas ’08 for $120. So I wanted to try Homebrew and all that PSP have to offer. I found this website so I learned alot about my PSP and why I do not need to “mod” it. Before I ChickHEN my PSP all I had to do was to turn OFF the UMD Auto-Start, UMD Cache, USB Charge and USB Auto Connect in the System Settings then in Theme Settings be sure to revert both Theme and/or Background back to original. After that, just turn off the PSP and turn it on. Now it is ready to be ChickHEN by going to Memory Stick in Photo settings and then press X and wait (for me works every time as long as you did turn the PSP off after you correct the settings). I then use Custom Firmware Enabler 3.51 to run ISOs so don’t have to use the UMDs (just keep them in safe place away from my kids!). Of course it is safe to turn on USB & UMD settings until PSP is turned off then have to do it over again to ChickHEN it. For me I have no problem doing it because it’s like 6 toggles and a system reboot before ChickHEN it. Have to run CFE 3.51 to play backups. Oh before I forget to add very important note … after the PSP has been ChickHENed it is a good idea to connect PSP to you computer and remove the file “egghunt.bin” because if you don’t then you can’t ChickHEN It again unless that file is removed! I hope ChickHEN R3 will take care of that issue and more! I truly appreciate everyone for this website and the wonderful applications to allow us to enjoy our PSPs! I am frankly disappointed with Sony for PSP GO and the blurry situation about PSP owners with all that UMD collections. 16GB storage for PSP GO is a joke! 333mhz in PSP GO is just plain dumb! I’ll stick with my PSP-3000 for a long time! I bet that most of us will buy 16GB or 32GB (it will come sooner than you think) memory stick pro duo (w/ magic gate) and stick it in our PSP-3001 and enjoy alot more than we ever will for PSP G0 especially with hefty $249 launch price (Sony come on!!! Why not $179.99???)

    OK, so I just added myself on the apparently very long list of noobs now awaiting for the ChickHEN R3 to be released :s

    Bought an already hacked PSP-2000 today from a colleague, been playing around with all the features it offers, was attracted by this fucking “Network Update” option, hit a few times X and here I am, unable to play the CSO games I was so happy to have downloaded this afternoon !

    Sooow, well… Any idea when this new ChickHEN version will be released ? I saw some posts on other forums talking about it being released on July 20th ? Is this correct ?

    Anyway, hope it comes out soon :)

    hmmm…. seems another one that would dissapoint me… i mean… i have a PSP3000 from a Monster Hunter 2nd G bundle cuz i live here and Japan and, well, it has the OFW 5.50, and im wondering if it is hackable? Man, it sucks cuz i was tempted to buy the 3k instead of the more hackable PSP2k.. well.. wish someone with great programming skills come up with a good hack, cuz that would make a thousand of guys like me reaaal thankful. anyways good luck to that

    omg, just searched the net and found some news about my hometown, Philippines, happens to have the knowledge to hack PSP3k with the latest firmwares o.0 , well, not so surprised though.. cuz in Phil, every shopping mall and game shops there has a reliable hacker, lol. if u buy a PSP from there, the shop will ask u if u want it to be modded for an extra price. not much though. and they have every latest iso games in their arsenal, waiting for your pocket money to ran out. they even have a book binder for the psp iso games, haha

    So this has been posted since may 17th, And today’s date is August 20th. It’s been 3 months now,when will this be released? I know I’m not supposed to ask, but three months??? If there’s a delay, I can under stand, so please tell me. Also, I know that ppl have said in other comments that this is for 5.51, but when I read the writeup, all they say is that they’ve added stuff, not make a new HEn for 5.50 or 51. plz reply

    Forget about thi Chick Hen R 3 Davee canceled it OFW 5.50 has been change his encript tabels so no one hackible program can unlock it let me say this Sony won with OFW5.50 well done damn
    the only way to play games its just buy it damn ((( But Dark Alex put his half encripted codes on his forum before he close it and sad that this encripted codes no unlock all OFW 5.50 so dont waiste your time but its could be clue the MOHH exploit on Medal of Honor heroes games can work For OFW 5.50 lets hope in this MOHH

    Hey guys, I heard that this R3 ain’t coming out, and now I feel doomed. I have a PSP 3000 ver. 5.51. Can someone reply on how to post an article or whatever, because I found this bug, or glitch or whatever that might be able to launch an exploit (if possible). Ok, here’s what I found, So I was listening to an mp3 on my psp, and then I pressed select, so I was looking through what other songs I had in that folder,. So, while I was looking, the song that was playing, when it finished, my psp went to the next track(as usual), but then the track that was just playing had now said “Corrupt Data”. If I can find somewhere to post this, and or probably attach alink to a video I’ll make for proof, People might try doing some stuff with this to make an exploit…

      The same thing happened to my psp i was playing a mp3 song (stop the love you save- jackson five) and after it went to the next song it played that, but when i went bak to play stop the love you save it said corrupted data. so i hear what your saying Alex_the_only. my psp is 3000 slim 5.50

      plug ur psp to extra speaker

    hahahahahaha hey sony make us fool they make that type of firmware that can easily hack by a noob if sony stop piracy nobody going buy there fucking costly game, I don’t have psp my friend have a psp a new one 3004 it is not hackable now but one day it will, Sony forget that psp is portable console if that fucking portable games r that much costly nobody buy psp,If psp buyer calculate that games cost nobody going to buy psp, sony is now so happy that they have made that firmware that no one can hack it like above 5.03+ they r wrong after the v5.03 which is not creaked yet they have loose there customer more than 50% customers really that im not saying its a report from sony we r not looser actually Sony is LOOSER………….. and that’s true

    Thx jack , i was losing hope that anyone knew about the pandora , too many @#$ telling others there was no way to use homebrew with 5.50 and up .

    There is even a link on top to pandora seller up there (i know it was not there when most people posted ).For the magick duo card (called something like that ) you can simply use what you already got and revert it back to a normal one after the downgrade (not sure if all program can do it ) . To me , PSP Grader v008 look like the best option . At least for me it was easy to make one and then revert it back to normal.
