1.50 Kernel add-on for PSP 5.00 M33 fat owners
Dark_AleX has released his 1.50 kernel add-on for older PSP “fat” units (PSP-1000’s) that are running 5.00 M33. This update allows PSP fat users to run older 1.50 kernel homebrew.
For this update you’ll need to download firmware 1.50 which can be found here

why is the 1.5 kernel still being supported? its so outdated.. homebrew should be made to be compatible with 3.71 and above.

Does the PSP Slim still require this addon?

1.50 update should be in the root of the memory stick
and you make a folder called update in your game folder so the it should be like this
mycomputer
removable disk(x)
psp
game

@phoenix1414
it allows for ‘true’ homebrew; plus it makes us PSP Phat owners feel good knowing we have one thing over the slim and psp-3000 owners.. hehee…
if anyone needs a locationfree tv fix for the psp phat head over here for a quick guide on hacking it back into flash0 after the 1.50 add-on

@ PSP MX
I got the same problem as you do!
Although I ‘ve got cfw 5.00 m33, it’s the 3rd update (5.00 m33-3).
Maybe it’s because of that…I don’t know for sure.
If someone knows for certain, I would be very much obliged to them.

@those who have 5.00 M33-3
i got the same error “Inexistent or invalid version of 150.PBP located in root” or whatever it says, its because you didnt rename the 1.50 EBOOT. the Kernel installer looks for “150.PBP” at the root, so you have to rename it from “EBOOT.PBP” to “150.PBP” then it will install just fine. and the kernel is working, my homebrew 1.50 games fired right up!

January 27, 2009 at 3:02 am
i still cant get it too work.i copied 150.PBP too the root directory. (E:) then i copied the 150k_installer (4 files) directory too E:\PSP\GAME\update.its still says its corrupted.what am doing wrong? i have 5.00 M33-6 cfw.
February 17, 2009 at 11:38 am
Ok I figured out how to get the 1.50 kernal for cfw 5.00 m33-6.
Copy 150.pbp to the root (E: for example, or what ever the temp drive letter is when the usb is connected)
Then copy 150k_addon500 folder to your GAME150 folder.
You should see the 1.50 addon icon. Run it and press X to begin the install.

thank you worked like a charm
July 15, 2009 at 3:03 am
OK, did everything u said, still corrupted. Why do you copy the eboot twice ( one named 150.pbp and the one in the add-on folder? How did u guys finally get it to work? No one ever said, its not working this way and its frustrating.

tnx J it worked
July 15, 2009 at 9:58 pm
Not Working!!!! Can someone reply, please, its driving me nuts, its just a stupid little add-on!!! Tried EVERYTHING that people have suggested. Either I get the “inconsistant or nonexisting 150.pbp” or its just corrupted.
July 16, 2009 at 8:34 pm
Nevermind, got it. It was not clear but u have to change the 1.50 OFW Eboot to 150.pbp. I was changing the kernal add-on Eboot to 150.pbp. Hope that helps anyone else that deals with this.
