Ad-Hoc mode compatible between both PSV and PSP

The official Japanese PS Vita site, recently added an interesting bit of info. That the PSV and PSP will be Ad-Hoc mode compatible. So this adds the possibility to have games that can support ad-hoc modes like multiplayer or the ability to move a save game from one system to the other. The are many possibilities but the question is will game developers use this feature for PSP to PSV communication? Or would they rather just focus on the new PS Vita system? Leaving PSP owners is the dark?
