According to SCE America marketing manager John Koller the battery life of a PSP-3000 will be decreased by 20-30 minutes. Why? Well that prettier LCD screen is at the cost of battery life. Whats the beat that 20-30 minutes is on the Dimmest setting? I wonder if it would be 20-30 minutes on full bright Vs a PSP-2000 set on full bright.

Japanese gaming blog, Famitsu has gotten their hands on the PSP-3000 and has compared the two for us.
One of the most recognised differences is the screen as you can see in the shot below:

Top: 2000; Bottom: 3000
The colours are supposedly more vibrant and the new screen contains less glare with reduced ghosting.
More comparisons after the jump.

PSP-3000: New LCD with twice the refresh rate.
New info is out that the PSP-3000 will feature an LCD screen with a response time that will be twice as fast as the current PSP models. Which means less ghosting and color bleeding. It will also have an LCD five times the current contrast ratio and double the color gamut.
This is all nice, but is it worth throwing your old PSP-2000 in for a better LCD and a mic?? - We think… No. Unless Sony still have something up their sleeves in regards to improved battery life or an added feature.

Its official Sony announced the PSP-3000
Didn’t take Sony too long now did it, the PSP-3000 has been officially announced at Games Convention 2008 in Leipzig. Sony president David Reeves announced that PSP-3000 will go on sale this October, starting on the 15th, it will have a price of 199€ and will be a bundle pack including a 4gb memory card plus a game. The standalone PSP-3000 will be priced at $169 and will be out later this year.
The new model is *just*
a hardware refresh, it has a built-in microphone, an enhanced LCD screen with significantly less glare and more vibrant colors. Its also sports a smoother design and look over the PSP Slim. Unfortunatly thats it, no hard-drive, no 65nm CPU or increased battery life it seems or any of our wishes. I guess that will happen in the PSP2 ?

Screenshot of the application.
Developer DJB has released his all in one pandora app:
Release Notes:
Here you have it, an all-in-one solution for your Pandora Needs.
This program is designed to prepare your PSP Memory Stick to be used with the Pandora Battery. Unfortunately this program can not change your Battery to Pandora, however it will copy programs to the Memory Stick in order for you to do this yourself.
This is just a quick bugfix version which fixes a small bug when creating the config.txt
file for the Time Machine IPL. The program now uses MD5 Hashes to check the Eboot files to make sure they are correct. Lastly, Hellcats Pandora Installer was updated to
Revision 4a.
Hope you enjoy this nice little program.
WARNING !!! THIS PROGRAM WILL FORMAT THE PATH YOU SELECT AS YOUR PSP, SO MAKE SURE THAT YOU SELECT THE CORRECT DRIVE, AND BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA FROM YOUR PSP MEMORY CARD
