Here is a tutorial for VBHL

Credit for this goes to  from our forum,,

Bypassing psn firmware upgrade
In order to download content from the psn network you must spoof your firmware version to 1.81. To do this we will be utilizing our computer as a proxy.

First you must download and install the program Charles proxy fromhttp://www.charlesproxy.com/download/
This program will be used to intercept the data which our ps vita will be sending to the psn server.

Next you need to downloadhttp://www.mediafire.com/view/?gr2k71lnxz6fiq7
This is the file we will use to spoof our firmware version.

On your computer run Charles proxy. Go to the command prompt and type, ipconfig /all
Take note of your ipv4 address

On the ps vita go to the settings menu, in here find the sub-menu network, then go to the sub-menu wi-fi settings. Select the wireless access point to which your connected and go into the advanced settings menu. Scroll down to where it says proxy server and enable it.

For your address you should use the ipv4 address we found through the command prompt and set your port to 8888

on the Charles proxy window clear the session, to do this go to file and choose clear session
on your ps vita go to the xmb and enter the ps store, itll ask you to upgrade, press the home button and exit to the xmb

on the Charles proxy there should be a file labeledhttp://fuse01.psp2.update.playstation.net, open this file and find psp2-updatelist.xml
right click this xml file and select map local, choose the file we downloaded
right click and select query string, choose to add in new tab
type var and 01810000 in the boxes
click Execute

go back to your ps vita and enter the store, this time it should not ask you to upgrade and you can purchase/download content

Open cma
To transfer content onto the ps vita you need to use the cma, useage of this program requires you to update the vitas firmware however. So to get around this you must use open cma.

Note: Below instructions for this part are directly taken from wololo.net

http://wololo.net/download.php?f=openCMA_r4fix.zip

Installation:
- extract the archive in your CMA folder (program files// by default)
- quit the CMA if it is running on your PC
- execute “run.bat” (you need to run it in “Admin mode” on windows 7
- That’s it, now the CMA should run without requiring to be connected to the internet

set-up
Download the vhbl save game files from here
http://www.mediafire.com/?cd7cadxx7zlxsdc

extract these files to the cma save data folder
connect your ps vita to your computer and copy the vhbl files as save data

Transferring to the vita
Download a homebrew of your choice and extract it
save it as “INSTALL.ZIP”, with no compression
take any save data file and add the zip file to it
so it should look like the below file structure:
game save folder
- ICON0.png
- PIC1.png
- DATA.bin
- PARAMS.SFO
- INSTALL.ZIP

Put this in your save data folder for your cma client and transfer it to your ps vita

Alternatively pre-packaged homebrew can be found athttp://www.wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=10859

Running vhbl
Start the game, the save data will load
Choose the option to download at the main menu
Select yes and vhbl should start

Installing homebrew
When inside vhbl make sure you are in the folder named save data, ms0:/PSP/SAVEDATA/*
Your packaged homebrew content should be found here
Select it by pressing o, itll ask if you want to install select yes and wait
After its installed you can delete the file from the savedata folder to save space

Playing homebrew
Navigate to ms0:/PSP/GAME, your installed games can be found here
Select them to play

Playing while having vhbl
Go to the main menu
Select new game
Select new character creation
When it asks you to save the game choose the 2nd slot
slot 1 is used for the exploit, so make sure not to over write it.

This may or may not have already been patch, however due to not owning a Vita I am not able to test this out for you.

Cheers for reading,, as I said before all credit goes to thekornerkids,,

All I’m seeing is vbhl. What about some updates on actual cfw or something useful? I wanna play real games, not the same old emulators I always play. and certainly not crappy home brew.

theres been several p.o.c. videos released showing psp game iso loaders but no official release date as of thus far. i am yet to see a viideo of an actual backed-up vita game running.
from what i understand this is because there are different levels of security, user-mode exploit vs kernal exploit, and the ability to port psp game loaders that have already been made vs fully coding a new loader for vita games

There plenty of games available on the PS Store!

Is it just me who actually care about people who make the games?

    • Tedyesca

i care about the game creators, i just want homebrew, nothing illegal. just to show off a exploited vita. besides the fact that i have a vita.ive been looking for a homebrew game (its old)its like bejeweled bu with pokemon instead of crystals, know anything of it? i used to have like 3-4 years ago but lost it a long time ago (reformatted hard drive and memory card, etc.)

      • IxIeUaNxI

I remember the game your refferring to, yet I can not remember the name either,, I will try and find out for you :)

      • Tedyesca

thanks. idk how to search for it…

  • Kingl342c

Can’t seem to get it working. everything is pretty clear until the query string part. I right click but no query string. if I click on request I see query string tab. I right click and go to edit. I add new tab. type in var and 01810000 and execute. vita still ask to upgrade. I think there’s a typo “var” instead of “ver”. try changing var to ver and 01810000. Still the same. vita still ask to upgrade. please help.

very bottom of tutorial”This may or may not have already been patch, however due to not owning a Vita I am not able to test this out for you.”

accessing psn through charles proxy while on 1.80 firmware has been patched
this is because the firmware version being sent to the server is now verified with the vita’s installed firmware version

      • Thekornerkids

scroll down to where its says open cma and start from there
you can still have the exploit long as you already purchased monster hunters game and dont upgrade; how ever you wont be able to access psn to download content

      • Kingl342c

already purchased the game and had the exploit running. but format memory by accident. is there anyway to install purchase item without psn? is there a way to install game thru openCMA?

      • Thekornerkids

open cma would only work for reinstalling the game if you backed-up the content of your m2 card prior to the format
other wise the only way to download content to the vita is through the psn network, which youd need upgrade for now but if you upgrade then you lose the exploit

        so your out of luck

try using a ps3, a ps3 has access to psn and transfer to the vita
download via ps3 and transfer to vita
dont have a ps3 so i cant check but may be possible, can any one confirm?

  • Tedyesca

i need help… should i ask here or in a thread. i have mhf;u, got open cma, i dont have the cma save data folder

    • Thekornerkids

ok to find your save data folder check the cma settings
on the right of the task bar there should be a icon for cma, you either click it or right click, there should be a menu that comes up
select settings and find the folder cma uses for data
open this location and find a folder labeled some thing like savedata
inside this folder there should be a folder with random letter and numbers az its name
inside the randomly named folder is where you put the vhbl save

so it should be some thing like this:
      root folder
      >savedata
      >>randomly named
      >>>homebrews and emulators go here

      • Tedyesca

thanks, got the vhbl running, now i just need the emu’s and homebrew to wor. imma use the wolololopre made stuff

  • Paladin_ok

Can it read the iso file yet?

    • Thekornerkids

no this is for homebrew and emulators only

    • Tedyesca

thatll kill the vita. if the vita is gonna die let it die on its own.

Hey very nice share. Concerning the save data of the “Slot 1″ in-case of an overwrite while starting and playing Monster Hunter can’t you get back the save data exploit since the file is available? But I’m thinking the process will have to begin all over again but just skipping the Charles Proxy Steps.

So my question is: If someone happens to accidentally overwrite the save data exploit on Slot 1 can it be replaced back in the Vita using “Open CMA”?

Hopefully if people do this without knowing there will be an answer not only for me but everyone else new to VHBL.

I’ll consider getting the 1.81 exploit once the game is released publicly. There are only a few PSP games available on the PSN for the Vita….Now there is a newly built on the PS1 classics…So my guess there is a lot of different games that have some sort of opening to be exploited.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

Add me on the PSN: skylinekid17….

Currently play Resistance Burning Skies until NFS and COD releases in a few weeks  =)

    • Thekornerkids

if you over write the save game in slot 1 you can redownload the exploited save game and transfer it using open cma. you will losewhat ever save data you have from playing the actual mhfu game.
if you delete the actual game from the vita then your out of luck unless you may be able to transfer using a ps3.
as for charles proxy it has been patch and no longer works to bypass the psn upgrade. it was patched the day i wrote this tutorial.

I am trying to figure out a way to transfer the Ps vita game Playstation Allstars Battle Royale from my ps3 because I got it in a bundle when I got the ps3 game. However, whenever I try to transfer the game using the content manager it forces me to update. I have no problem with transfering from the PC as I have OpenCMA. I just wanted to know if there would be some way around this bulls*** firmware update so I could get the game I piad for.
