6.20 TN (HEN) Total_Noob: Its no fake, New video

Update 11th: A new video has been uploaded from , this time running some homebrew via his exploit. A PSP Go HEN video is coming also…

After some hours of working I get the first homebrew running. The HEN only support 10% of homebrews, because NID translator isn’t done yet. I’ve borrowed a PSP GO by a friend, in the next demo you’ll see the HEN running on it;)

Total_Noob wasn’t to thrilled it seems with a few users that claimed his video was a fake. We never stated that of course, coming from some as reputable like Total_Noob is highly doubtful. That he would fake something like this. The PSP scene as suffered enough fool’s and fakers. Team MAC anyone?

So in reply he has posted a new video of his kernel exploit in action. This time in better quality, HD even. From the demo 2 video we see that the exploit is run first in User Mode via the exploit () of Wololo’s. The video clearly shows us , Total_Noob then runs his HEN exploit from the menu and the system reboots into an apparent HEN aka Homebrew Enabled environment.

We can draw a few conclusions from the video. Its a compiled to run via HBL and therefore is run via the HBL exploit. So its via a user mode exploit => kernel exploit. Very smart. We look forward to seeing more of this kernel exploit in action and updates. Total_Noob, your the man! +Respect!!

    Running the exploit via HBL, then rebooting into what I assume is 6.20 TN HEN is what we see in the video. Good work Total_Noob!

    You know it never seems to amaze me how many people yell FAKE at first site of ANYTHING.. There have been alot of devs who were in fact NOT fakes that got tired of all the criticism and just stopped all together… Funny thing about it all is, the same people who cry ” fake ” are the same people who cry and whine ” I need a CFW for X.XX, please give it to us I want to play games again ” Respected devs should not have to prove themselves every 10 minutes to ANYONE…

    Anyways thax for another update on this PSPfan, this seems to be coming along nicely :)

    The problem here is that people don’t know which sources they can trust and which they can not.The guys who yell “FAKEEEEEEEEEEEE” have a point-there are so many fake videos around the net some of which became very famous.There are videos which has to be questioned,there are others which are 100% fake but video from dev with such resume as Total Noob can not be doubted as he has prooved himself so many times

      Lol i thought about doing this also because of the god eater demo and dbz tag team i was so tempted, but one of the users here talked me out of it so i am grateful for that but maybe this exploit will be ported to 6.30 and 6.31 firmwares…. the idea is just to wait and DO NOT UPDATE

    i showed a friend about this new exploit they were working on he asked like how much time it wud take?2 weeks? he said, and i said no, its gonna take few months b4 next vid come and more months till this is working and releeased, but wtf the vid was released….some days ago!! at this rate i will cry of joy

    Why would Total_noob use and develop a HEN over HBL?

    Answer :
    ‘It is possible that the kernel exploit only exist when the usermode exploit via PATAPON is active.’

    If this kernel exploit is independent to HBL then Total_noob could have at least find another exploitable vector on the XMB similar to the ChickHEN.

    The Photo section on the XMB isn’t the only exploitable area, The Video section and Music section is too.

    If Total_noob is reading this then don’t release it so soon, Take the time to craft and improve the exploit otherwise if this is released Sony will definitely pull the plug. Sony will silently patch the kernel exploit by an update firmware that is a guarantee.

    The other thing, what’s neat is if HBL is ported to 6.31 the kernel exploit could exist if it is dependent on HBL to exploit the system.

      Game Kernel exploit can be executed only in game as XMB kernel exploit can be executed only in XMB.That’s why he uses the HBL -he needs user mode game exploit.Nevertheless it seems it’s compatible with all firmware till now and with all game usermode exploits so in future port for 6.31 is possible and very probable
      Sony will patch the exploit in the future FW no matter what happense so don’t bother about that.Sorry for my bad English

        You only get kernel exploit when you have decrypted the 6.20 OFW and found a possible vulnerability that lets you access the system with modifications like (System version spoof).

        However user mode exploit only lets you run your own code without the privilege of modifying anything in the system and relys on buffer overflows to successfully work.

        The unsigned code or your “Game Kernel” can only be executed if the kernel exploit carrys a patch to disable the security on the XMB to run unsigned codes temporarily.

        This is no Game kernel the last game kernel was Gripshift exploit that founded to activate the kernel while the buffer overflow was happening.
        This is usermode and kernel combination like the original ChickHEN with the hello world and later on crafted to a homebrew enabler.

        Total_noob was kind of him to share this exploit and planned to develop a better HEN.

        Other Devs or Hackers and modders are keeping the best kernel exploit until they discover and have a backup exploit on the hardware of the psp like ( Cayotebean’s 6.20 kernel exploit).

      huh the god of war ghost of sparta didnt work for u weird me and my friend have 6.20 and hbl 101 and god of war demo worked for both of us oddly though dbz tag team worked for him but when i clicked it it wanted me to go to 6.30 or higher and i clicked no and it said u must update befor u start but when i tried on his it worked…strange isnt it? anyway i cant wait to finnaly get cfw on my psp

    To everybody who wants an iso/cso runner, we all know someone is gonna work on one but i found a app called psx2psp(i think thats the name) and it converts isos to eboot.pbp will that work until an iso runner is released?
