Mod - Load smoother.

PSP Developer m0skit0 has release a mod for ChickHEN R2 that will enable ChickHEN to load much smoother. This will help users that are having trouble to getting chickHEN to load up after many attempts. This should reduce the amount of attempts needed to get it to load up.

To install the program:

1. Power on the PSP
2. Connect to the PC via USB.
3. Open the folder of the PSP and copy the download (in the root of the MS)
4. Decompress ChickHEN Mod.zip. Answer “Yes” to all replacements.
5. Now we do a safe extraction of the PSP and switch to PSP now
6. Press O to cancel USB connection
7. Go to Photos, down to Memory Stick and press X
8. Wait for the egg image to load in the ChickHEN Mod square.
9. When it’s loaded press X (no need for timing here)
10. DO NOTHING MORE, JUST WAIT

If you are successful, you’ll see the green light flashing and it will reboot in the ChickHEN environment. After that, you can now enable the CFW Enabler v1.0. If it doesn’t work, just reset your PSP and go back to step 7.

      Wrong. You can’t use cfw on the 3000, you can only use it on the unhackable 2000. Don’t try to use cfw on the 3000 because you will brick it. I know you don’t want that. Same thing to yo NightCz.

    I heard that PSP 3000 Limited Edition Ratchet and Clank Bundle has main board TA088v3. Can this psp 3k run CFW?

      No you can’t use cfw on the3000 you will brick it if you try.

    This doesn’t work at all on the PSP3k.
    The only advice I recommend is going back to the standard ChickHEN and restoring default settings. Hence why I do not use a theme or put any data in my PSP, because whenever it discharges, I have to reset it.

      u lie mine is 3000 and works just fine i guess u have to erase all the photos and just have the chickhen photos cuz thats what i did and works every time

    Idk about everyone else, but I found a way that gets HEN R2 to load within 2 or 3 attempts. Reset to default settings, turn off umd auto start and umd cache. 1st time you go through the giffs scroll through them slowly, let it freeze and turn off. Turn it back on and this time, let the first giff pic show, and immediately scroll straight down to the HEN. Within 1 or 2 attempts after trying slowly, the quick scroll method should reboot and have you in HEN!!!! No promises, but for me this method allows the HEN to load the 2nd or 3rd time. Hope this helps. Post back, I’d like to know if this works for others as well.

      The way I load chickHEN R2 is to wait for the chickhen folder to load then as soon as I go into the folder simultaniously scroll down to the bottom really fast to the last image, sometimes it will lock up but I usually get it to load in 2 trys.

    Oh yes, by the way, of course I have a psp 3000! 3 times in a row, HEN R2 loaded in 2 to 3 attempts with my method.

    Works great on my psp 2006 (ta088 v3 mobo) !!!

    However, no improvement on my brother’s PSP2000 (mint green 5.03 OFW) been trying for almost an hour now, still chickHEN won’t load………

    Any help is highly appreciated………

    Bert give my method a shot, never tried it on a 2000, but my method works great on my 3000 with the original HEN R2. Still awaiting responses to see if my method works as well for others as it does for me.

    I’m sorry. I had hopes for ya! For some reason my method works every single time on my 3000. I have loaded the HEN R2 over a dozen times now and it almost always loads the 2nd time. Apparently my method is only good for the 3000′s.

    Bert, You’re using the modified HEN though aren’t you? My method was for the original HEN R2. I haven’t used any of the newer ones, seeing as HEN is HEN until new features or CFW is available for the 3000.

    Doesnt work with my PSP 3004.
    Some seconds after the tiff has loaded, the green light flashes, a fizle sound appears – and PSP seems off. no reboot :(

    i tried 10 times by now, everytime the same.

    using firmware 5.03

    any ideas ?

      just keep trying takes like 4000 times for me sometimes when you get it to work just keep it on sleep.If your psp turns off somehow it usually works easier again after loading the HEN the first time.

        i do ive tried formatting memoery stick and rstoring default settings and hen turn off the 2 settings they say to turn off done 1231313 times still nothing

    i install chickHEN mod successfully and use the chickHEN enabler
    and play some iso/cso games 100% and on the next day i accidentally reset my psp
    i install again chickHEN and enabler and i did it successfully after dat i tried to play iso/cso games but it doesnt work anymore…pls help anyone?

    it still dont work..mhmm crashes afetr 4th file loaded….ive tried it arround 32 times now is it more prone to not work on those psp-2001, with 88v3 mother boards ? or thats not the roblem

    I have a psp-2001 with 88v3 M/B and it works every time. The last time i had a problem with it was back when chickhen 1st come out. All my settings r default except the wallpaper.

      Does your psp has firmware 5.50? Or u don’t press O to flash at the first time u run CFW en?
