6.20 TN-D Permanent patch

Share

I’m a little hesitant on posting this one…Still its up to you guys to take the risk or not. That is if your boots into saving you 20 seconds or becomes a plastic brick and door stop.

has released a patch that will write to flash0 and give your PSP a permanent 6.20 TN-D state. Its risky, so try this on only PSP-1000 or PSP-2000′s pre TA-88v3′s or ones that can take a Pandora battery. There have been some reports of success and reports of bricks on PSP Go systems. Its risky and I personally don’t think its worth the risk to save 20 seconds or so.

Edit: Ok so there is a test mode, run this first. If it fail, you’ll brick so don’t flash it!

Hey people, I didn’t have the courage to try this myself but I told my friend about it and he did it on my psp Go (N1001) and I was very angry, it worked but I wanted to see what would happen if I boot holding R, I did and now my CTF is gone and wont come back and no other plugin is working! =Z Can someone tell me what the pspslimhacks is going on?

    • RavousFlare

your game.txt and vsh.txt on your ms0/seplugins/ have been deleted because when you boot your PSP you had hold R.

      • TYSARD/TYLUR

OH WOW, that sucks lol, why did they put that function in?Thanks for telling me thought, I was freaking out! and let me know when/if a 6.20 RF is released ;)

      • NeW 1

“OH WOW, that sucks lol, why did they put that function in?…”

Basically this patch has some plugin issues, in that some work whereas others cause the psp to freeze at boot (no, not a brick). Pressing R deletes ‘all’ the plugins and therefore allowing the PSP to boot again.

  • DexTyler

Not worth the risk in my opinion. It seems like a huge risk just to spare 20 seconds. And if you don’t hard turn off (hold the power button) your PSP, then there’s no need to keep reinstalling it.

    • NeW 1

There’s no risk, if you run the test mode and its successful, then you’re fine. I installed it on my PSP 2003 TA-088v3 motherboard and it installed successfully; if you don’t like th patch then run the installer and it uninstalls for you – i did that once to install another patch version, which has the sony logo cut out to make the PSP load faster.

hey i try to install the 6.20 tn-d and my psp just shuts off. How am i supposed to do it

    • pspfun

enabled plugins might cause your system to crashed.

    • lawl

Well first you want to climb to the highest structure in your area and drop it then when you finally get back down to the ground you want to pick up the pieces and microwave them for approx. 12 minutes. Works like a charm.

    • NeW 1

Did you ‘disable’ the Flash0 protection in the VSH menu?

  • TYSARD/TYLUR

Hey PSPFan you should mention the test function cause I’m sure most people don’t wanna try it cause their not sure or afraid (like me) But if I had known about the test it does beforehand I’d have tried it myself ;)

This release is so stupid and UNNECESSARY, and all the people trying it are just retarded. There is no need for a perm patch in tn hen, permanent it’s not better and this does not improve anything, for the contrary the hen works a lot badly.

You just have become guinea pigs in liquidzigong’s attemp to gain little fame with the work of others in the scene.

What KGSWS have just discovered can be a great improvement in the making of CFWs but it is still a experiment, a mere proof of concept. So stop being idiotic lazy-asses and trying all the shit thrown in the scene.

    • mikeac

Wow dude. liquidzizong provdes a lot of shit for the scene, and almost quit that one time because of trolls like you. I agree, this isn’t my favorite idea, but he’s still working hard to improve his HEN and released these patch for the MANY lazy people who don’t want to spend a few seconds loading HEN.

      • lauren

how do you fix the reboot every time you exit a game?

      • lolwut

I think you have liquidzizong confused with Total_Noob.

      • mamaw

        @lolwut
liquidzigong has done so many for the PSP and TN just showed up on sept. and he failed to release his 6.35 HEN,

      • lolwut

        @mamaw

[but he’s still working hard to improve his HEN]

^ This is mostly what I was responding to. liquidzigong didn’t create this HEN, and it certainly isn’t his to patch. How long TN has been in the scene and his willingness to release 6.35 isn’t even relevant to this discussion.

      • NeW 1

i second that. Liquidzizong officially hacked the TA-088v3 motherboard with this LCFW patch (i.e. writing to the flash0). Even if it wasn’t all that good he still managed to do the inevitable. He’s definitely got my support!

    • engager2020

Y0u’re! don’t you know that they only discoverd……not PUBLISHED YET! Try look practical thing here before you say something embarrasing, LOL!

    • Frezzno

I totally agree with Chase. Also TN provided this concept to exploit many games and demos. Which gave possibilities to CFW 6.35 and 6.37. So without Total_Noob PSP3000 and Go (also those PSP2000 TA-88v3 mobo) with OFW 6.20 and beyond would still rot till today. Liquidgong and other CFW 6.35 releasers are just mere ripples from TN. If TN quits so will Liquidgong and others eventually.

      • heCtor

i totally agree waid frezzno n chase too…!!makes sense!!

      • drawerfloat

        agree with that..

      • nobody

but liquidzigong (aka virtuousFlame) is the one who made the Prometheus series of CFW… I dont call that a ripple! but what you say about Total_Noob is very correct aswell

  • http://thisisnotrealemail.com Matrixisafake :(

I have psp 3000 4g, should I even bother risking dis?

    • drawerfloat

      as u wish..

    • TYSARD/TYLUR

When you boot it, it asks to preform a test, if your psp does not crash it will 97.3% work (maybe more, I just made that up) BUT since you have a 3000, if your psp does not crash it will work. Just do the test and see how you feel after it.

Found a potential fix for anyone who can’t get PSX games to work (this method is only for PSP GOs):

Uninstall the patch (just run it and press X)
    Restart device
    Run TN-D
Start PSX game (if you start it up and are stuck at a black screen, turn the PSP off and try again)
Once the game has booted up, press home and select Pause/Quit game
    Select Pause Game
Once you get to the XMB, select 6.20 TN-D Permanent Patch (make sure Flash0 protection is off)
Just to be on the safe side, you should run the test again
If you passed, run the patch again and install
Once you’re back at the XMB, select Resume State
The game should load up now

(Again, this is for PSP GOs ONLY as no other PSP model has the Resume/Pause state feature.)

release a 5.03 perma patch…. i think 5.03 perma patch will be worth the risk… hahahaha

  • HornedReaper

Hmm… tempting but I think I will pass. Not worth bricking my psp just to save a few seconds time. & as mentioned above, I dont hard turn off my psp so its kinda like its already perm to me xD goodluck to everyone that tries it, hope no one gets a brick =D

  • janzzzz

damn perma patch…it doesn’t load some of the ISO games. I switched to 6.35 PRO-B2 and the iso game i want to play loads perfectly fine….i think there are still sum bugs with this patch..i hope it will be fixed.

VF and Coldbird have said that there will not be a perm patch for 6.35 PRO as it uses a diferent method and doing a permanent 6.35 requires to do everything from the beginning.

100% SUCCESS ON MY PSP 3000 4G SPIRITED GREEN

[Tutorial] Install 6.20 TN-D Permanent Patch on every PSP

Because some guys asked me about a TUT how to install 6.20 TN-D Permanent Patch on every PSP, I made one.

    Works on PSP 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 or PSPgo!

I tested it by myself on a PSPgo with 6.20TN-D.

    For this, you will need:
    - PSP 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 or PSPgo
    -6.20 TN-D
    -6.20 TN-D Permanent Patch Pack

    Tutorial

    1.Copy the 620TND_PPATCH folder to ms0:/ or ef0: /PSP / GAME.

2.Disable [Protect Flash0] in the VSH Menu (Press “SELECT”)

    3.Launch 6.20TN-D Permanent Patch.

    4.Press x to continue.

    5.The original flash0: / vsh / module / vshmain.prx was now backed up to ms0:/ or ef0: / vshorig.prx.

Keep this file for safety reasons, if you’ll have a brick you can use that file to recover your psp!

6.Press x again to launch the 6.20 TN-D Permanent Patch in Test mode.

7.Launch the installer again, press x and then o.

8.The patch was now completely installed and the [b]flash0: / vsh / module / vshorig.prx was renamed to vshmain.prx!

Now you stay permanently on 6.20 TN-D!

    Deinstallation:

Launch the installer again and deinstall the Patch.

    Problem-solving:

    There are two recovery combinations:

-while starting the PSP hold R1, this will disable all plugins and set the settings to standard!
-while starting the PSP hold o + x + SELECT + START, this will restore the vshorig.prx that you have backed up!

    • D-TeK-DeV

Nice tut, but holding R while booting up the PSP will DELETE ALL your plugin txt files, except your plugin txt files. So back your whole seplugins folder up just to be safe.

  • OhYeah

is it possible to downgrade? there might be still some bugs, think I’ll pass on to this, loading HEN just takes seconds

  • qazer03

6.20 permanent hen is already out, I hope that chickhen R3 or 5.03 Gen-d is patched on permanent hen/cfw when it is releases…

  • Evangel23

Not worth the risk.. What if some TN-E came out? You’ll be stuck with TN-D forever.. Seriously, is it hard for you people to just press X (or O on jap PSP) and wait for 10 to 20 seconds for the loader to boot up?

    • Frezzno

If TN-E came out I would laugh so loud that that my neighbours would buy a PSP just to know what I laugh about. To the rest of you inpatient fools the words “I told you so” would have a new meaning.

      • TellUsomethin

The perma patch makes a backup of the vshorig.prx so you can get back into the OFW if you hold the correct buttons. So if TN-HEN-E DOES come out, I will enjoy it so much that my neighbors would buy a PSP just to enjoy it themselves. To the rest of you perma patch users, have fun with the perma patch cause I’m enjoying it!! There is really nothing wrong with installing the patch. Just like a FULL CFW. Each day you reboot your PSP you save yourself 20 seconds of your lifetime. Those 20 seconds can add up to your life. The ones that say that we’re lazy, good luck with your life span.

    • TYSARD/TYLUR

I’m sure TN-E will use this patch and include a recovery menu.

      • http://chase.com chase

That will never happen. This patch is USELESS.

      • Fargaite

Chase, we all know that you don’t have friends, but no need to spend your life here venting your anger :) .

      • http://chase.com chase

Talk for yourself Fargaite, no need to spend your life here paying atention to my comments :D

      • Fargaite

Well, it just so happens that I stumble upon your comments while reading through, after all, you’ve posted so many of them, its kinda hard to miss ;) .

    • th3pwnsh0p

      Maybe i could run the tn-d permanent patch again and uninstall it? D: D: D: D: D: D:

      • Evangel23

That doubles the risk.. Besides, TN and team Gen does not support this patch..

    • NeW 1

      “You’ll be stuck with TN-D forever…”

No you won’t. just run the installer again to uninstall it and it’ll be back to normal.

  • edmx

I dunno about what others have to say, but I actually LIKE having the hack as a RAM-loaded CFW that can easily be removed whenever you need to. Even though TN-D allows for PSN support, I still feel more secure accessing it with OFW, more than anything else. But that’s just me.

  • CastsPorts

LOL! this worked perfectly on my friend’s PSP go, as for me i ain’t leaving my PSP 2000 (hacked) 5.00 m33-6 (prome). GudLuck Guys

  • Kunfewzed

Wait, does this mean we can play isos from xmb now?!

    • http://chase.com chase

      short answer: NO.

Oh gosh, I cannot believe this. This kind of comment is what makes one realize this patch is idiotic.

    • TYSARD/TYLUR

You could always use iso tool to make an xmb icon brah.

i think im gonna stick with 6.35 PRO-B, ive gotten over the whole “having to put psp in sleep mode”. And Pro-B runs PSX purrrrfectly

Okay this “chase” guy is really pissing me off! Like seriously why can’t he just stfu? I find this patch is the most useful thing ever! Since I work in a store that sells used and hacked PSPs and the people I do this for are either A. Really dumb and they delete the TN-D enabler and complain to me about it or update when on ofw even though my boss clearly told them in every language to not do so OR B. They copy the enabler to their friends PSPs causing my boss to loose money. I have used this patch today on a psp 3001, 3004, 3006 and other 3K models that have a letter next to the model number (i.e. 3001 D) and it worked every time.I Have only heard one comment where they say they bricked their psp all others of success. Plus if you do brick you can boot with O,X,Start and select to load the backed up vshorig.prx, I see no risk of brick.

    • edmx

Selling something that can be obtained online for free? Tsk tsk… you pirate. Feeding off of the ignorance of the masses.

But that’s just me being all naive. I’m pretty sure there are lots of people selling out TN-D to people who are too clueless to know how to hack their PSPs themselves. And as for “no risk of brick” – are you sure you even KNOW your stuff? If only I could pandora every fuck up I’ve seen on a PSP, I wouldn’t be so confident as to say that there is NO RISK of brick… D:

  • Amareal

@Dom-Just to set things clear..6.35 Pro (whatever version it is ) is just a lcfw..not a CFW as they said here..meaning to say if you shutdown your device and opened it will go back to original OFW state and becomes LCFW again once you execute the fast recovery. So it’s still the same for me in the HEN..there is just incorporated iso driver on the 6.35 PRO LCFW unlike the TN versions which is dependent on ISO LOADERs (like Prometheus OpenIdea)

    PROs and CONS
Using the HEN uses RAM of the PSP every time you put your psp on a sleep mode..so technically you still consume battery ( lesser than that of opened) and if you are using this patch you can save up to 30% of battery life of your device since you are going to put it on a “shutdown mode” and still the TN-D patch is there. But as what PSPFAN said you are having a great risking on the part of bricking your psp. As part of this awesome PSP community let’s help each other and not play trolls or fake another name..Please report truly the device that worked with this exploit patch and not invent that “Awesome!this works for me!” or ” Thanks for this patch” where in fact you didnt test this patch. You are just playing around people.

Honestly, I didnt tried this patch (sorry VFlame) . I think you personally should tell the compatibility issues on the different MOBO’s here because I dont believe in reading comments here (sorry.)
