CFW 5.50 GEN-C Coming No Game Decrypter required

Update: October 18th Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-C Released.

Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-C is on the way from and the PSPGEN crew. Whats new in CFW 5.50 GEN-C is we don’t have to patch our ISO’s using Game Decrypter anymore. As 5.50GNE-C has build in support to run firmware 5.55, 6.00 and 6.10 firmware games straight from the CFW. Oh and demos too that require firmware 5.55+ like Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.

So thats awesome we won’t need to patch / decrypt eboots and rebuild the ISO with UMDGEN. Great stuff, expected release is this Sunday evening French time. As always we will keep you posted and upload it as soon as its released.

        It might just happen if they’re using the newer firmware to code everything, just cause its called 5.50 gen doesnt mean it only has the features of 5.50 OFW, so you never know, we might get a nice surprise

        ummmmmmmm, dont know if you kiddies know this yet, but 5.50 GEN B has a built in pandora battery maker. go to the recovery menu and go to advanced. its right there. the option to make pandora battery and a normal one. granted your psp and motherboard support it. i have psp-2000 and mine makes it just perfectly. just so you know……

      Some play games online, I buy my games from PSN. Its no real major for me as I have my PSP Go for PSN games and downloads. But still its nice to have PSN access.

      But in a way its good as there are no cheaters online anymore. (SOCOM etc) That is the only good thing about this.

        i dont know what the big deal about not get psn store on psp. Just download media go free, it has the online psn store which is much faster and better than the psp one. It’s also a lot safer

      why do people automatically assume that just because they’re new CFW that its going to work with 3k? or even ask the question?, until there is a way to PUT it on the 3k, it wont matter if its for the 3k or not

      Check, Easy ChickHEN Custom Firmware installer (Without Pandora)‎, there’s a slim and phat version, if you follow the steps you will have 5.00 m33 custom firmware which you can then update to 5.50 Gen A, to Gen B, and then to the new Gen C. But make sure to update all 5.50 Gen updates in the right order

        Even though psp 3000 users only have cfw 5.03 MHU, doesn’t mean they can’t play the newer games. They can play the exact same things that the 5.50 GEN users can play, 5.50 GEN just lost the main thing that seperates 5.03 and 5.50, PSN access.

    If PSPGen doesn’t copy the Memory Stick speed hack from 5.00 M33-6, I won’t update my psp to this 5.50 GEN-C. I want to play my CSO at level 9 compactation without lagging, and the FAT driver mode to run the 3.71 version doesn’t do this to me.

    With this new CFW 5.50 GEN-C I can play OFW 6.00/6.10 games without decrypting them, right?
    Then is it possible to use save game data from the decrypted files for the undecrypted ISOs?

      no you cant you have to have a hack psp with 5.00m33 on it and update it to 5.50-A / B and when c comes out

      actally, yes you can.. all you have to do is get a pandora battery, and then PUT m-33/GEN-A on your PSP, the thing is making a pandora battery, which isnt that hard.

      do you have anyy idea what you’re talking about? the point behind why there is no CFW for 3k’s is because its not possible to inject CFW into it, so that means, it doesnt matter what version of CFW it is, it wont work until they find a way to put it ON the 3k.

      try changin your UMD ISO driver to Sony NP9660, Person works fine for me, psp 2000 5.03 MHU

      Person works just fine, you just have to set the UMD ISO MODE to Sony NP9660 ins the VSH menu. ; )

    i use usb mood almost 5 hour then my psp folder got this ”isocatch.bin”
    it can limit your ISO and Homebrew not to use
    just delete it, then everythings is ok

    Don’t you guys that always ask about psp 3000/psp 2000 v3 get it? There is a HARDWARE difference between these and the older psp’s. Until someone figures out something major, You will NOT be able to do the same things as the older 2000′s and all 1000′s. You can still get these everywhere. Ebay, Gamestop, Local classifieds, etc. Just trade your 3000 in at gamestop and get one. Problem solved. If you can’t bring yourself to do that then all you can do is wait. Maybe with the release of the Go someone will figure something out. Posting about it in EVERY thread will not make it any more hackable.
