Dark_Alex's fix for the PSX error in

Dark_Alex has posted a solution to users who are experiencing error 0xFFFFFFFF while trying to load PSX games.

This is a bug in M33 code that is caused sometimes with certain icons.
I’m not gonna bother do an update only for this but I’ll post the file that fixes this for anyone wanting to fix it manually replacing the file.

This also fixes document.dat not working.

There is also a work around either by use the original command line PSX conversion tool or you can just select the “Old Default” icon in the options in PSX2PSP.

    My backed up isos wont work. Sony screwed me over. Sigh, umds forever is alright but anyone got an option other than pandorizing , i tryed hellcats recovery flasher. Problem still exists

    Alright, I’ll give it a shot. I didn’t see a kd folder in flash 0 before… guess i’ll just make one if I can’t find it.

    My psp slim was upgraded to the 3.90 m33.3 firmware. Can you upgrade to another higher firmware without the pandora battery? Or will that mess up the psp slim, or do you need the pandora battery to upgrade to another cutom firmware like this new one? Please advise. Please reply to mengledoe@yahoo.com.

    Of course you can! Just download the package here (if you want to upgrade to 5.00 M33) http://pspslimhacks.com/500-m33-released/... You also need to download the 5.00 OFW here http://pspslimhacks.com/category/official-firmware/...

    Extract and copy the UPDATE folder to PSP/GAME, rename 5.00 OFW to 500.PBP and paste it to the UPDATE folder… run the application on your XMB…(make sure that your battery is FULL!!!)

    your compilation should look like this:

    PSP/
    GAME/
    UPDATE/
    EBOOT.PBP
    500.PBP

    This is not that hard people I am a high school drop out with no college education. That being said thanks DAX and crew for all the hard FREE work!

    Set your usb out to “Flash 0″ its under the select menu, then hook your psp up to you computer

    Make sure your computer is set up to read hidden files

    This should bring up a window that that has the kd folder in it
    copy popcorn.prx there

    Now hard reset your psp to the recovery menu

    Under advanced reset flash1 and settings, Do this

    Reenter your settings and you should be good to go

    Some games don’t play, period, some games need to repatch the icon0 image to 80×80 size and its good.

    Multi-boot FFVII worked great!!!! :)

    For games that dont work:
    If it is really that big of a deal setup a DC7 MMC and load your Psx games in the game folder then load the DC7 MMC and select test 4.01 this should give you a working popsloader
    2) Just don’t upgrade and beg DAX and his crew for an updated popsloader.
    3) Use that same DC7 MMC and reload 4.01 to your psp
    *****Any use of the Magic Memory Card requires a pandora/service battery*******

    If you don’t know what some of this means google the terms and read like the rest of us! I have faith you can figure it out

    i change my usb to ‘flash0′ but i cant see the folder..

    you just go to your recovery mode.
    then u can see it under advance and then you
    will find the flash0 there..

    I have mines set to show but still can’t see it.

    what if i already update my psp using the official update one without the custom firmware? can i still use the firmware? because now i can’t play my psp games from the memory stick anymore.. ;( everytime i tried to do just like what you said, i can’t run the firmware because it says that ‘the game cannot be started. the data is corrupted. so, how to fix this? please help me.

    Hello ARCHER,,,

    You can’t play games or run homebrew on your MMS once you update your CFW to OFW, but you can still install custom firmwares on your PSP using Pandora Battery & magic MMS.

    Pandora & Magic Memory Stick (MMS) is a universal psp unbricker, except for the latest mobo version (TA 088 V3)…currently there’s a lot of tools on how to make it, i sent you some links, hope it would help.

    you need CFW running psp to do this, if you dont have, just search and you can buy it over the net…

    I accidentally updated to version 5.02 OFW and was wondering if there is any way to get custom firmware onto my psp… it is a slim and lite psp ver 2003… plz help…

    I just want to copy my umds and play my custom games on it… if there is another way that doesnt include CFW or the pandoras battery method i will be greatly pleased…
