8GB memory stick support on any CFW

Share

Dark AleX has released a new patch for 8GB memory stick support on any CFW. This particular release will give the users 8GB memory stick support regardless of what custom firmware they are on. Although this might not be a problem for those of us on newer firmware. Using running older custom firmware might want to check this patch out. Be warned that this patch requires you over a few files on the PSP Flash0. Its risky and if not done correctly could equal a bricked PSP. You have been warned :)

Dark AleX’s words on this:

I haven’t been able to reproduce the problem in my 8GB card, but anyways I think the reason is literally that the memory stick was not ready in the time plugins are loading, although the memory stick modules are loaded, but they require some time to initialize as they are executing code in other thread.

The code in 3.80-3.90 of plugins loading is same, it was probably the change of sony ms driver what altered timings, etc. Try this prx (systemctrl.prx for the phat, systemctrl_02g.prx for the slim), replacing the one of the flash0 kd folder, and tell me if it works after this.

I think this is more for users who have problems with popsloader.

Also, apparently if you have this installed and no memory stick inserted, the psp will brick.

thank you dark alex! this worked for me, too bad for the unfortunate ones who bricked their psp’s. I just bought a 8 gig mem stick and none of my plugins worked (cxmb, POPS, music..etc.) now they all work great, no brick! thanks again!
