Aircrack PSP Test .54

AirCrack-PSP – Wifi sniffer. This is the first time we have covered this Homebrew application from Gaby_64. So what exactly does this do? Gaby_64 puts it best: This is a port of aircrack-ptw witch I took from DS aircrack along with added stuff. But this will not just consist of cracking the cap file but also finding an AP, dumping packets in a cap file then decrypt it!

Here’s the changelog:

  • Lots of bug fixes
  • Improved scanner
  • Fixed file browser
  • Added auto rescan every 5 seconds in scan
  • AP`s with signal strenght lesser then 5% will not show
  • New setting added, minumum signal strenght
  • New setting added, auto scan delay
  • Now saves settings and loads them from a cfg file

    I think it’s the same as cain & abel on windows. I think it searches for an AP (access point) and then it decrypts the password. I’m not sure if it works passed WPA because there’s a lot more characters to decrypt.
    Don’t take my word on this one as I’m not sure.. Description could’ve been a bit better.

    Damn, I got my hopes up. It doesn’t capture packets, or dump them into a cap file, or decrypting them. It just says, not implemented yet. I guess he’ll put them in later.

    I think he said on his forum that he has been only working on it for a month. He still has a long way to go. As far as i know the psp’s wlan chip is completely undocumented so hes going to half to do allot of reverse engineering and testing before we see anything useful functionality (Packet Catching) from his program.

    Alright, ill put it simple for everyone. Aircack is a program, designed to test the security of wifi connections and debug them on a number of levels.

    It can be used to crack WEP keys but only if you are able to capture enough “template” or Deta Packets that are successfully transmitted from a computer already connected. Using these it uses an algorithm accustomed to a found weakness in the WEP algorithm to decrypt the wep key.

    However this program is verry advanced and so i will put in this warning: The program is not designed for those other then major linux geeks who know how to do this stuff. It probably isn’t supported for n00bs and so if you dont understand it is a sure sign that you never will.

        Exactly, if you dont know, you most likely never will.

        The best way to learn if you must is to check out a Slackware based pentest distro called BackTrack.

        I still say, if you don’t understand this stuff, you should go back to your halo and leave it alone.

      Ok im new at this hacking stuff i downloaded the program file to my computer but how do i do i get it onto my PSP…? Someone needs to help me out!…

    I wish everyone who keeps asking if this works and if it will crack would actually read the other comments.

    No at the momment this WILL NOT allow you to go down the street and crack your neighbors WEP. perhaps in the future who knows. All this does is allow you to scan for AP’s and crack the CAP file.. if you have one. for instance you have on you have captured from your own router using linux and aircrack. transfer that over to the psp and it will be able to crack through it.

    Please stop asking the same bloody questions and do some reading first.

    I think it won’t crack a WEP-TPSK so i’ll wait a couple of years for a version that does.

    How do I get the .cap files? I’ve heard of a linux distro made for cracking WEP, and it that’s where the files come from, isn’t this a bit useless? You need to know the key to connect the linux computer and get the .cap files.
