6.XX Downgrader V4 Released (UPDATE)

Some1 posted online his latest and long awaited downgrader for 6.60 OFW. It’s compatible with all PSP models. You can downgrade from 6.60/6.39/6.38/6.35/6.31 to any OFW compatible with your motherboard nevertheless Some1 advises us not to use below 5.00 as it hasn’t been tested. You will find the motherboard compatible FW below. It’s a risky operation and we are not responsible if something happens to you console. The downgrader uses new kernel fault found by Davee.

Fixed 6.60 problem that didn’t allow to downgrade to anything greater than 6.20, thanks to Davee
Allows any updater that is greater than or equal to the factory installed OFW (Has not been fully tested, will most likely work on 5.00 and up)

Added Source Code
Added Safety net just in case, for some reason, your psp does not have the 0×51 key, the safety net sets minimum version to 6.35 if you were getting an error from v4.
Includes Proxima’s prxencrypter with gzip support.

How to install :

How to install it : Place the “6.xx Downgrader V4.1″ from the downgrader’s archive folder in PSP/GAME. Add the update of the OFW to want ( EBOOT.PBP ) to PSP/GAME/UPDATE ( with capitals ).
How to use : Run it from Game – Memory Stick and follow the instructions on the screen to downgrade ( you need 75% battery or you will be kicked off the program ). Probably around 85-90 % you will get an error -don’t worry it’s normal. When boot after the install you ‘ll see a blue screen asking you to hit O. Do it. If instead of blue screen got blank on fresh boot press the following : SELECT+START+Square + Triangle.

List of motherboards and the OFW they support :

1g -Any
2g with flashable motherboard -Above 3.60 ( You can not distinguish this from the next without a cfw so I’ll advise you to not flash 2g below 4.01 )
2g with unflashable motheboard -Above 4.01
3g -Above 4.20
4g -Above 5.70
5g -Above 5.70
7g/9g -Above 6.30

How to find your motherboard type : Download PSP Module checker 1. 0 and place the folder “PSPModuleChecker1.0″ rared in it in PSP/GAME then run it on your PSP from Game – Memory stick. See what’s written.

Hey everybody! I have a PSP 3000, 3g. It’s running 6.60 now, and I want to downgrade to 6.20. I have downloaded the appropriate things, and put them all in the right places. But I keep getting a message that says: A newer update is already running, no need to update. And it won’t let me downgrade. It sounded like some other people had the same problem but no one ever said how they fixed it. I would really appreciate the help! Thanks so much!

hey guys you need some help right
When you check: Make sure that you have the module checker, the sbc file and the 6.60 folder in PSP/GAME
When ur updating ur gonna need the sbc folder: MAKE SURE THE CHARGE IS ABOVE 80% OR ELSE IT WONT WORK. Then run it, It tells you some stuff and then ur done. IT HAS TO BE 6.60 OR ELSE IT WILL FAIl

ok to get your psp OFW to cfw 6.60 cfw download pro update for psp 6.60 OFW along with the pro psp firmware fast recovey in case your psp fully turns off it restore in like 15 sec.when you download the files put both of them in PSP/GAME/ then you simply run the update hope this helps and good luck….

Thanks, your guide was very helpful, I upgraded to 6.60 and couldn’t play my EBOOT games anymore, this worked perfectly, and my EBOOTS are working again… Thank you.

    Basically, the error (800100) could be caused because you have an incorrect version? This downgrader worked fine for me.. I managed to downgrade from 6.60 – 5.03. Took quite some time.

    i followed the steps. so what i did was, copied “6.XX Downgrader v4.1″ to PSP/GAME. and copied the EBOOT from inside “6.XX Downgrader v4.1″ to PSP/GAME/UPDATE. Is this correct? but it still shows the game cannot be started error. pls help?

    Mine doesn’t have update folder. I updated to 6.60 few days ago. to follow the directio, I creted the update folder manulally and put the file in the folder. and copy the psp folder to memor stick. and run i from memory stick. but still it says tha the game could not strat (800100). I tried several times but never work. please help me to downgrade mine.

    download the updater for the version that you want to downgrade to. I managed to get mine to work using that.

  I think you did not read the instructions clearly.. It stated that :
  
  “Download an Official Firmware Update, and place it in PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder” and then you launch the program from the XMB Menu.

I have a FAT PSP 1004 with 1g motherboard .
I tried to downgrade from ofw 6.60 to ofw 5.50 . Wanted to test if this stuff really works . The good news is that it worked perfectly fine . Later I tried following the same instructions to downgrade it to ofw 1.50 and got a message saying that the fw is not supported .

Is there a way I can install a cfw from an with my psp running on ofw 5.50 without pandora ?

  You could have just used the 6.XX HEN and made a pandora with that, then pandora to 1.5, or whatever CFW you want.

my psp has a version of 5.03 gen-b, i upgraded it to tn hen 6.2, when i started the game, the game crash andwhen i exit the iso loader , when i start another game it also crash. can anyone help me on this problem?

You have both the regular update and downgrader update seperate.

Comfirmed for a PSPSlim30xx with 3g module – this downgrader works! Just downgraded from 6.60 to 5.03. just follow ALL instructions!

This won’t work, I do exactly as the guide tells me to, but when I get to the 5.03 update, I get a message saying version 6.60 is present, and there is no need to update. I have a PSP 3004.

  Make sure to take the folder too. I took just the eboot and got the same error. Worked when I copied the floder to GAME.
