PSP Firmware 5.00?
French team PSPGen allegedly have some info on PSP firmware 5.00, we’ll call this a rumor for now. But apparently PSP firmware 5.0 will bring direct PSN access and a new RSS reader capable of reading of text articles. (the current version is limited to viewing audio, videos and images)
So where is this info coming from? Well PSPGen’s team have a development version of the PSP firmware used for testing tool units. So its not public firmware but a possible future 5.00 firmware.

Picture of the newly discovered TA-090 motherboard.
Here’s some fresh news in the world of PSP. Someone has discovered a new motherboard in the PSP-2000, the TA-090. There are noticeable differences, as well as the pictures to prove. Oh yea, the most important note: It is pandora compatible. Skyknow (discoverer) says:
“I found a new motherboard, the version is TA-090.
We all know TA-088 v3 can’t use PANDORA’S BATTERY, but the TA-090 can use it, and the motherboard has changed a little. The changes I have marked in the following pictures. I can’t understand why SONY upgrade the motherboard. - Skyknow on Maxconsole.net”

Gundam PSP-3000 (Japan only)
You guessed it. Japan is getting another customized PSP that nobody else gets. Why we don’t, I’ll never know. But then again, would I really pay for another PSP anyways? Maybe, but let’s get on topic. The new PSP-3000, nicknamed ‘Brite’, model is Gundam themed. And as you might have also guessed, it’s part of the Mobile Suit: Gundam vs. Gundam bundle that Japan is receiving. The PSP isn’t that great looking, but that misses the point. The point is that Sony is constantly making mistakes, and now I can’t even suffer through a lousy customized PSP-3000. Click here to see more.

Screenshot of the upcoming Resistance: Retribution
Sony posted a video walkthrough and a developer interview for the upcoming Resitance title on their site today. The video, with Sony Bend’s Chris Reese, shows gameplay and new improvements in the game. The control system will be using the analog stick to move the player, aiming with the face buttons (not much else you can do I guess). When you move the retiucle over an enemy, it locks on without locking the camera. There are some nice weapons and bosses etc.
The interview with John Garvin clears up a few things, such as Garvin’s favorite games (of course, Syphon Filter), and how the Resistance series will translate to the PSP.
Watch the video and read the interview on Sony’s Playstation Blog

The new Star Wars game to be released in 2 days.
In 2 days, North America will be recieving the next game in the popular franchise, Star Wars. For Europe, it will be about 5 days. The game is obviously titled: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. What does this mean? Well, for starters it means a good PSP game will be in our hands soon, something we don’t get too often nowadays. For Star Wars fans, it means a new style of gameplay, a new storyline, and hopefully some good fun. We’ll be posting a review as soon as we get our hands on it.

Box art for the new Star Ocean remakes.
Square Enix has released the box art for their psp releases, Star Ocean: First Departure and Star Ocean: Second Evolution. It’s very well done, and is great for their marketing the games. If you buy one, you have to buy the other (the box arts go together to make one design). This can go with the remakes of FF I & FF II if you ask me.
